The crowd took their revenge

Inspect his cleats for motors

Wrong webum

if he carried his bike, i would.

he didn't, and therefore is simply a sperg who's lucky to not be disqualified.

there's is nothing heroic about this. it's something a child would do.

>Was jogging up the Ventoux part of your plan?

Nobody knew who I was until I came off the bike

so as I understand it you can run without a bike but you have to cross the finish line on one?

it's a work of art

Reminder the entire Netherlands is outraged that everybody got free times bonus expect for Mollema

Every grand tour needs its dose of dutch butthurt.

Quick, post more Chris Froome running memes

Froome is really trying his best to be entertaining

kek why are cyclists always arseholes?

Froome and Porte also lost the time Mollema lost so I'm not sure why they're complaining

Because if you let the crowd have their way things like what happened today happen

>reks spectator running up the ascent dressed in all-yellow
>stages later get rekt by spectators
>has to sprint up the mountain with the yellow jersey

froome and porte are justified
but is there actaully _ANYONE_ who can explain why Quintana got bumped up to 3rd?

He's not Mollema is 3rd

What happened?

any good spectator footage yet?

>implying

...

that's the entire point - quintana has been moved to 54"

>you got to see one of the greatest moments in cycling history unfold live while internationally shitposting on a Tiberian horticultural forum

what a time to be alive

Well I'm not sure where you got that from the wikipedia page and BBC have him in 3rd overall

Froome knew everyone would be bored with him easily winning so he is going out of his way to make this a meme tour, he made doubly sure to give us a surprise on this shortened stage.

>SANIC descent
>Yellow and Green breakaway yesterday
>Jogging Skeleton

I can't wait to see what he has in store for us in the alps

NOS.NL, the Dutch (correct) news site.

Froome and Porte were given the same time as Mollema after they were forced to wait for replacement bikes. However, the crash caused an inevitable roadblock, and the UCI decided to give Nairo Quintana (Movistar), Tejay van Garderen (BMC) and Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) the same time as Adam Yates, despite the Orica-BikeExchange rider finishing six seconds ahead of them on the stage.

Mollema remounted and finished well ahead of Froome, with initial results showing him second overall behind new leader Adam Yates. But the revised times moved Quintana back ahead of Mollema in the overall standings, although the Trek-Segafredo rider gained 19 seconds him, and is now two seconds behind him in fourth at 56 seconds from Froome. Mollema hinted that the decision might have been different had he been alone. Trek-Segafredo are appealing the decision.

"What's going on? Seems like everybody gets time bonuses. I wonder what would have happened if I would have been the only one to go down," he wrote on Twitter.

Also want to add they were 23" seconds ahead at the moment of the crash (direct quote - Richie Porte), and were gaining speed, specially since quintana en co were dropped by Adam fucking Yates (with all respect).

so feels kinda sour to bump back a rider and bump up the rest. Yes they might have lost some seconds while being stuck in traffic, but Mollema WAS ON THE FUCKING GROUND, and got no time reward for him.

In short: Mollema and Yates got cucked by the UCI who only protect the big teams.

well movistar must have the officials in their back pocket they don't deserve it all

Thanks Mr Skeleton

Serious question: do you think this running sprint could affect his performance? Considering how fucking skelly mode he is, his muscles could have suffered

I ran 7 miles at a slightly-below 7:00/mile followed by a double-shift as a bike courier later that day, thinking I'd be completely sore but I was fine: the muscles utilized running are starkly different than those strained by cycling. This is also why many world-class cyclists almost always are mediocre in marathon races

Wait, you can run in bicycle racing? And it counts?

if you're important enough, rules have a way of bending

He will suffer because he was using muscles that he would never usually use.

he didn't run a 5k. he jogged 200m. the biggest danger was him fucking a knee whilst running on bike shoes and a foot slipping. seems crisis was averted. almost no chance he loses.

if the race even continues at this point, considering the attack an hour ago.

>whilst
yuroboo harder pls

>if the race even continues at this point, considering the attack an hour ago.

it's not like the organizers or authorities would publicize any credible threats, but I'm surprised that not a single bike race has been culturally enriched yet. looks like a possible attack was thwarted in Germany a couple weeks ago, tho. probably a lot of work going on behind the scenes

I'd say the TdF is too much of a national pride thing to cancel outright, but will it get cucked or otherwise reduced in scale? who can say

A full kit wanker

i don't get it. is english your second language? do you not read books?

why did he still wear his helmet though?

why didnt he carry his bike?

doesnt he need to have his bike with him at the finish?

I doubt he planned to make it all the way to the finish, anchors on American TDF coverage said he ditched bike probably out of anger/adrenaline.
Mutual aid ended up getting him a new (poorly fitting) bike 200m down the way, and his team car got him another for the last 400m of the race
