I don't have a mega drive but I know a guy that does. I have a super nintendo locked away somewhere and all Playstations. It's really just a matter of taste but Mega Drives are very cheap, easy to find and have plenty of cool games so I can see why people who don't have the means to get a ps4 or xbox would get one

Both Master System and Mega Drive were HUGE here. They had a incredible support by the distributor that basically released everything related to them here: Sega CD, 32X, online service for MD (which only us and Japan had), accessories, exclusive ports, etc.
Unfortunally, Playstation killed all the competition in the next generation, so Saturn and Dreamcast were flops.

Because MegaDrive used MC68000 compatible products, it seems that export was prohibited to the communal area, but Finland was the west side?
I remember that Brazil did not apply tariffs on special terms on local production conditions.
But I do not remember exporting it to the communal area.

Sega Saturn has very good ports of many 2D fighting and shoot 'em up games.

plus it's not like the SNES was lacking great shoot'm up either although she had less, like Super Aleste, Pocky & Rocky, Parodius, Starwing... always though Axelay was overrated though

the Saturn had the best 2D engine of its time, even better than the generation that followed, as far as I know
unfortunately for her at this time it was all about 3D and how 3D was fucking awesome and everybody was jerking buckets over the computing power, even if the overwhelming majority of those 3D games were insanely bad
I hated this generation, FFS, I never understood why everybody was fapping for shit 3D games over great 2D games just because muh 3D
