Why did you learn English? Pic unrelated.

Esperanto estas la pasporto al la tuta mondo!
Does this mean something like "Esperanto is the passport to the whole world"? If so then it's basically a romance language.
Because i have no reason to learn slavic languages))0))0
So, really, what language nowadays really more important than english? Chinese? German? Russian? (spanish speakers are scum)
Why so rude?
>Esperanto is the passport to the whole world
>mfw I understoond the same thing
Is esperanto the real Latin-lingua franca?
Fuck, even I understood that and the closest to another language I speak is tourist Italian.
La vortoj devenas de diversaj lingvoj. La plejparto venis kaj venas el la ĉefaj eŭropaj lingvoj - precipe el la latina, la hispana, la franca, la germana kaj la angla. Pro la internaciemo, multaj etimoj apartenas al pluraj lingvoj eĉ se la konkreta formo en Esperanto similas pli al tiu de unu lingvo.
I happened to learn it because I couldn't bear waiting for a translation to the Harry Potter books and for subtitles to episodes of Lost.
I was a teenager and I didn't think for a minute that I was learning english, I was just trying to understand the aforementioned media.
I make $40 per hour translating moonrunes to English in my room.
Interesting please complete this test. I want to see the size of your vocabulary.

It takes 5 minutes. And please answer honestly.
Sorry. All this mexican narcokartels or gangsters in s.a.. What spanish-lang people do at all?
Esperanto is harder for Asians to learn than English because of the case. Keep it to yourselves, European autists.
how about russian?

bretty good. I can read all of that.
>serves no purpose other than communicating with autists on the internet
>English
...except it is a language well known to basically any western developed nation, young scandies foor example are pretty much confirmed to speak or read english fluently
W-why I understand everything of this?
Because it was designed by a team of linguists to have all the most common features of Western European languages, so even Americans can learn it.
>What spanish-lang people do at all?
Being richer than you and growing.
Mexico is actually growing as any developing nation should, unlike Russia.
>한국사람 이나 미국사람 입니까?
Korean
>미국사람 이면 얼마동안 한국어를 배웠습니까?
I learned English for about six year since I was 14. I'm 20 now.
>어떻게 그 직업을 찾았습니까?
Not telling a potential competitor because I'm an ass.
It's very effective then. Honestly I have difficulties about some words, but 90% of this is easily understandable.
Russia is even harder because it has the gender too. Also the script is another psychological barrier.
But there are quite some Koreans who learn Russian.
>so even Americans can learn it
Can you understand it without learning?
If yes, about how many %?
English vocabulary is 60% French/Latin.
I-i thought it was 30%
I can understand/read it, but I can't speak it.
제한국어 실력 아주 좋으면 "번역하는사람"으로 직장할수있다고 생각합니까? 지금은 공군으로 근무하고있어서 한국어를 배우고있습니다. 한국어를 배우는것이 시작한지 8개 월이되었는데 한국실력은 이렇게 입니다.
Done, pic related.
To clarify, that happened 2006-2008 I believe, and since then I read some random novels in english now and then, watched many other tv shows/movies as anyone else, i'm pretty sure the novels were what actually taught me english.

Yeah, I can understand it pretty well, or at least 90% of it.
Pretty curious, it looks way more latinized than anything else.
I think, kirillic script much better than latinic for slavic languages. Hard to believe that anyone consider it alien or just psychological barrier.
There is no gender in korean language? Or you mean in cases?
I think he was referring to Esperanto.

I already know how Esperanto was made up, but I meant that in that phrase you only used words directly derived from latin and/or the romance languages.
Even what you have just written is a bit understandable.
Could you translate it so I can see if I really understood some of it?
? I don't know, what do russians do?
Understood almost everything but I don't catch words like esseva, easer, appellate, etc.
30% dans le langage parlé
You have the same size of vocabulary as adequately-educated 31 year old English native speakers. Pic related. I'm more or less the same as you (25,000). Trying to surpass the 30,000 threshold through reading.
I think it could be possible. Translating from Korean to English pays much better than translating from English to Korean because any Korean who can "understand" English can do the latter because they can write Korean fairly well unless they have brain damage. The former, you need to know how to write good English. So you are actually in a good position here.
This man I know translates from English to Korean and makes like $4,000 a month. If he did English-Korean, he would make at least $6,000.
Some translators with specialties (medicine, technology, I think military could also be a specialty) make six-figure salaries. All Korean-English.
But the thing is, I've never seen a foreigner working as a translator. But I think that's because not many of them apply. It is all about your skills here. No fancy college degrees. So if you're good, you could make it I think.
Just stay away from English-Korean. It's not worth it.
>esseva,
estaba
>esser,
ser
>appellate
llamado
Forgot pic.
Also your Korean needn't be "very good". You only need to be good enough to understand it perfectly.
Oh right, thanks, but I think that in this case esseva meant fue/era instead of estaba.
"The words come from diverse languages. The majority [most-part] came and come from the chief European languages -- principally Latin, Spanish, French, German, and English. For internationality, many [etymologies??] belong to many languages [??] the concrete form in Esperanto is similar in more than one language.
space rockets, nuclear reactors, physics, i don't know.
but mostly sitting on slavery job and eat sundry shit
but i still have no dream to move in this countries
yes my spanish isn't good
estaba is "i was" i think
He means gender in nouns/cases, which yes Korean doesn't have
people are lazy. they don't want to learn another script.
korean has neither gender nor case.
