His smugness. His pseudo-wit. His boring, uninspired "music." I hate him and everything he is. I hate Kanye West. I cannot find the words to express how much I despise this goddamn asshole, and not for the same reasons he can't. I hate his retarded postmodern drivel and his goddamn superior attitude. Kanye West is everything a rapper should not be: alive after the age of 25, American, and black.

I used to be an atheist. I used to think that religion was a fable, God a delusion. But then I listened to Kanye fucking West, and I realized that God must be hiding somewhere, because the devil did not create himself.

I'm sick of his boring, overwrought nonsense. I'm sick of having to pretend that his depressing, verbose trash is some kind of profound insight into the human condition. I'm sick of wasting time on Kanye goddamn West instead of giving our attention to the myriad of musicians who actually deserve it. I'm sick of listening to albums that wouldn't even pass as mediocre 100 years ago. I'm sick of the idea that Kanye West can actually be considered America's foremost artist. I'm sick of Kanye motherfucking West.

When did boring, pretentious garbage become a substitute for good music? When did half-assed stream-of-consciousness and Chicago references replace actual depth and substance? Has God truly abandoned us? Why is Kanye goddamn West allowed to live?

I just - I just absolutely loathe this black fuck. I can't wrap my head around the fact that some retarded bullshit artist named West can rake in the millions by excreting one album every two years that somehow manages to enthrall one person on Sup Forums while being condescending to them. I hate his attitude, I hate his output, and I hate his unjustifiable success.

There are no more ways I can put this now. I just hate Kanye fucking West so goddamn much.

How do you really feel

Have you ever tried talking about musicians you LIKE?

He is a pretty good artist, right down to the deepest meaning of the word. Also really full of himself, egocentric, excentric and a little mad, but that's just how some artists are.

actually, he's good

Every single beta white liberal male Kanye fan after finding out Kanye met with Trump

Thanks for the newpasta OP.

>pseudo-wit

I know people like this in real life. From my university music class. They have shit taste in classical and think that modern composers are garbage. They of course also believe that alk contemporary popular music is mostly trash. They fail to realise that the evolution of music is fucking their mums

Stopped reading there.

OH FUCK. OH SHIT OH SHIT. FUCKING DESTROYED DUDE. FUCKING EVISERATED. HOLY FUCKING SHIT FUK

>Kanye West is everything a rapper should not be: alive after the age of 25
At least you are right about something

But Kanye is actually a genius you piece of shit.

If you want an actual reply, hopefully I can provide an alternate perspecrive:

Kanye's a somewhat conflicted person because he is relatively well educated. (Note that assumption was made because his mom was an English professor.) He wants to have fans and people that support him, and he wants them to see him as a genius. I believe he does feel superior to most people, and that's how he alienates himself.
Anyway... musically Kanye strives for innovation. For a popular artist, I'd say he experiments with his sound a lot. He has exposed the music world to a wide variety of things. His incorporation of autotune for example, a lot of times it isn't to help him sing, it just creates that sound, and he wants to make use of it. He also knows how to create an atmosphere fairly well. The thing is he has to appeal to his fan base while constantly trying to change his music. I think that's where the would be the semi-self awareness that you mentioned comes in, because he has lyrics that shows he's aware of his public perception.

What interests me about Kanye is that he has to be so calculated all the time, I find myself in similar shoes, but I don't have millions of fans. He has to walk the tightrope of expression and pleasing the very people that got him where he is.

Check out Lou Reed's thoughts on Yeezus:

Fairly insightful perspective too, but ultimately I wouldn't be upset if you kept your original opinion, to each his own user.

Lil note: Many rappers that are black, over the age 25, and American have great music: The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Erik B. & Rakim, Kendrick Lamar etc.

He's a genius, yet an idiot. There's something enchanting about him. I feel Sup Forums relates to him because he's autistic.

my mother is like that, she doesn't work and spends half her time at home reading yahoo articles about Kanye, then ranting about him. I'm buying her mbdtf for christmas.

>The grandiose My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Roc-A-Fella, 2010), that basically reversed the path of the previous two albums, was hailed as an epochal masterpiece by the press but mostly because of what it represented (a diligent adoption of all "cool" stereotypes of the time), and not necessarily because of what it sounded like. This overcrowded album certainly brought together West's arrangement ambitions in a pompous and multifaceted manner, feeling more like a Wagner symphony than a hip-hop album. By applying the lessons of all his masters (Jon Brion, Kid Cudi), West came up with a better focused and integrated music/text melody/rap message in the anthemic and dreamy chant of Dark Fantasy and in the driving and hypnotic lament of Gorgeous. This method achieved a new peak of pathos in Power, a terrifying variation on King Crimson's futuristic anthem 21st Century Schizoid Man.The music is not only emotionally draining but physicially extenuating as the pieces get longer and longer. The nine-minute Runaway begins with just a ticking piano, transitions to excruciating raps, ends with an instrumental coda of deconstructed chamber music. The eight-minute Blame Game disguises another incursion in chamber music as a soulful Sting-like ballad. The album ends with
Gil Scott-Heron preaching Who Will Survive In America over a massive beat. This compendium of rap and soul music of the era is a sinister hallucination of self-destructive impulses.
Even Scaruffi himself admits Kanye is patrician, kys OP.

cringe

>someone actually posts a non-meme contribution
>le cringe XD so cringy fedora lmao r.eddit
Atleast it's a good way to filter underages.

lol its just music bro why are you so mad

.>Chicago's Kanye West produced Jay-Z, Talib Kweli and Alicia Keys and then fashioned one of the most personal concepts of the era, the soul-infected The College Dropout (2004). There are three main streams of music here. First and foremost, there are lush smooth constructions: We Don't Care, with Caribbean feeling and children's singsong, Spaceship, which is lounge music with even a touch of Frank Zappa-esque orchestration, and Slow Jamz. Then there are traditional rap rants but architected in creative manners: All Falls Down, featuring funky Spanish guitar and female backup vocals, Never Let Me Down, interwoven with girls humming Chinese melodies at an anthemic tempo, Two Words, with a harpsichord simulating a suspense movie soundtrack and vast layered choirs, Family Business, coupled with a jazzy piano sonata and a gospel hymn. Finally there are short satirical skits that parody ordinary life by means of old-fashioned melodies like Graduation Day and I'll Fly Away. Halfway between the cabaret and the rant are the military march of Jesus Walks, replete with funereal call-and-response of both male and female voices, and the demented dissonant pseudo-klezmer dance of The New Workout Plan (with more Frank Zappa-esque traits in the vocal interaction) that suddenly remixes itself into a techno number. The 13-minute stream of consciousness Last Call that closes the show is, instead, a mix blessing. This is supremely intelligent, creative and trans-stylistic postmodernism.

>a sinister hallucination of self-destructive impulses.
completely correct

I read Lil Note like Yachty saying Lil Boat.

Can anyone name any pop artist in the last decade that has been more innovative and ambitious than Ye though?

Scaruffi legit thinks MBDTF and CD are better than anything The Beatles or Radiohead ever made. Fucking kek, what a madman.
