I'm looking for black and white Doctor Strange cinegrid, made with shots from the trailer. Does anyone have one?
why do you want that?
because it was cool
but why in black and white
www.reddit.com/r/cinegrid
lol, i made that HER grid on there. didn't realize people liked my grids enough to steal them
>steal them.
Lmao.
because it was pretending to be kino, even the name was written if i remember correctly in another language
...
...
i don't mean that in a negative way. i posted them here, so obviously people can take them and do what they like. and it's not like they're actually difficult or taxing to create.
>Tom a la ferme
nice.
thank you
T2 is way overrated - preferred T1 in every way.
...
This misleadingly makes the movie look good.
The Enemy is a masterpiece.
I prefer T1, but T2 is still a masterpiece. It's a shame that the kid was involved.
I love the look of this movie. One of the reasons Return of the Jedi is worse for me is because there is a huge drop in quality of cinematography and lighting, it looks really cheap in comparison.
Who keeps making these vertical grids? They look like shit on the screen, because everyone has 16:9 monitors
...
hater. ENEMY is a great movie. reminds me of MULHOLLAND DR., sans the last 25 minutes that serve as the key to interpreting everything. leaves itself subjective instead.
i didn't make that particular one, but i make my grids vertical because i think it looks better
Why no title cards either?
i use title cards on my newer grids such as OP and but i'm making some of these on the fly and i don't have title cards saved for everything
>hater. ENEMY is a great movie. reminds me of MULHOLLAND DR., sans the last 25 minutes that serve as the key to interpreting everything. leaves itself subjective instead.
>The Enemy is a masterpiece.
It is most certainly not MULHOLLAND DR. It is at best a 6/10 - well shot allegorical film that falls short of Lynch's brilliance because it draws from the canon of post-modern film (though mainly literature) but dosnt attempt to engage with the phenomenology directly. It makes the thing seem hollow and boring (though I agree the ending was well landed).
yeah, i wouldn't suggest that it's as good as MULHOLLAND DR. that film is a solid 10/10 for me. but i'd still consider ENEMY an 8, or at least a very strong 7.
...
So do you guys like watch a movie and mark down times that you see a cool shot or something?
Why couldn't they make a proper job of this one? The characters Britishness was an essential part of the thing - also the aesthetic and setting of oppressive 80s Thatcherite Britain.
>dat belladonna scene
i dunno what anyone else does but when i decide i want to make a grid for a movie it's usually one i've already seen. i play it back muted and skip through scenes, find shots i remember and take others as they show up
i actually really quite liked it, taken as an american interpretation of Hellblazer. i've never really insisted on the purity of adaptations, though
I think they use a coolness algorithm.
In the equation is mostly little sunglasses emojis.
my last grid for today. if this thread is still up when i get out of bed might make some more.
this is true. i use custom emojis that are wearing sunglasses, but frowning, to show that i'm sad, but i'm still cool.
That shot on the mountain with the fog is bonkers. Apparently it just happened spontaneously during the take.
why do i get the feeling that Hou Hsiao-Hsien just made them stand there until something interesting happened

Anybody have one for drive?

Anything from The Master? It was visually stunning
LotR is such an odd series. As a teen, I thought all 3 were masterpieces. But on a re-watch, its obvious Fellowship is the best, especially in terms of aesthetics, simply beautiful.
Here you go reddit
>16:9 screenshots of movies in 2.39:1
why
The different colour themes are as subtle as a ton of bricks, but they work incredibly well.
it's not meant to be subtle, it's meant to serve the narrative
Exactly, that's my point
...
/r/ing Charisma (1999), I've seen it posted before.
Repostan.
You could have just saved it with slightly more compression. Saving with quality 85/100 brings the filesize down to 2 MB.
...
A few shots from Angel's Egg.

Holy shit that piss fillter. Just kidding. I love Enemy.
Holy shit, Toronto is ugly. Can't defend that.
OP is back and he's gonna make something
would you guys rather see SORCERER or THE ROAD WARRIOR?
NEVER COMPROMISE
NOT EVEN IN THE FACE OF ARMAGEDDON
nice, i was gonna do this soon
Right I always forget this but I have now and I need a fucking answer.
Why is the sun setting in that shot with the Tie fighters on that forest planet.
Its the middle of the day before and after the shot! Im amazed how no one seems to bring it up on here of all places.
Toronto is a beautiful city user, we just have a hideous skyline cause of rampant condo construction.
>mfw hundreds of hollywood movies get shot here masquerading as new york or chicago or generic american metropolis #18523
>first time in ages a movie shot here is actually set here it makes it look like a piss-soaked hellhole
I was thinking of Vancouver, which is apparently really nice and pretty, but like with Toronto - it's a backdrop for any other American city.
Also has the world's largest sound stage
guess i'm doing SORCERER
would love to see julien donkey boy
Some nice noir stylings in an episode of Joker Game. Jazz included.
How come Sup Forums never talks about War & Peace?
i've seen it posted about occasionally but i've never actually watched it
is it worthwhile?
we done
fuck, just realized i misplaced the bottom left image
BACK INTO THE LAB
here it be
jesus i hope this kind of shit is bait.
i won't talk about whether lynch is a genius or brilliant or or some shit, such fanfare is meaningless but clearly his movies are interesting in a variety of ways that make them useful to wach and engage with. mulholland dr is considered his best generally speaking and has a lot to offer, great, saying this movie is a masterpiece and this other one isn't is childish
what the fuck does "draws from the canon of post-modern film" mean? what is "the phenomenology" that you're referring? i know what these words mean but you clearly don't, please stop posting and leave this board.
enemy is fine, the comparison to mulholland dr seems useless but whatever. enemy is fun because it forces two interpretations (it's all in his head vs. switched at birth) which both constantly contradict with the facts presented to the viewer, leading you to constantly keep two hypotheses in play much like the main themes in the film.
continental philosophy is great but you ought to actually read some actual writing on film rather just what you can find on the stanford encyclopedia
