Bad b8, m8.

How do you decide which 50 or 100 or 42 albums deserve to appear on a chart when you've heard so many, liked most of them, and can only name and recall the sound of around 10?

I would recommend picking albums you want recommendations based on. So maybe go for one or two genres or something like that. I think you should make a collage with the ten albums you do remember. Seems like you're going a bit too fast and unfocused if you kinda like everything, but only recall around ten.

Having an RYM or last.fm helps to organize these things, but dug's advice is solid for the time being.

I rec'd you this on the other thread but since this one is more active: >Happy End - Kazemachi Roman

I'm not a huge fan of SDRE's Diary, I prefer LP2 much more. That is all

Put your name back on adsnhmg.
I really like this one. Got an RYM, lad?

fuckin hell I can't even shitpost right
great taste guys, u can drone me if u want :)

>would love recs from you
Okay I can try, I haven't listened half of the albums on your chart though so my recs might be inaccurate

Hiro Yanagida - s/t

Bedhead is pretty great
youtu.be/VhK7XaaDDuQ
Faster slowcore

I made this chart and I wanted to put soundtracks down the bottom to justify putting the Scott Pilgrim OST on there because I am retarded.

>it made me want to kill myself
Why?

have you heard the latest deerhoof album? kinda got that scott pilgrim vs. the world sound on some songs

Its fucking embarrassing, a bunch of spoiled brats make a dumb twee pop album about inane shit. Except they're aware of how inane it is and wink at the camera and break out into Japanese every once in a while so their audience can feel secure in that they're all laughing at the same joke "Oh they're so silly".

I can't stand it, every twee band from the last twenty years has done the same thing except some of them had the decency to try and be genuine about what kind of music they're making, not just flaking out when they realise their music isn't up to the standard of the peers.

To me KKB is like one of those really shit youtubers who joke about how shit their content is in comparison to everyone else's but joking about it just makes everyone aware of how they know their content is shit and doesn't stop it from being shit.

I can't believe I just made that comparison

I'm not a fan of them usually but I'll give it a go, thanks.

I don't like myself.

yeah, I kinda gathered it from your dislike of kkb; it's more straight up indie rock than most of their other stuff, so could work

also, here's some soundtracks and library music I like

Sven Libaek – Inner Space
Alessandro Alessandroni – Farfalla
Piero Umiliani – La Ragazza Dalla Pelle Di Luna
Stefano Liberati – Pericolo Negli Abissi
Stefano Torrosi – Feelings

but: it's not shit.

wrong chart sorry

This is going to sound quite underbaked of an opinion here... maybe you're taking it too seriously. I get it if the brand of irony isn't your cup of tea, but come on. You have HURRY UP WITH MAH DAMN CROISSANTS on your chart so why are you over-analyzing some innocent self-aware pop album?

is it that hard to understand he simply doesn't like it
lol

>lol
>reading comprehension
>trying to stop discussion
your underage is showing

Did I ask you?

was I trying to stop discussion? no
also yeah I read his post in like 1 second but I really don't care

Kill yourself tripfag.

>people just like different things or don't! just shut up and enjoy the music or go to a different video :)
you know what i mean

>I acted like a moron but I really don't care xD
Sounds good.

Thanks a lot, I'll give em a little listen.

But it is

Because HURRY UP WITH MAH DAMN CROISSANTS isn't Kanye winking at the camera, he's serious and in some weird Kanye way it probably means a lot to him.
I find i difficult talking about the lyrics of Yeezus because nearly all them are fucking terrible but even so Kanye isn't selling himself short on how terrible they are.

KKB know how terrible they're being and they're not funny either, they're not Flight of the Conchords so I'm forced to take their music on the same level as every other band I listen to.

I'm slightly insulted by how far they've gotten by doing this winking and nudging bullshit while every one else strives to be at least somewhat genuine in a musical environment where no one really gives a shit.

Maybe if they actually put a lot more effort into their music I'd forgive them for it (like I do with Yeezus) but like those twee bands they know their music isn't amazing by any stretch and because of that lack of faith they've done this thing where they can't be blamed for how shit their music is because its "just little bit of fun, stop taking it seriously" or a joke.

Even Flight of the Conchords put a lot more effort into their music and they're all songs that are meant to be played for laughs.
I actually ended up appreciating how well those two wrote and parodied so many songs back when their series was airing because of this fucking album.

fuck

your whole shtick is garbage
what do you mean

summer is killing me, does any scandi here have a free bed? i can clean and make creamy potatoes with garlic
flamingo is a catchy tune though
how drunk

惑星のかぞえかた - s/t
Susanne Sundfor - The Silicone Veil

Everything you like is trash

He means take your self-assigned moderating to YouTube where you belong.
See, I like well-produced electropop instrumentals and, imo, they put a lot of effort into making sure that they were as over-the-top as they could be on Bonito Generation. It's satire and you're comparing it to a musical comedy group which isn't the same thing. That's like comparing Freak Out (satire) to Joe's Garage (musical comedy).

But I loved the new Charli XCX ep so fuck me, right? haha

teke going hard on de digits

always a free bed for you here; I'll fix the meat then. We shall dine like kings.

i just have to save some money for the plane then

KKB shat all over poptimism and now im kind of angry
Also I forgot to mention they just ripped off these lesser known Japanese artists

youtu.be/j3FZkQTn51o
youtu.be/9ay3BhjqbCU
youtu.be/1x1C5gsMQqQ

Well then you should listen to Syzygys then.
>That's like comparing Freak Out (satire) to Joe's Garage (musical comedy).
If it's satire then the joke of "we're all rich students who don't give a shit and just bought our way in with a wink and nudge" then it's pretty fucked.
Also I hate Zappa because he could never do a single thing without winking at how stupid it all is, I know how stupid it is and Zappa was a pretentious cunt for thinking acknowledging that gave him levity above everyone else.

There's nothing wrong with Charli, she's great.

but authenticity of performance is subjective
they strike me as "post-ironic" which is factually the same thing as being sincere (but in the face of adversity through culture, vaguely), only rationalized in a contrived way
idk man i like that she's writing unironic lyrics about everyday things, things not considered important, that "serious" musicians would never think to touch but are nonetheless part of life. it's not like there is any joke to it, or any critique so like i said, where's the irony exactly?
did i not get it?

well, i think you're a pretentious cunt for getting mad over a wink

...

>the only jazz album on you chart The Epic

Holy shit you are literally a meme

I honestly would much sooner listen to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu than KKB, but I'm sorry to hear that you're letting some ironic music get to you this much. I'll throw Syzygys on my "to listen to" shit.
>I hate Zappa
Well, that sucks.
>authenticity of performance is subjective
Eh... yes and no, but I agree with the rest of your post.
Rude, but the trips don't lie.

>another tripautist circlejerk
ok

>but authenticity of performance is subjective
No it fucking isn't
>idk man i like that she's writing unironic lyrics about everyday things, things not considered important, that "serious" musicians would never think to touch but are nonetheless part of life.
Naww m8, I'd be more understanding if that was really her intent and I even liked Small Town to some extent from their other album because it was about living a mundane life in a small town and it had a much broader emotional message. And if they took an approach like that (one that The Smiths and a lot of other twee/jangle bands took) I'd be more forgiving.

To me it sounds like they don't have enough faith in their music to take it seriously, so that's why they're writing about the mundane - and they don't have anything unique to say about it either, which speaks volumes either for their winking/"satire" or the fact that they have little to no experience in life.

Well I think you're misusing that word.
