Extra Flags is an open-source (code is on GitHub) and non-malicious (no IP is accessed) plugin that adds regional flags, like states and provinces, to the already existing national flags on Sup Forums, Sup Forums and Sup Forums, by storing users' post number along with the selected regional flags, and retrieving it from a database when a thread is loaded. You can add your region's flag by requesting it on the GitHub page.
Here are the links for the impossible flags still on the Sup Forums server. Collect from here or don't. You set your own rules. They're currently impossible to collect from a post however. The future could change that.

Anyone with coding experience here?
I have probably a 10% chance of being able to run the script successfully. If anyone here has actual coding experience beyond a bit of dabbling in R and Java and general computer competency then I'd encourage you to download the ZIP / Haskell if necessary and run this thing.

the left is the old county divisions, also known as lieutenancy areas, they were used until 1996 and still serve a ceremonial purpose
the right are the current county divisions, also known as principal areas
the extension has the flags for the divisions on the right, but the current UK map template reflects the divisions on the left - something that should be fixed
I guess the right is the "correct" one if you want to know how their local government works today

The one on the right is the current map of the 22 Principal Areas, used for administration. That's the important map.
The one on the left is the map of Preserved Counties of Wales; basically a 19th century hangover where you had Lord-Lieutenants and Sheriffs representing the monarch at a local level. This one isn't really relevant any more, it's just for "tradition" and show more than anything.
Then there's this map of Historic Counties of Wales, which were used for centuries. It's very confusing. Especially since the Welsh Assembly was introduced in 1999.
From what I know about Spain it's also very anarchic and confusing.
