What should I know before I'll take a journery into ManowaR?
How to leave the hall.
There's only one problem: Glam metal is musically shit and the looks, however much they might defend your idea of macho or whatever, are appalling.
I'm ok with this
If you're a false or a poseur, don't even bother listening to Manowar. Many poseurs and false have made the mistake of thinking they could simply just sit down and casually listen to Manowar, thinking they'll be fine, only to be crushed and disintegrate under the heaviness.
The looks are great.
As for the music, it's a genre that's focused on singles rather than on albums.
So, expectedly, the albums are usually underwhelming because they're mostly filler, but the singles are consistently great.
Then there's bands like WASP who manage to make albums that are excellent from front to back.
Glam just needs a little bit more elitism.
Agreed. I myself listen to Deafheaven exclusively and I think glam metal is atrocious. Unsophosticated metal for plebeians still caught up in their delusional riff mindset.
true.
Nobody tells a man how to play.
It just ain't that way.
I'm dying
Fuck off. How is it a bad album?

They're the best 80s band when they're glam too.
so when does motorhead turn to shit? or should i just go ahead and download all of their albums?
They never turn to shit, but they have some weaker records.
>of the 80s
>posts a track from their 2002 album
Wew lad, step it up and post something from the 80s.
Literally the best traditional/power metal song of all time
youtube.com
Never.
This is from their final album.

Motörhead has always been proto-groove and forever remained proto-groove even when groove metal's popularity faded away.
That is accurate.
>THOR, THE MIGHTY, THOR, THE BRAVE
>CRUSH THE INFIDELS IN YOUR WAY
wait a second
"infidels"?
Are we talking about Thor or about some judeo-arabic sandpeople god?

power metal by default is a branch of speed metal you dip, you can't be power metal and speed metal at the same time
>tfw Lemmy never put out a bad album
>even when he was dying of cancer he put out good shit
RIP Lemmy you lived longer than you should have but not long enough
youtube.com
is that a new recording of DMDS or something?
Live version.
You proved yourself wrong by mentioning Thundersteel.
Power Metal and Speed metal are both separate offshoots of Judas Priest, and they sometimes cross over again.
They never turned to shit, but everything after the album you posted is too samey and you won't miss any life altering experiences if you stop listneing there.
>Overrated Priest
>making not even one but two subgenres
topkek
everything before orgasmatron is pretty samey too so i think i'll take my chances
Is Eurobeat technically Speed Disco or is it Power Disco?
Both?
But it was uniquely samey at the time. Besides there's a clear jump at 1980.
To be honest you could just stick with Live 'Til Hammsersmith and be done with Motörhead's discography.
whats the best thrash yurop scene?
False, power metal branched off of speed metal in the early 80s, largely thanks to Riot transitioning from a speed metal band and into a power metal band, and bands like Manowar and Jag Panzer taking a much more louder, and speed driven approach to traditional metal while being more melodic than most speed metal. Power metal was a counterculture to thrash metal, which too branched off of speed metal, but unlike power metal, thrash brought much more extreme influences into the genre, from the early hardcore punk scene and whatnot, which a lot of the initial power metalfags didn't want so they tried to incorporate extremity into metal without the punk influence, which is why you see bands like Agent Steel and Manowar get into borderline harsh vocals plenty of times.
Are you being serious
sup /metal/ rec me some comfy winter metal albuns.
sodom
Serbian. Nadimac is kickass.
Post metal songs where the riffs give you feels.
Unless you understand Speed Metal to have two epochs (first one being basically Motörhead and the second one being characterised by bands like Exciter) then you're rambling mad.
