>You will never live in No Wave NYC
You will never live in No Wave NYC
>you will never live in a shitty disgusting druggy Times Square and have to sleep with rats and cockroaches every night just to go to a run down bar and listen to some assholes who can't play their instruments scream incoherently
Good lmao
I'm probably among some of the oldest people here on Sup Forums. Not only that, but I'm probably the only person who was involved in the No Wave scene. Trust me. Ya didn't want to be there really.
Thank god.
Is Lydia lunch the most unlikeable person ever?
>tfw no Ikue Mori gf
yes
No, but she's probably quite high up there
to be fair, Nard was extra annoying in this one. It's clear she wanted to be left alone, in his newer interviews at least the artists went on voluntarily
she's up there
>to be fair, Nard was extra annoying in this one.
He's annoying in all of them. I get pulling his shirt over his head and taking his hat and bullying him. But she just tries to be as edgy as possible and it's cringe inducing
i like the music, but it doesn't really seem that fun
forreal
who u
No Wave's pop-based evolution was a godsend that distanced it from these nihilistic edgelords
would still bang desu
>random asian chick in an american band
>not just having the whole thing
thanks user

yeah wasnt she known to bang every guy on earth

seemed like it would have been hard times but mad free you feel lmao it would have been pretty fun
The only NYC worse than No Wave NYC is 2016 NYC. Only by a little, even.
Learn some theory you noobs
Consider suicide.
Have you ever met Lizzy Mercier Descloux?
She would have never became famous without James Chance
Arto Lindsay was/is classically educated. He's now a very important pop composer in Brazil.
And James Chance would be nothing without Anya Phillips.
She made porn and called it art. Do yeah, probably.
For people who look at this scene and era with any level of wanderlust, I will say that it's a godsend that "cuck" has emerged as 13-year-olds' insult of choice.
will do haha
>tfw you will never live in a 'cool' city with a 'scene'
is the internet demolishing the ideas of 'scenes' anyway? Seems to me now your choices with cities now are
a) boring but cheap city where nothing happens (your hometown probably)
b) used to be great but gentrified and corporate as fuck, too expensive for anyone non-rich to live, which pushes creatives out (London, New York, Paris, etc)
Lel Brazil, fucking hell, the best they can produce is an imitation of far superior white music, riddle me that
>you will never be in a threesome with Lydia Lunch and Alan Vega
>you will never be in a threesome with Lydia Lunch and Glenn Branca
>you will never be in a threesome with Lydia Lunch and Robin Crutchfield
>you will never be in a threesome with Lydia Lunch and Lee Ranaldo
>you will never be in a threesome with Lydia Lunch and Nick Cave
>you will never be in a threesome with Lydia Lunch and Blixa Bargeld
you will never be in a threesome with Nick Cave and Blixa Bargeld
Why even live ;_;
You forgot J. G. Thirlwell

The scenes of the 80's would've never existed without the presence of peripheral 'journalist' characters. It was a charade in-and-of itself. The only way to revive the cultural aspect or as these fucking attention whoring assholes like to call it, "the scene", we have to go into our music understanding that the question is big, with many parts, and we keep inquiring because that's what we do. Also, stop calling it a "scene" because it's an annoying sounding word and you don't see music.
Someone also mentioned in the /gg/ thread that he'd prefer a root bassist who's a chill dude. I say fuck that shit. Fuck personality. Get out of the way, there's talented people out here.
She is one of my heroes, even if 13.13 is her only album I really enjoy (Teenage Jesus is great too but I've never got around to listening to Everything and just listen to the tracks from No New York)
