Ask Michael Jordan

It helps fat am'rican ignorant plebs to learn to count by looking at the result.

>micheal jordan
>a real athlete

Pic related is his only real accomplishment

A FUCKING LEAF

canada pls stop bullying

[] Implying american fatmen still understand the differences between movies an Real Life

() Implying ignorant americans still distinguish between advertisements and real happenings.

{} Implying USA people discriminate between a controlled demolition and a terrorist attack.

>96mph
>reasonable pace
>implying all you have to do is hit it

Fuck off, Leaf.

>slowly
>reasonable pace

Poorest of baits

were you a jays "fan" last fall?

>160 kilometers per hour
>18 metres away
>reasonable

i know how to count from 0-7 enrique

>hitting a ball with a stick
>requiring skill
>"""""""athletes"""""""" are fat as fuck

>hitting a baseball is the most difficult thing to do in sport

If it's so difficult, how can you devise "strategies" at baseball, then?

Also
>try scoring from a 35 meters direct free kick
now THAT's difficult

>even the best hitters only get hits about 3/10 times

Do a lick of research and then come back please.

>insecure Europeans always have to bring up their sport

Where did anyone say that was easy?

Do you know how fast 155 km/hr is?

>everyone who plays my sport sucks at it
>therefore the sport is good

No

>95mph
>"reasonable"
>ignoring that it has to be hit somewhere that 9 defenders can't get to, and that even average players manage to do this with a pitch that speed 25% of the time

Why am i even bothering with this pathetic leafbait

Call me when you find guys who have 30% chances at scoring from 30+ meters free kicks

@69627827
Do NHL scorers score with 100% accuracy? Do soccer players score with 100% of their shots? What about basketball players that shoot ~45%. Do they suck too?

Why are you comparing apples to oranges? Want to have a reasonable discussion?

>slowly
>reasonable pace
95mph is not slow or reasonable, especially once you consider all the crazy directions the ball moves in

No one said it's the most difficult thing to do. In the sport of baseball there are defensive plays that are much harder than getting on base, that doesn't mean it's not hard to connect with a 90mph cutter and actually reach base without being thrown out.

>Do you know how fast 155 km/hr is?

Yeah, I know. That's roughly the speed of powerful shots in football

what in the fuck

except that ball is coming at you and you have to hit it with a thin stick

And you believe that to be slow when a baseball is tiny and you're extremely close to the pitcher?

Consider a baseball is much smaller than a football, is coming with movement and you have to hit it with a small stick. Not only do you have to hit it, but hit it well enough to not be an easy out.

I knew this would devolve into a baseball vs soccer thread.

All because of a leaf that is butthurt about his Jays crashing back to earth.

Even him doesn't reach 30% m8 (more like 0% for his last 10 games iirc)

I would say it's more because insecure Europeans always have to shove soccer into your face at every moment.

But they are 1.5 games back and 11 games above .500 fampai

I was just highjacking the thread to debunk the fan-favorite meme that "hitting a baseball is the most difficult thing to do in sport"

No, not even close. There are actions far more difficult to do in other sports, free kicks in football for example, but there are others

There is no way you're going to win the division with you're bullpen.

I only hope you win the wildcard and the Sox win the division.

Fuck Baltimore

>finally figure out timing to hit a 97 mph fastball
>pitcher throws a 80 mph sinker
>now your shit's all fucked up
that's not even mentioning shit like curveballs and knuckleballs
baseball is extremely hard

>actually wanting Boston to win anything

lmao

In North America one of the most difficult things to do is swallow your pride and fall down like a pussy if someone touches you. I guess that's no problem for Europeans, you guys make everything look easy

youtube.com/watch?v=CnjCWcrtH_M

>There are actions far more difficult to do in other sports, free kicks in football for example, but there are others

You're a dumb.

The two really aren't comparable, at all.

You're taking one specialized/situational statistic (taking free kicks)and comparing that to something all baseball players have to do regularly.

Nobody expects Ronaldo to hit 30% of his long free kicks. Not even 20%. That's fine. Nobody's expecting Trout to hit for the cycle every night either.

In MLB you ARE expected to hit safely over 25% of the time, or you're likely to spend most of your time on the pine. That's why it's considered so "difficult". It's all relative, Patrice.

Are we talking about a singular event or a total event combined? I would say winning the TdF collectively is tougher but as a singular event, hitting Clayton kershaw would be pretty damn hard.

youtube.com/watch?v=GUtSWQuF16A
>reasonable pace

>specialized/situational
>implying free kicks doesn't present themselves regularly

That's why they are worked and reworked at training, by free kicks specialists (like Beckham)
And still, they fail to achieve 30% success, a rate that you say is normal in baseball

>that flag
>this topic

>Missing a goal that is 20 feet wide
Says a lot about you fairies

>"some meme tier play in dive grass is harder than literally every single beginning of the play in baseball"

Do you think you could hit an MLB pitch in 50 tries?

Just stop.

You're clearly just trolling but I'll help ya out here.

A fair comparison for free kick goals(specialty skill not required by all players) frequency would be number of home runs in a season. A solid number for an MLB slide is 25+ per 500 ABs - which is 5%.

Still, this is apples to oranges.

Let's use your logic though... You know what's harder than scoring a free kick? Throwing a perfect game.

Checkmate, Mamadou

>do you know how fast 155 is?
Slower than 180km/h

At last we can agree that hitting a baseball isn't the hardest thing to do in sport

Hitting a hole in one is.

You're right hitting a home run is

>a man throws a ball slowly at you at a reasonable pace
>slow

70 mph is the "slowest" pitch most MLB batter will ever see, fastballs are usually in the 90s

And that's probably a knuckleball.

>reasonable pace
Try 90-100 mph fast ball with other pitches in his arsenal to fool you...change-up (several types) and curveball (several types) being the two most common plus at least one of the following specialties: screwball, sinker, slider, cutter, other types of fastballs that put more spin or curve on the ball like a cut fastball, split-finger fastball, forkball, two-seam fastball, etc
Hitting a ball in baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports

>you can play at the highest level well into your 40's

The guy that played at the highest level at the oldest age was a hockey player. Hell right now Jaromír Jágr is an All-Star and he is 44

>Hitting a ball in baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports
No. Stop with this meme ffs.

What is Canada real accomplishment ?

>a reasonable pace

Being the greatest country on earth

The fact Prince is this fat is extra funny when you factor in hes a vegetarian.

Fat unathletic people like to play SPORTS too

:)

sorry man but your country is hilariously irrelevant compared to us. not even really debatable to be honest

>(((WHO)))

Is this a new le ebin maymay I'm not aware of?

You can continue being relevant and awful and we will be irrelevant and great

...

>divegrass
>difficult

A FUCKING TRUCK

Hitting a baseball is quantifiably the most difficult thing to do in mainstream sports (I'm sure there's a meme sport out there with a more difficult action).

A lol at that Yuropoor comparing a 35m free kick to that. End of the day, you're still connecting with a stationary object.

msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/hitting-an-mlb-fastball-should-be-physically-impossible/vi-BBrOqSt

Look what happens when one of povetyball's most celebrated """athletes""" tries to hit 10mph lobs.

youtube.com/watch?v=WliM1w1MWDk

And then we have feats like outfielders throwing 105 mph rockets perfectly on target from OVER a povertyball field away.

youtube.com/watch?v=xkYrT5arGVw

Why do baseball haters always post Prince?

Fucker is athletic. He ran the 60 yard dash in 6.9 (for reference, the "greatest povertyball athlete in the world" ran the 25m dash, which about 82 feet, in 3.61 seconds. Do the math), and clocked in with a sprint speed this season of 18.4mph. Messi tops out at 20mph with much more field to gain top speed, but is half the size.

>Yeah, I know. That's roughly the speed of powerful shots in football

France can't into physics?

A soccer ball loses considerable velocity after is leaves the foot. For example, a tennis ball, which is much smaller than a soccer ball (meaning more aerodynamic) served at 126mph will drop to 89mph before it hits the ground on the other side of the net.

>I've now come across an article that shows speed-guns tests back in 1999, on Sampras' 1st serves at point of where ball leaves racquet strings and also where ball leaves ground after impact:

'Down-the-T' serve:
Speed after being hit: 126mph
Speed before hitting court: 89mph
Speed after hitting court: 67mph
Speed at returner's baseline: 58mph

A baseball is totally solid, unlike a tennis ball, and loses about 1 mph every 5.5 feet (confirmed by physics), so a 100 mph fastball will only lose about 10 mph by the time it reaches the batter.

I would estimate a soccer ball kicked from 20 yards out at 120mph probably loses about 50mph by the time it reaches the keeper.

There's no way a big, air filled soccer ball maintains speed better than a tennis ball.

>90-100+ mph
>reasonable pace
>slowly
why are you Canadians all such assblasted retards?

>football
>shots
nigga the only "shots" in football are ones that go off in your pocket

That's all they got. They want to bash baseball so they googled "fat baseball player" then come back with Prince or Ortiz. It's like white people bringing up Rocky Marciano in Boxing talk.

The only thing you're great at is being our bitch in hockey.

>23 years and counting without a Stan Lee Cup going to the moose fuckers.

The majority of baseball players aren't fat. Some get fat as their careers go on because, yes, it's not the most cardio-involved sport. But good luck being a poor Cuban/Dominican and getting picked up by scouts if you're 280 pounds.
It still generally favors athletic players.
At the end of the day, baseball is similar to handegg, a lot of different body types, short, tall, speedy, fat (less fat in baseball though).

It looks easy. That's why mexican and carribbean midgets are better at it than you?

>Mexico never reached a WC semifinal, despite hosting twice and dominating CONCACAF

football is harder, be mad and stay mad

i don't know how many times i've posted charts proving that most MLB players are white, but apparently there is no number great enough to get it through your thick european skulls. also Mexicans barely have a presence in the MLB, most hispanic MLB players are from the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

Don't forget aging. That's a huge factor in weight, and as we know, plenty of baseball players play up into their late 30's and even early 40's.

>they elected a man who hates his own people, national anthem and lets his own country burn to ashes
Ye real great fucken country

Lets accept for a minute that hitting a baseball is quite difficult, it still does not take away from the fact that the entire sport is just hit a ball

no you're thinking of home run derby, which is a meme competition like the slam dunk contest. there are 8 other players on a baseball field besides a pitcher and batter.
