ALBUMS OF THE YEAR LIST

Show your albums of the year list, comment on each others' lists, show that you at least have better taste than P4K and NME and call each other plebs and faggots and all that shit.

>IV - BBNG.

I don't though
literally any list is better than mine

++Gojira, Jim James, Swans

>car bomb - meta
>coma cluster void - mind cemeteries
Quickly checked both, really my kind of stuff, will hear them all the way now. thx m8

Please explain why that needs explaining

I saw Street Sects last night and was legitimately scared. Their shows should seriously come with a legal disclaimer.

No ariana?

One of my most slept on albums

The first single title track kinda made me underestimate it. That song seemed a little too by the numbers but this album is incredibly solid.

+BP, Danny Brown, Skepta
+King Gizzard
How was new Radio Dept?
+Cloud Becomes Your Hand, Jerry Paper, Andy "meme" Stott, Palmbomen II
What's wrong with your res
+Lust For Youth
Never see that mentioned anywhere

Normie here who doesn't want to make an elitist out of him.

96 listened within a year in different genres

Really liked:

>Sia - This is acting
>Weezer - The White Album
>Leonard Cohen - You Want It Darker

Was okay for a couple of listenings:

>Radiohead - A moon shaped pool

1-2 tracks I liked:

>The Avalanches - Wildflower
>Green Day - Revolution Radio
>Crystal Castles - Amnesty

The weakest year out of last 5 for me.

Still waiting on a few things, but basically...

thanks for reminding me there's new weg

Res?

No problem, it's no Seven Idiots but it'll do.

...

Resolution, your picture's blurry as fuck

Krallice LP?

Krallice: Hyperion is on there.
They have a new one coming out real soon too...

how'd you two like tricoli's other release this year? First time I've seen vixit but not clonic earth in a thread

OH wait, you meant what am I waiting on? New Aaron Spectre, George Lewis, Steve Moore, Free Salamander Exhibit, Joke Lanz, etc. etc..

A lot of people on here will tell you the new Radio Dept. is terrible, but I see nothing wrong with it. Compared to earlier work its not as good, but its still a good album in its own right.

I liked Clonic Earth a lot too, but I was trying not to have duplicate artists on there, I had to cut out so much stuff.

Also new split with Eyvind Kang/Tashi Dorji, three different RLW releases, and other shit I haven't gotten around to checking out... some recent Zorn, like the 3rd volume of classic guide to strategy.

Personally liked the musique-concrete vibe of Vixit more then what Clonic Earth had going on. Still enjoyed it though.

Yeah new Krallice in two weeks

WHERE IS THE NEW ARCA
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>that guy who is equal parts hip hop and metal

Top row are in order, everything is random after that. Thoughts?

Kanye's album probably shouldn't be there cos that album is a mess but it has too many songs on it I loved to ignore.

he actually had three other releases too this year, new 3/4 had been eliminated and astral colonels albums and also a collab on entr'acte

...

Oh don't mind me, just posting AOTY

I had no clue, thanks for the heads up user.

if you like jaar's album then also check out yves tumor - serpent music.

jumping the shark is fantastic, it's one of my favourite synthpop albums this decade, the narratives about all the losers are so relateable -- too bad releasing it a third time didn't pay off his car or w/e the story was

thanks will check it out, and yeah i was surprised how much i liked jumping the shark. at first i before i understood what it was going for i thought the music was weak and the character of Alex C was lame (based on the music vid i saw) but i gave it another shot and it all just works together so well

drop what ur doing &listen to FLANCH right now

CRYING - BEYOND THE FLEETING GALES
CRYING - BEYOND THE FLEETING GALES
CRYING - BEYOND THE FLEETING GALES
CRYING - BEYOND THE FLEETING GALES
CRYING - BEYOND THE FLEETING GALES

>yves tumor - serpent music
fuck this is good

2016 has been a weird year

I like you
and yeah your logic is basically the same that led to me leaving it off my list. I liked it a lot, but there were at least 20 albums that I liked as much that were more cohesive

you're no fun

>I like you
i like you too n_n
and damn you've reminded me I totally blew of Earrings Off! this year, i didn't take it seriously because it was so short and different from Gist Is

What's the top left album with the Nike box?

dean blunt - 419

>you're no fun
how so we have the same taste lol?

needs updated.

>Venture Bros.
Nice. Great doing shit music.

I blew it off for the same reasons, now I'm going to give it another go

Yeah keep "updated" that until there's actual good music on it.

you actually have refined personal taste, what the fuck are you doing on mu

I think a decent number of people have that, it just gets more pronounced at the end of the year in aoty threads

I barely listened to anything this year.
Any recs?

Underwhelming year but by no means bad I guess

heron oblivion - s/t
causa sui - return to sky
cloud becomes your hand - rest in fleas
parc en ciel - path integral
lnzndrf - s/t
cloudland canyon - an arabesque

a chart with no shit albums on it.... on Sup Forums? is this a recent trend?

listen to Entropia's Ufonaut & the new Deathspell Omega

>a chart with no shit albums on it.... on Sup Forums? is this a recent trend?
Thanks man!

...

>hopelessness

I enjoyed the album, but I would have enjoyed it more if I did not understand the english language

...

>no Porches - Pool
at least deftones have been mentioned a couple times

I have awful taste, but I like it, so who cares.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Man, that Baroness record is from 2015

whoops, i saw it on my most listened and assumed it was 2016
