So is it a bad idea to leave my sleep apnea untreated?
bump
pls help Sup Forums
im tired of waking up a million times a night gasping for breathe. im always dreaming about choking. it sucks
one last bump
Since it is due to loosing the muscle tension
>basic medical insurance which every decent country should enforce
there is most probably no home remedie for this.
My father has a breathing mask (actively pushing air through) and it works great.
do u english doe
Lose some weight you fat fuck
Uh, I copy pasted the green thingy in the wrong place, I'm so bad, I'll kill myself. hurr durr. :/
im not even fat tho. wtf?

Sleep on your side
doesnt work.
no matter what i do i feel my throat close when im trying to sleep.
and when i do actually fall asleep i wake up gasping for air. i also wake up many times but dont remember it. ever since ive shared a room with my bro hes been telling me i make weird ass noises when i sleep. when we where kids he used to complain that i hold my breath all night.
now i have a place with my gf and shes saying the same shit.
this is sleep apnea right?
i never thought anything of it til just now that i read it causes a lot of stress on the heart which worries me cuz ever male in my family has died from heart related problems for like 6 generations.
Yes it's sleep apnea
And you aren't sleeping on your side if that's happening
Take this
Lay on your side, extend upper knee forward and rotate body until upper knee rests on bed
Also lose weight
Those are the only ways top get rid of sleep apnea
Cpap machines work about 5% of the time and surgery works about 10% of the time
Weight loss and shifting your position works 100% of the time
What's your height and weight?
>ever male in my family has died from heart related problems for like 6 generations
heart disease is the most common cause of death, so this is nothing exceptional
I have a condition called 'upper airway resistance syndrome' where my throat just kind of closes off at night, and causes apneas. Im 5'6 and weigh 145, so weight isnt the issue. CPAP helped me pretty immensely. I no longer need to sleep 12 hours a day to barely function, and my depression and anxiety have diminished somewhat. I also just feel better in general, because Im actually getting a full nights rest now. Please do yourself a favor and get a sleep study done. Most decent insurances will cover it and it will definitely improve your day to day life.
i only sleep on my sides.
sleeping on my back is guaranteed choking all night. sleeping on my side is the only way i can get sleep. but im still constantly waking and gasping.
as for losing weight, im a little overweight, but not flabby or have manboobs or anything.
im going to be forced to start riding my bike a few miles a day starting next monday though. im replacing my car with a bike. hopefully i start to lose weight from that and it helps.
but like i said this has happened since i was a child and i was a skinny little fucker.
my rib cage was always visible so i doubt weight is causing it. thought it wont hurt to lose the weight anyway.
You might have UARS 'upper airway resistance syndrome'. See my above post.
>What's your height and weight?
state id says 6 feet but ill be completely honest.
im 5 foot 11and3/4inch. fucking sucks. im like a quarter inch away man. i just tell everyone im six feet. and i weight 230
>heart disease is the most common cause of death
yeah all the men in my fam die from heart related problems cuz theyre all drug addicts and alcoholics lol. im neither unless u count weed as a drug.
Cpap dries me out doesnt work . i lost some weight a while back but gained it back but did notice a difference while thinner.
whats the difference between UARS and the good ol' sleep apnea syndrome?
Lose weight you fat fucking retard.
>I no longer need to sleep 12 hours a day to barely function
dude i could literally sleep more than 24 hours if i wanted too. im always fucking tired. always. im kinda used to it though. i forget im tired most of the time. unfortunately im ameripoor with no insurance so i cant go see any docs or get machines.
Start singing
4 hours every fucking day and learn how to project using your diaphragm
Also I don't know if you know how to do this since my wife can't
When you found a position to go to sleep in relax your upper body into full rag doll mode
If you do it right your airway will close unless you find a position your apnea won't effect you
I do this every night
My position is at about 15° from on my stomach where 0 is flat on my stomach and 90° is 100% on my side
Get a humidifier cpap
Sorry, but cpap definitely works more than 5% of the time. They wouldnt be making and selling these expensive machines if it didnt do jack shit. Cpap was a godsend for me. I can finally sleep now.
Could be lung related
That is why they are so expensive, because the 5% they help need to buy them, so they can raise the price to whatever they want
Are u fat by anu chance? This weight loss shit is real
Most cases of sleep apnea are caused by being overweight. But with UARS the apneas are caused by the anatomy or shape of someone's airway, despite being at a healthy weight.
I had one. Water and all. Still dried me out . just doesnt work for everyone.
just sleep with an air compressor in your mouth it's like a cheap cpap
The success rate of compliant patients with CPAP is around 83%. More stubborn cases may require surgery. But that is pretty extreme and risky.
>tfw your problem too
Except those aren't real numbers
Those are the numbers of people that have been diagnosed, then sold cpap machines
I was one of them and my wife reports that I still have apnea even while using it on its highest fucking setting
well if you lived in denamrk, the government would pay for it.
Which is the greatest nation now?
No, you can't come.
lol, assuming apnea sufferers are all fat.
0/10 for reply. idiot.
CPAP is designed to push air past the obstruction so you can breath. You may still 'snore' as you exhale. This machine wasnt designed to stop snoring, thats nothing. Whats really going on is you're becoming hypoxic as you sleep, and your fucking brain is dying. CPAP prevents this from happening.
Ya, there's actually a pretty simple way for most people to combat sleep apnea: lose some fucking weight. If you're heavy, shedding some pounds from your fat ass will melt away some of that adipose tissue in your neck that's impeding your airways. Also, sleeping with the head of the bed slightly elevated or sleeping on your side helps prevent the gravitational collapse of your airway. If that fails, there are devices (namely CPAP) that can help keep your airways open while you sleep, and there's even surgeries to try as well. Obstructive sleep apnea is not a benign condition, it can lead to hypertension, and pulmonary hypertension, which is bad. Pulm hypertension can put strain on the right side of your heart and eventually lead to heart failure. So if you're a fat fuck like most people with obstructive sleep apnea, lose some fucking weight you fat neck bearded piece of shit.
Most obstructive sleep apnea sufferers are fat. Also this is Sup Forums, so I think he was really just playing the odds with that assumption.
Some people with REALLY bad apneas have woken up with blue lips and cheeks. These people will literally die without CPAP.
Bamp
I'm not talking about giving snoring I'm talking about fucking apnea and positive pressure doesn't keep out from happening
stop being fat
stop having allergies
both are fixable (at least allergies take a little while if it's multiple types of allergens that you can't sweep up with one hypo therapy)
Get on Craigslist and buy a CPap machine.
