Is This It, the first and most popular album by The Strokes was released this day 15 years ago. It is seen as a foundation and pillar for indie rock and garage rock. What does Sup Forums honestly think of this album?

>the first and most popular album by The Strokes
> It is seen as a foundation and pillar for indie rock and garage rock.
Nigger, you best be trolling
I think you need to get off their nuts nigga, they literally aren't even that great.
Really good album, but hardly the cornerstone you're making it out to be.
Dig the album, but it was about 20 years too late to pioneer either indie or garage rock. Troll?
LAAAAST NIIIITE
I think the strokes are for fags. kill yourself
Different strokes for different folks
Huge fan of the album. It reopened that sound for the early 2000's.
>It is seen as a foundation and pillar for indie rock and garage rock
A bunch of monied little fuckholes went through their uncle's record collection and decided to be a 'The Knack' tribute band. Get the fuck out of here.
I love em. The garage revival rock sound they and bands like Interpol have is refreshing.
Pretty sure I've never heard a song off that album but you go on with whatever you like, good sir.
>SHE SAAAAIIIIDDD
Same fags
qotsa already did in 1998
dis nigguh kno wat ap
Just a dirty mobile user :^)
You stupid nigga. Interpol aren't garage revival, they're straight up goth.
Just one more in the long list of One Hit Wonders..................
Except goth was 70s, there hasn't been any recent goth bands.
It's a really good, solid 9.5 out of 10 album.
>OH BABY, I FEEL SO DOWN
OH IT TURNED ME OFF
julian casablancas. Son of the guy who ran Elite models. Had all the models talk about and promote the band. All of a sudden they had cred with photographers and the fashion scene. Good for them but they are not that great
His solo stuff is good, along with Albert Hammond Jr. solo work. Both very different.
>Faggots thinking their taste and opinions is that off everyone else
What's their most popular album then, please tell me? Cause when someone brings up The Strokes, most people don't think "Oh Angles" or "It's definitely Comedown Machine" no, it's obviously Is This It. By far. Also they're a fucking cornerstone. Believe it or not. Indie Rock is popular/was made popular when? In the 00's onward. All those fucking bands that are huge today like Artic Monkeys and White Stripes were all heavily influenced by the strokes.
Kys you fucking elitist fucks..
Great album, have it on vinyl.
Since they got back together their work has been terrible though.
I'm a huge Strokes fan, but I disliked Comedown Machine. Seemed uninspired.
Angles on the other hand...damn.
I was stating fact not opinion
Stooges was the first garagerock band and qotsa reintroduced the genre with first album
I disagree. QOTSA was more about carrying the Kyuss stoner rock into something more refined. As their albums progressed they lost more and more of that raw sound. They might have had the spirit of Stooges, but that's where it stops.
