be Burman

> be Burman
> be the most ascended race in SEA

too bad you're from Myanmar then

What did the Rohingya do to deserve genocide?

Being Muslims

Why Burmese girls best looking in SEA?

t. East Asian National Socialist, Hubert Yuang

i don't care if you genocide the rohingyas but stop sending them to indonesia
fuck off

ethnic cleansing, not genocide

are you the Burmese muslim by any chance?

>be finnish
>have blond hair and blue eyes uniquely among the asian races

Not a high bar.

they're fleeing on their own. Not our problem.

Why did your government get rid of your beautiful old flag?

I'm an ex muslim.

Yes. The more politically savvy among us don't dig the new flag either, since it was issued by an illegitimate government and without the consent of the people.

3 questions.

Thoughts on Rohingya aka Bengalis in Burma? Did you convert to Buddhism? What's Bangladesh like as a neighbor?

y no new flag?

>best in SEA
>accomplishment
tell me when youre the best in asia in general

SEA is nothing compared to the East

We had more or less a media blackout of Burma while you were under direct Military rule. Have things improved since they loosened their grip on power, or is the "democratization" all just a facade?

Also how bad is the internet? I assume you're in Rangoon

i unironically believe they are being subjected to a state sponsered (and by state i mean the military) project of ethnic cleasing. I believe an effort could be made to put them through a citizenship program by which they will have an opportunity to either recover or obtain (depending on which narrative you subscribe to as many scholars believe rohingya have been in Burma for centuries and have enjoyed legal citizenship which was revoked under a Ne Win's military regime) legal citizenship

Your opinion on farang?

i was brought up in an orthodox theravadin buddhist household. I converted to Islam when i reached the age of 16. Later i became disenchanted with organized religion in general. I became a fedora atheist for about a year or so until a friend of mine introduced me to Christian existentialism and death of god theology. Now im simply irreligious but maintain an active interest in philosophy of religion

No idea. Never heard of Bangladesh before. Do you mean India?

Isn't it cute how Western liberals think Buddhists are all about peace and love and hippie shit?

No this country that shares a small border here, right next to India

They're all cosmetic changes, the way things are developing right now. The new administration (national league of democracy) which won the election last year has neither the courage nor the leverage to push for constitutional reform. Without such a reform the military will continue meddling in the government (the army also doesn't answer to the civilian government).

internet connectivity has been improving ever since they allowed private service providers like Telenor and Ooredoo to come in.

Hello

The foundations of Buddhism literally are peace and love and hippy shit. The Buddha was revolutionary in his time because he rejected the racism and classism of the Vedic priests. The Burmese ""monks"" don't care though.

It's not the same thing as Islam which has violence literally written into its holy texts.

Yes. Little do they know that such a fetishizing outlook is the flipside of conventional cultural imperialism.
The majority of Buddhists here are too attached to traditional institutions and cannot fathom an image of Burma/Myanmar dissociated from a Buddhist identity.

Have you read Burmese days by George Orwell?

It's the same thing with Vietnamese and Tibetans.
They've tied their religion to nationalism. Though for the latter it's largely changing because of recognition of Westerners as reincarnated Tibetan lamas, and the influx of Westerners into Tibetan monasteries in India and Nepal. Though Tibetan Buddhism has a vastly different outlook than the Theravada of Burma, with their extreme focus upon compassion that does not exist in other Buddhist sects which has allowed this to happen far more rapidly.

Pic related.

The Burmese monks are lining their pockets with alms money and donations. Many of them, I suspect, are decent sons of Buddha who just want to be left alone. But most of them are just parasites. Even as we speak there's a huge state sponsered sermon going on in a park close to where I live. Can't believe we're squandering tax payer money on a religious festival when the famous monks who are going to be speaking at the event are more than capable of financing it themselves (one of them drives a fucking bentley)

No, I haven't. But I am aware that some sjw ish Burmese liberals i know aren't too fond of it.

I think the Tibetan leaders realize that the game is over, they're never getting Tibet back and the only hope for Tibetan Buddhism to survive and thrive is to get Westerners to carry the flame.

It's the same with every religion. A few are devout, the rest are goddamn parasites.

Most Burmese buddhists are fundamentalist in that they sincerely believe their's is the version of Buddhism that most fainhfully preserves the true wisdom of Buddha. Persecution of 'rival' (not one of the nine Theravadin Buddhists sects in the country recognized by the military regime) is one of the political instruments by which the the latter maintained their hegemonizing influence.
