Any PC tards out there that can help me? I just recently put in a Corsair H110i liquid cooler in my pc to cool my CPU, but now the fucking thing won't boot. It turns on, but won't boot or anything. I tried taking some parts I replaced out and putting old ones in but to no use. It was fine until I put in the liquid cooler. Any help?

Specs
AMD FX-9590 CPU
Corsair H110i liquid cooler
GTX 960 graphics card
1TB Western Digital Hard Drive
Cougar CMX 1000 watt power supply
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB 3.0 Motherboard

Remove the ram, Turn on PC see if you can force it to atleast throw out some beep codes

Also did you remove the processor when you installed this shitty fucking over rated cooler?

I did remove the ram and didn't hear anything and what do you mean remove the processor when I installed it?

>I tried taking some parts I replaced out and putting old ones in
including the cooler?
does it boot at all anymore with the old configuration

Was asking cause i seen a few cases where people removed their processor from the socket and bent pins.

It happens. Also did you do all this work on carpet?

step 1: connect power supply to motherboard
step 2: put in cpu and cpuFan
step 3: install ram
step 4: turn it on

does it work? this is the minimum needed to post. if this doens't work, it's one of these things broken.

No it doesn't. I replaced the cooler with the stock fan but still no boot.

Did you get rid of your static before you touched the board fag?

i was actually dumb enough to ignore the case standoffs when i built my first pc, while an asus motherboard ran fine without them somehow
tsk wouldn't surprise me if this guy did the same

No a desk. I already bent the pins once but I straightened them back out.

and the reshaped pins worked?

Yea

>bent the pins

>Already bent the pins

Pull the fucking processor and take a pic of it and the socket.

It didn't work

Yes

Ok give me a second

tbh just gonna redirect this to you

its entirely possible your motherboard got rekt and the only real advice i can give is what i experienced myself

can you confirm if when you tried this that hte board was in the case or out on your desk (HOPEFULLY ON YOUR ESD BAG THAT IT CAME WITH)

Fucking first day on the job faggots?

You need to delete system32 whenever you make hardware changes.

>Also did you do all this work on carpet?
Shitkid detected.

plug in your processor power connector OP.

>695782968
>MURRRRRR HURRRRRRRR HURRRRRRR HURDURUDUUUURRRRRRRR HURRRRRRR

The processor

>jokes on them I was only pretending to be retarded

The socket

this 'lil sneaky nigga

That's plugged in

You fucked it up
Throw it out, buy a Mac
You proved you can't be trusted to take a shit properly

oh right, that cheap ass mobo doesn't have a q-code display.

>AMD
Found the problem m8

...

A Mac? I'd rather buy one of these

Go back to making mixtapes

>already bent the pins but straightened them out

Seriously faggot, don't even open a case again.

test this:
unplug new corsair pump to see if it has a short.
reseat the mobo connector.
try to boot without gfx card

does the computer post? can you get to the bios or have any kind of output on the screen?

Fuck off, Macs are for retards who can't figure out how to use more than one mouse button.

If you removed the ram and there is no beeping chances are the motherboard could have croaked

No POST and no display on the screen

implying there aren't two buttons on mac...

I tired all that. Nothing

Hahaha, this. This right here.

I'm not going to judge the pc you have but the parts look relatively cheap. You probably fried your motherboard or ruined the cpu. Go to a micrometer and test a new cpu with the old partsite. If it doesn't work return the cpu and get a new motherboard and test it out of the case. If it doesn't work then it's either both your power supply your ram or gpu.

Last thing to do is unplug everything and pull bios battery, then hit power switch to all power.
If you can't get any bleeps or bloops. I'm afraid the only thing left is bad-mobo.
How did you mount the corsair cooler? On some boards you can twist out some motherboard traces on the back if you don't use rubber grommets, if you did game over.

just tell the seller (amazon/tigerdirect/egg/jesus) that it was DOA. they dont need to know you went full retard on it

also, next time OP, when you get a new build....

get an ESD strap. use it
place the board on your table on top of the ESD bag it comes in
connect your power supply, cpu and ram to the board before putting it in the case
then connect a monitor and power it up.
always do this first, you dont want to see that somethings fucked after youv'e got it in the case.

from tehre, put it in the case. dont' forget standoff screws (look it up if you don't know)

don't sweat breaking shit. there's one way to learn, it's just an expensive mistake if you do make one.

I know, but not everyone can afford Intel

Parts*

people are too scared of ESD. I had a p4 chip that I used the pins to comb my hair for a year. My dad said "you using that" and threw it into a pc and it booted up fine.

I didn't mount it yet. My case can't fit it because it's too small.

ugh, i bought thing and it's not really cooler than stock fan and way louder

does it beep at all when you turn it on? if not, is a buzzer plugged/soldered onto the mobo?

so your motherboard is on a desk?

I only got it because my processor was overheating and I needed to cool it

yeah, until that one time...

seriously, better safe than sorry. if you want to fuck up a thousand dollars because YER A MANS MAN go for it. But I'm going to play it safe and know I don't fuck my shit up.

No. Everything is in the computer case except the radiator with the fans for the liquid cooler. They're laying on the desk beside the computer

ahem. not. really. cooler.

No there's no buzzer

Does it turn on or boot when you remove the cooler and put the fan back on?

No

It turns on but doesn't boot

does your mobo have a vga/dvi/hdmi port? if so plug your monitor to that and see if you get anything.

I bet OP just forgot the second +12v cpu plug and only plugged in the ATX power.

Yea it does but I didn't get anything

I imagine static is a problem in colder states, I live near the equator where it's humid, hot and there is 0 static electricity except for 2 weeks in the winter.

if you put the pc back how it was when it worked, and it doesn't turn on at all, i'd suggest getting a new power supply... anyone else agree?

>liquid cooler

Plugged what in exactly?

That's easily ruled out with a paperclip and a multimeter.

is you're power supply good enough?

That was mentioned here.
OP already plugged it in here:

I upgraded the power supply too, and when I put the old one back in it still didn't work. The PC actually didn't even turn on at all when I used the old one, so I'm not sure

Yes

PC obviously doesn't enough dedotated wams a server.

double check all power connections. you should have a 24pin atx power on the motherboard as well as a 4/8pin cpu power on the motherboard. 1 or two 6/8pin plugs on the video card, and a sata power on the hdd/ssd.

Ok, silly question time. Is there a screw behind the mobo that could be shorting a contact?

Did you get thermal paste in the socket?

No

lol thats what i first thought when i saw that but didnt say anything

Yea that's all connected

Go to Sup Forums for tech advice

this is cpu supplemental power, absolutely nothing to do with the integrated graphics outputs I asked him to test.

No those are scratches

How do you get scratches on your CPU socket for god's sake?

i replied to wrong post sorry.

No idea

I ctrl + f for spin, but do the fans spin when the power is on?

Discharge all the power from the system

Reconnect everything, make sure all connections are secure. Only install 1 ram stick...

In the slot closet to the processor.

DO NOT CONNECT the power from the wall/surge protector to the back of the PSU.
Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds...

Then plug in the Main power. Press power button

Any response?

I know this came up, but reseat again. ESPECIALLY the mobo connector. I mean really wiggle that fucker down and make sure it LATCHES.
Also put the farthest stick of ram in, if you have port 0 and 1 filled. take port 1 out, put it in 0 and leave stick 0 on the desk.

Nope

We're out of options OP. Mobo failure has occurred.
