Respect for Lushlife
It's fantastic. The religious and spiritual metaphors are so on point in terms of the political and racial climate we are currently in here in America. The lyricism is just A+ without a doubt. The song about his dad made me cry, and in general the songs have lush, beautiful jazz instrumentation. Not experimental by any means, but definitely a well executed album that has both an incredible show of talent AND serves a higher purpose from a societal perspective.
Please listen again, thank you.
