>Spending $200 on an i5
>Only 8gb of shit tier ram
>1TB of storage
Wew lad

Yup

i5 blows AMD trash out of the water. Good choice.

The whole build is fine. Let the AMD fanboys crawl out of their basements for a collective circle-jerk.

where can you get i5s for cheaper?

No. Need more ram, faster speed. Larger 2nd hard drive. 1 Tera will fill quick. Nidia is better. Monitor too small. At least a 24 to 25 inch widescreen

>i5 blows AMD trash out of the water

>Falling for obvious marketing techniques
Good goy

I would be fucking pissed if I spent $1,000+ on a system like that which you will once you pay for shipping and get the actual cost of the items.

You kidding right? Amd is far superior to Intel. Cheaper, faster, more cores

>Buying windows
>21" monitor
>$270 for a $230 card
>Single stick of dual channel memory
>Seagate hard drive
>Power supply the cheapest part of the build
0/10

I'm ordering a good chunk of them on amazon since I have prime so shipping isn't that big of an issue

i5? Why? I built a computer 3-4 years ago with a better processor than that.

You're welcome

This op. Also spend more on a power supply. Cheap ones go quick and this is important if you game alot

Your power supply can not handle crossfire 480's, and at the price that rx 480 is I would buy a 1060. If you wish to crossfire 480's buy something like the EVGA 850 G2.

They still make i5. It's not bad for gaming. If your video processing then yes go for i7, gaming better to spend more on a nvidia card

>i5
>It's not bad for gaming
Oh user

Considering 480s draw 150w and that the rest of the system would use 150w at max, yes you could absolutely run crossfire 480s off a 500w.

Which would be important, if he said a fucking thing about crossfire, dickhead. The fact that the board has a single x16 slot doesn't help, either.

>obviously doesn't understand the basics of computing
Yes an i7 will run better but it's negligible. Your better off spending an extra 100-150 on a better video card then i5 to i7

>The GPU is the only thing that matters

>Tells others they don't understand computers

:)

For gaming. Again I said if your doing CPU intensive things like video editing i7 definitely. Gaming i5 and better vid card

The other guy is right moron. If your gaming the CPU is used far less then gpu. Most games don't even use the multi core correctly to really improve drastically

I have that processor in my mITX LAN computer. It works quite well. I dunno why that's the listed price for the 480 though, strikes me as significantly more expensive than it should be. Honestly, I'd wait until the aftermarket 480s come out. Why they haven't yet is beyond me.

Where did I say the gpu is the only thing that matters?

>Most games don't even use the multi core correctly to really improve drastically
Alright, you all have fun with your bait thread and the experts like this in here.

This is true

I think most places are out of 480s so that might be a cause of the price increase.

get a gtx 1080

>I can green text too to make it seem like I'm smarter then you too
Then I can correct you with no green text.
You do know how games work right? Most games are not as CPU intensive as they are gpu intensive. Unless if course they are coded like crap

OK expert tell me the difference between an i5 and i7 that makes it so much better without using Intel's marketing

OK dumbass first of all it's a higher # 7 vS 5. 2nd 8 core vS 4

>tfw you could've bought a console, a second controller, and a bigger tv
>tfw you could hve gotten a nice gun, made a big down payment on a nice car, or just evenly dispersed it up into smaller luxurious things
Fucking pc fags

thats quite above my budget, but i was initially considering a 970

>tfw no cable in my room
>tfw can't drive anyways

Build is good for a first rig. Good price, good components. Do it OP. That's about how much I spent on my first rig, now I'm sitting at about $3500 in upgrades and making my rig more powerful.

>console, controller, TV
To have a shittier experience.
And good work on the 2nd controller, faggot. No modern games are local multiplayer, anyway.
>nice gun
Who gives a shit
>'big' down payment on a 'nice' car
>$1000
Fuck off
>smaller luxurious things
OR
You could buy a PC and save money in the long term with free online, much cheaper games and much more longevity.

Not even $1000 would be a good downpayment on a nice car. GTFO here nigger. You know nothing about what you're talking about. Fucking console pleb.

Should I actually buy windows or not? I'm a nigger at torrenting so I probably wouldn't be able to torrent it.

I'd start with a simple dubs get.

this

They also have a tendency to blow up

faggot._

>More cores
Sure, more cores on consumer models, but that won't do much good for gaming.
>Cheaper
For shit tier CPUs, sure.
>Faster
Nope, AMD is years behind Intel when it comes to effective speed. Clockspeed doesn't matter if you only got half the IPC that Intel has.

And then there's the power consumption of AMD processors...

Just pirate windows you faggot, otherwise decent build. Maybe look into taking money saved on pirate windows and upgrading to the 6500K and a Z mobo.

not planning on overclocking so wouldn't a 6500k be a waste?

>wants to build pc
>has a budget
When will you console fags learn?

Only if you are 100% certain you don't want to overclock in the future either.

Just pirate a fucking windows 7 key onto a USB stick, that'll save you ~$80
Get rid of that shitty hdd and get a comfy 320+gb ssd you fucking autist.
Who the fuck needs more than 8gb of gpu, just get a 960 you fucking Faggot.
Also get 2 4 gb sticks, it'll boost your performance compared to 1 stick of ram.
Go with a amd cpu, if you plan on gaming (which it looks like as if you do) buy an A8 quad core or an fx. That'll save you $40 or so.

You can shitpost and watch porn on your phone Soo why spend so much?

Don't buy a single stick of dual channel RAM. Just buy two sticks of 4gb RAM.

would 2 sticks of 8gb ram be better

>Spend 500$ on CPU and GPU that can run games 120hz+ on 1080p.
>Buy shitty office monitor

Also powering your 1000$ build with a sad chinese toaster of a PSU, enjoy your housefire.

1060 instead of 480
Other than that looks good

>Buy GTX1060
>instead of one ram stick buy two 4gb

If you plan on editing videos and using Sony Vegas or photoshop, yeah, if not then don't.

Yes. Two times 8GB gives both better speed and more RAM, and still leaves two extra slots if you need more RAM in the future.

any recommendations on a good PSU and monitor?

PSU: The Corsair PSUs are great. Stick to no less than 700w though.

As for a monitor, you MUST go for 144hz. Doesn't have to be G-Sync (or in your case, Freesync) but 144hz will give you a far better experience than a 4k Monitor would. 4k requires ridiculous amounts of GPU power, which you simply don't have in your rig, so your games will top-out at 30fps IF you're lucky. Going 144hz is the best thing I ever did, hands down. Mine is an AOC but I remember Asus doing a good one too.

Also, while you can stick to 1080p you should also consider 2k; it will lower your framerate unfortunately (the whole point of 144hz is to try and get as close to 144fps as possible - 90fps is where it becomes noticeable, but 65fps looks terrible) so remember that higher res = lower framerates ultimately unless you double your GPU power.

I'd rather do 1080p 144hz at over 100fps than 2k/4k and sub-90 fps. It'll look sharp, and shit.

Pick psu from here. Take one from tier 1 or 2 whatever has enough power and you can afford.

tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

144hz is nice, but nothing wrong with 60hz. It works just fine and looks good if you're not used to anything higher.

don't think I can find a 144hz monitor within my budget, although it sounds pretty good

uu can get windows 10 for 20€ somewhere else...

I will say that I thought 60hz was as good as it gets, until I tried 144hz, now 60hz looks dire and I almost wish I hadn't corrupted myself like that. Any console game now just feels like watching a slideshow. Tried "Until Dawn" yesterday and my God it must run at around 15fps, it really is a slideshow.

Instead of spending so much on Windows 10, look on G2A or Kinguin for a $15 copy. Or torrent one. The money you saved can go towards a 144hz monitor. Or 16GB RAM instead of only 8. I find that 8GB is fine most of the time, but it cuts it a bit close with some of the newer titles.

Looks good. Don't listen to negative comments. It's your first rig and will serve you well for 60fps gaming

Buy 2x4 ram
Fuck that graphics card
Get a egva 750w psu

the first draft of my build had an egva psu, but was 500w instead of 750w.

Before you buy anything, look over everything again. Your main focus should be a decent Graphics card, enough RAM, a semi-decent PSU (anything is fine as long as it isn't cheap shit, otherwise it could blow within a year and take your components with it) and ask yourself, where can I cut corners to get the best value for my money?

Can you get a cheaper case? Can you get windows cheaper or free? Have you shopped around for each and every component on at least 3 different sites? You may find that by shaving off a few dollars here and there, you can afford a better GPU (GTX 1080 and 1070 are revolutionary and kick the shit out of every other card in their price range). If you can't afford everything then just get a cheap as shit monitor ($30 second hand or something) and spend more money on your GPU. Then in 3 months time when you've saved up more, buy the monitor of your dreams.

Not every purchase has to happen right now.

Just get a macbook you poor shit
