Excercise can help a lot.

Don't use medication for anxiety. It's a short term benefit with long term downsides. If you're using benzos for anxiety, you'll probably get addicted and then you'll eventually have to suffer withdrawal, and that can be as bad as opiate withdrawal (I've gone through both).

Search natural methods. Breathing exercises, mindfulness, tai chi, etc. They require some effort but you'll be much better off in the long term.

I also have anxiety and used to smoke occasionally. But once my anxiety got bad I tried it again and I lost my shit. I went crazy and was mentally distraught for days even weeks. Not sure if I just had a bad reaction that one time or if it makes my anxiety worse in Geral. But booze helps me a lot. I can go out and drink all night and have a great time but the next day sucks as it's twice as bad when I'm hungover

don't try benzos for anxiety--they do work of course, but you will get hooked and withdrawals are the devil. Try doing exercise, anxiety is more physically rooted than it is mental most of the time.
Additionally if you find yourself needing a supplement to help with anxiety, look into Ashwagandha, it is extremely effective and you can get it on amazon.

But for immediate relief without drugs/supplements go out for a walk, write your thoughts down, theres so much to do bro.

The other thing that worked for panic attacks was an elastic band around the wrist. When I felt a panic attack kick in, I'd start to flick myself in the wrist with the elastic. Honestly, the only three things that can help anxiety/depression are meication (I take lexapro for the above symptoms and it works quite well for me), meditation (I agree with whoever mentioned tai chi earlier, it's wonderful), and exercise (no comment).
