English Premier League - 2016/17

So I decided to put (probably) the best eight teams/squads together with lineup builder.

I’ve made the transfers that are looking very likely to happen - so some players won’t be there because they’re getting sold, while some are looking odds-on to be bought. I've no doubt made mistakes or forgotten stuff so feel free to correct it/post edited versions.

So
>who has the best first XI?
>who has the best strength in depth?
>who needs to strengthen and where?
>what transfers have I missed/ones that are likely to happen?
>who’s winning the league?
>who’s finishing top 4?
>which teams will the title race be between?
>who’s going to surprise everyone and finish 10th?

And most importantly
>who’s putting their money where their mouth is with some bets?

>who has the best first XI?
Chelsea or United
>who has the best strength in depth?
City
>who needs to strengthen and where?
United need to buff up that defense
>what transfers have I missed/ones that are likely to happen?
there's so many rumors that it's hard to say
>who’s winning the league?
probably City
>who’s finishing top 4?
City, United, Arselel and Chelsea
>which teams will the title race be between?
City and Arselel.
>who’s going to surprise everyone and finish 10th?
Leceister wouldn't really be a surprise. I think West Ham is too good to finish that low. So let's go with Sunderland

I think it's going to be quite interesting because for years people have said that English team lack tactical ability but now great coaches such as Conte, Guardiola and Klopp have joined the top clubs. Additionally, the teams have a shit ton of money. If the English clubs continue to struggle over the next couple of years in the CL I think it is fair to say that the competitiveness of the PL hurts the English teams internationally.

I like your faith in >moyes. agree in general

>best first XI
Chelsea
>best strength in depth
City
>who needs to strengthen and where
>City need a new left back, Arsenal need a top-tier striker, Leicester need to spend their Mahrez money on someone, Liverpool need to replace Moreno
>who’s winning the league?
Hopefully City, but I think Chelsea/Conte could 'smash it'. Wouldn't write off a strong Spurs or Arsenal challenge though
>who’s finishing top 4?
1. City
2. Chelsea
3. Spurs
4. Arsenal
Spurs will finally do it - while I think Mourinho has a bigger job on his hands than people realise
>which teams will the title race be between?
City and Chelsea
>who’s going to surprise everyone and finish 10th?
Leicester, but nobody cares because they'll win the Champions League

>playing gündogan as your most defending mid
JUST

As well as

>silva as a CM

I assumed Pep will favour ball players over destroyers, and City will press high constantly with all players. I also expect Silva to be furthest forward, probably should be on the picture but fuck it who cares right? Right???

chelsea
city
lestah in the defence
stones has been found out as a meme player
city
city, chelsea, mouyes, arselel
city and chelsea
everton, again

OP you forgot cahill for chelsea

Where's Mahrez in that Leicester XI?

literally autism: the thread

>has to call the thread "English Premier League"

Do you think people would confuse it for the Hong Kong premier league?

Ah shit, so I did

I think he's going to Arsenal unfortunately but I hope I'm wrong

Both correct

all teams are shit

>Tottenham
>4-3-3

???

They arguably played it at times last year, only with Eriksen as a central mid and Alli as a forward.

>who has the best first XI?
Chelsea and Man U
>who has the best strength in depth?
Chelsea
>what transfers have I missed/ones that are likely to happen?
Hirving Lozano to Man U (lel not really)
>who’s winning the league?
Man U
>who’s finishing top 5?
Man U
Tottenham
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal
>which teams will the title race be between?
Man U, Chelsea and Tottenham.
>who’s going to surprise everyone and finish 10th?
Manchester City.

I want to see Poop Guardiola burning bad.

>nolito starting
>mahrez to arsenal
>henderson ahead of wijnaldum
>lovren ahead of matip
>rooney
>bacca

you wanna get a gf mate

>people on Sup Forums
>getting gfs

The only board with more virgins is /r9k/

>"English" premier league

I've got a gf lads (as if that's something to brag about) but she's not around though so I'm bored

You think United and Liverpool are gonna line up without their captains mate? The rest are just either/or, put it together for discussion not 'this is how it's going to be', I'm not the actual manager you cheeky guacemole

Why are Tottenham playing a 4-3-3 and why is Ozil a little deeper than Sanchez and Mahrez?

why didn't you post this on reddit though, that's the question

Liverpool lined up without Gerrard plenty of times in 2014/15, when he was still captain.

When Gerrad was 34 years old you mean?

>Jordan Henderson
>Only turned 26 a month ago

Because nobody paid me to do that shit. I didn't realise my autism would be out autismed by people complaining about piffling shit rather than chatting about some football

Much like Canada, I've never been and have no intention of visiting

Henderson is about as good right now as Gerrard was at 34.

what the autism?

Thath Chelsea one is a mess. No Cahill, Kenedy, Aina, players out of position all over the place
Also Morata is staying at RM

Here's a better Spurs

>Mason
>Carroll

Really hope Poch buys another CM

If Terry and Ivanovic are going to play most games then Chelsea will struggle to make top 4.

Yeah ideally one who's exactly like Bentaleb

:(

>Debele

fuck's sake

fixed

Stunned that he's on his way out, at the very least he's better than Carroll. Something must have happened between him and Poch behind the scenes, like what happened with the Kaboul Cabal in 2015.

if you're gonna include Mahrez to >arse then include some of Leicester's more realistic transfers ty

any of Luan, Lemina, Keane, Kapustka and Peres are incoming; Lawrence isn't getting anywhere near the first team and Inler is /probably/ on his way out

>Pogba in a two men midifeld
this is going to be funny

Rppmey about to be benched for Fosu mensah and his ability to fuck shit up. 2 man midfield turns into a 3 man midfield with pogba, shaw, and martial making up the left side.

Post realistic, meme free predictions for next season. I'll start:

1. Man United (could be City too)
2. Man City
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool (could be Arselel too)
5. Arsenal
6. Spurs
7. West Ham
8. Leicester
9. Crystal Palace
10. Middlesborough
11. Stoke City
12. Everton
13. Watford
14. Burnley
15. Southampton
16. Swansea
17. Bournemouth
18. West Brom
19. Hull City
20. Sunderland

>Liverpool ahead of Arsenal and Spurs

If you made a combined XI of those 3 teams, not a single Liverpool player would make it.

>15. Southampton
>le they lost their best players so they are gonna struggle meme
>they say this every year
0/10 had to be Guatemala

Clyne can and maybe sturridge (permacrocked though) but yeah the only way i see them getting top 4 is by using their flair and creativity to very high levels

Well, this time they actually lost their best players and their manager is shit.

Lloris/Cech
Clyne - Aldeweireld - Vertoghen - Moneral
Dier
Ozil - Coutinho - Sanchez
Sturridge - Kane

>Ozil on the wing instead of the middle
>Coutinho over Eriksen or Ozil
>4-1-3-2

>>who has the best first XI?
on paper United but realistically Arsenal
>>who has the best strength in depth?
City
>>who needs to strengthen and where?
If mahrez leaves Leicester need to buy a new winger, chelsea and united need a better defence
>>what transfers have I missed/ones that are likely to happen?
>>who’s winning the league?
Chelsea bc Conte/Kante duo
>>who’s finishing top 4?
Chelsea
Arsenal
City
Spurs/United
>>which teams will the title race be between?
top 3 of those
>>who’s going to surprise everyone and finish 10th
Bournemouth

>arsenal not in the top four
>meme free predictions

>implying Boro won't pull a QPR and spend a fuckton on "experienced" players then finish last
