Name 1 show where no main character is snarky/sarcastic/bitter/mean

>you are now aware you've been poisoning your mind for decades by habitually watching toxic people

Check it Out starring Steve Bruel

The Americans

...

The worse he ever comes to insults is calling men hes intimidated by "Dang hunks".

I love Dr. Steve Bruel.

Does April count as a main character in Parks&Rec?

Certainly

Literal who

Totally agree with you OP

Leave non toxic TV to me

And me, mate

Like over 10 years ago there was in interview with Julia Louis Dreyfus where she said she doesn't let her kids watch Seinfeld because they were "horrible people" and she didn't want her kids to be like them.

That was actually the first time I realized they are pretty bad people I'd probably not want to hang around IRL.

That was the first time? How dense can you be

...

I didn't say how old I was at the time. How dense can you be?

God tier survivalist. Probably doesn't drink his own piss either

lost, jack.

theres plenty of toxic assholes in Lost

He insults people he interviews in the "what we learned today" thing at the end and sometimes says they don't know shit

the flash

There was nothing wrong with Kramer as a character

>toxic people

Fuck off, tumblr.

As long as he wasn't your needy neighbor or screwball friend.

Almost like the characters are based on real people who experience multiple emotions, one of which is the one you described

>hes never studied management and read volumes of literature on toxic employees and toxic employers

Mr. Roger's Neighborhood

watch any disney or nickelodeon show and the characters are assholes and you get a laughtrack and kids are taughht to be assholes

watch mad men and you see the reasons characters are bitter and your understand what it is to be human on a deeper level

is there anyone in black sails or penny dreadful?

Judd Apatow interviewed Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder in his new book Sick in the Head, and Vedder discussed the Disney Channel.

“I don’t want to say anything, you know, because there are certain good things about Disney.” He added, “But that channel is not one of them, if not just even a single line in a half-hour show, that has anything of value and that isn’t said with an attitude other than, you know, being snarky.”

“And it rubs off, you know. It’s a bad influence. I probably sound like my parents. I mean, I was listening to Country Joe and theFish and George Carlin and, you know, Jimi Hendrix and all of that. We were pretty excited about this stuff.”

A show with flawed and/or asshole characters would have far more interesting conflicts than a show where literally nobody is sarcastic or mean.
That's just Storytelling 101

I think the point is that real conflict is more interesting and understandable than the villain just being a fat dick because he/she wants.

It's far more interesting when people have specific reasons to do/say things.

Why does Eddie Vedder know so much about the disney channel? Is he a cunnysseur?

The central point is we spend our time focused for hours on people we would not give the time of day to in 'real life'.

We know enough about toxic people and how they bring a person down to know they should be avoided, yet we choose to watch them for hours every week.

It has to have a negative effect on a person.

preach brother

hey i always enjoyed phineas and ferb, that show was good

Ok, except OP wasn't talking about "villains just being dicks because they want", he was talking about ALL main characters. If not one person on either the hero OR villain's side was at least a little bit sarcastic or a jerk, and everyone was a perfectly logical polite person, that would be strange and unrealistic to boot.
You sound like a pussy. That probably makes me a "toxic person" but seriously, if you want to watch shows with 100% happiness and rainbows, just put on some Nick Jr or something

>Pussies take care of their mental and physical health

you sound like an overweight loser

I always wondered why they try and portray 11 and 12 year old as having an adult social life.
>going on dates
>no adult supervision at all
>jobs

Thats not even difficult. Bourne Identity.

Mad Men

would you guys consider Anthony Bourdain a toxic person? I really enjoy his shows and he has good insights usually

true. man I need to watch that movie again. the Mini chase scene is great.

steven universe

>one takes physical and mental damage when they witness someone act like a jerk

Ok I take it back, maybe you aren't a pussy. You're just batshit insane.

What is 'stress'

Before the fat idiot replies, "how can a show make you stressed? LMAO"

How can a show make you happy? or laugh?

Oh, it can make you feel good, but it can't make you feel bad?

Fucking moron

the characters in that show are always so ugly
I can't even pretend to take stevenposting seriously

>snarky/sarcastic/bitter/mean

A world without people who have these attributes is literally unattainable. It's like asking to stop people killing.

Thinking TV such a big impact on people's lives is literally retarded.

I think people are smart enough to know this, so I'll just presume this is good bait. 7/10

How It's Made

Fuckboi

rectify

Because kids want to be grown ups. When you are a kid all you think about is getting older so you can actually do shit.

Watching a television jerk act like a jerk should NOT cause you noticeable mental stress. If it's a show about a jerk who commits brutal acts of onscreen torture, I understand why someone would get stressed by that. But not if it's the average tv show with some characters simply being rude to each other.

Also you seem quite quick to throw insults at me, for a person who's trying to police the dickishness of entertainment characters. Are you projecting?

I don't watch tv though :^)

>complains about toxic people on 4chin
>is OP
>is a fag
Checks out desu

And that is why kids are becoming fucking parents t b h
They need to stop this shit. The only kids movie that didn't do that and I enjoyed surprisingly was Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

I always wonder about the kind of people who collect these pictures on their computer.

Sup Forums has melted your brain buddy.

Star trek tng

I actually think Kramer had the most empathy/humanity out of the four. It was subtle, but occasionally you could pick up on it. He was also the most grounded and satisfied with life, despite obviously being the quirkiest of the bunch.

The Simpsons

>(you)

what is so hard to understand about wanting to watch an optimistic show?

My So-Called Life

That's really not saying much. He was a fucking sociopath, too. He'd just as easily ruin a person's life and go on as if he'd just finished brushing his teeth.

He wasn't calculating and deviously deceptive like George, or as blindly self-involved as Elaine, or aloof to the point of psychopathic like Jerry, but he gave zero fucks.
