thats the worst color you could have picked. im disappointed in you.
Grayson Allen
i'm sorry. to minimize this what colour pickguard should i put on it? it's white currently
Angel Jones
Thinking about buying a JC-120 I saw locally and run some stuff in stereo.
Hunter Bell
Yes or no?
Ryder Nelson
Starter Guitar and amp for Christmas? sorry if you get this question from time to time.
John Murphy
Squier Telecaster
Benjamin Perry
its a fender
Easton Butler
I think black with white is fine.
Ian Hughes
good gravy that is a lot of expensive pedals
Hudson Lee
I don't know I've never used those. I think some guy here just ordered one though.
Aiden Powell
Anyone have a Tera Echo? How are those?
Samuel White
one of those pedals that you go "oh that sounds cool!" but then only use for one song ever.
Hudson Nelson
I'm watching the Andertons video right now but I don't have the time to finish it.
I just want something nicer to replace my Marshall MG because this thing sounds like ass.
Samuel Hughes
I'm drooling man...
Juan Fisher
As a proud owner of pic related, I approve of this being the first post. I'll be playing Ibanez products until the day I die or am unable to play anymore.
Jonathan Taylor
Yuh, but he is kind of a Cornell clone so it makes sense. The dude is still a class act though.
Brayden Lewis
Just ordered this to be my overdrive pedal for my set up. Anyone have any experience with them?
Xavier Richardson
So I've been playing guitar for about a decade now and recently started getting interested in mathrock and shred guitar stuff, where is a good place to start with Ibanez guitars? Like are the high end Rg models supposed to be what I'm looking for or what?
Jose Butler
Acoustic fingerstyle player trying out electrics for the first time here. How can I avoid muddiness? I try turning up my treble and mids but my basslines are still muddy as fuck (granted I play with my bare fingers, my natural nails are too shitty for steel string). Using fingerpicks helps a lot but I hate the feel of them. Suggestions?
Ayden Cook
Yeah, check out the Prestige RG and S series. Great guitars
Logan Bennett
aww i love the bass my thumb gives me. get a bright single coil guitar
Zachary Stewart
I've owned their Iron Label guitars before, 2 of them. And I've played their higher end stuff too. Their RG and S lines are tailor made for metal and shred, so any one will do, and their top level stuff rivals or beats any top level stuff of other brands.
Jason Perry
Get a strat, not even memeing. Those single coils are going to give you the clear tone you are looking for.
>Fellow fingerpicker
Leo Taylor
If I was in your shoes I'd buy a jc120 clone (fender ultimate chorus, yamaha g100, etc) and use pedals. Modeling amps vary wildly in quality and though I haven't played the katana it's cut from the same cloth as some of my amps.
Jose Gonzalez
Are stock MIM pups really bad? I've been rocking them out ever since I got it 7 months ago. What am I missing out on?
Samuel Cook
fender stealing 200$
Caleb Campbell
What do you think of their Iron Label guitars?
Charles Clark
aside from the single coil pickup suggestions above, try playing closer to the bridge.
Jace Martin
Get an ESP LTD M-10 and a mustang 1 amp. It's a good combination and they're the cheapest guitars and amps that aren't complete shit
Luis Nelson
this too
Nathan Bell
>Are stock MIM pups really bad?
No. They're usually decent.
Christian Young
Good pickups for metal/shred ?
Adrian Bennett
Thanks for advice. Will check out single coils. Nice to know there are fellow fingerpickers on /gg/. open tunings 4 lyfe
Aiden Rodriguez
>starter gear >a modeling amp that requires extensive eq work and pedal tweaking for every preset
no
Brandon Cooper
i think im in the same boat as you. i could never get the hang of thumb picks. feels weird being that far away from the string.
Nicholas Perez
>noise suppressor at the beginning of the chain why even have it?
Jackson Watson
if extreme poverty: ibanez gio (and a set of new fingers) peavey rage 158 (40 bucks, LOUD, actually not that bad) if less extreme poverty: mim strat tokai sg or anything really if you can get it under 400 epiphone lp
if not poverty: idk man lp studio or some crap
Elijah Adams
>extensive pedal tweaking You don't get to tweak the pedals, the effects are either what you want or they're not. It's also not complicated at all, though some people assume it is because muh amp modeling I also only use 3 presets, and that's all most beginners would really need
Zachary Thomas
who /kiesel/ here?
Leo Peterson
I've owned 2 of them. The first one was their original Iron Labels when they first started making them. I absolutely loved it and played the shit out of it. I ended up selling it to my best friend for cheap because he had some financial stuff come up and had to sell his own guitar. Otherwise I'd still have it.
And ever since they released the first ones, they've been improving them ever since, with new pickup variations, coil spliting, locking tuners, and more. I've gotten myself another one and it's my main guitar I play all the time. Literally my only complaint and it's not even bad is that some of the fret ends were a little sharp, which could mean they weren't filed enough at the factory, or the wood shrank at some point, which is normal. Just filed them up and it's perfect.
Leo Johnson
Can you post a pic of yours? Every video I see of one, the lightning makes it seen either too dark, or even greenish. Im between his and a Schaeffer km6 in white.
Zachary Cruz
>You don't get to tweak the pedals
Stop giving out advice when you have no idea what you're talking about
Levi Robinson
EMG 81 and 85s. SD Super Distortions.
I've really got my eye on the Bareknuckle Warpigs. Supposedly they're like better sounding SD Invaders.
Leo Reed
Learn your shit first.
Grayson Gomez
didn't know sam hyde played the bass
Jace Ortiz
Also, the eq consists of bass, treble, volume, and gain. Not complicated. I don't know why they don't have a mid knob, but for a beginner that doesn't really matter
Dominic Flores
It sounds really bad, really tinny sounding.
Ian Bailey
I've had an ibanez acoustic for ~13 years now, my low E string doesn't ring out or sustain like it used to, its kind of muted and isn't due to the strings. I'm admittedly pretty oblivious to guitar repair/maintenence. Im thinking it might be the polymer saddle, its a little worn down. Anything I can do to improve the timbre of my strings to a brighter sound? (I use cleartones and that helps a bit)
sorry if that made no sense, ive been drinking to numb the pain of the holidays
Angel Lee
Just got the Nano POG today. My bass tone > your bass tone.
My Pedaltrain Nano is overflowing
Jose Edwards
>no mid knob
How can you people even give out advice when you don't know how to use your own gear?
Chase Young
I'm talking about the amp alone. If you do want to make it complicated then go right ahead but when I was starting I wasn't worried about having the perfect tone
Andrew Price
You know, the physical amp?
Isaiah Barnes
The flamed maple lines aren't as nice in person, but who cares? I love this one's pickups, they're DiMarzios, and it's got a coil splitter.
Anthony Clark
Idk why the pic is upside down, but I assume you'll use that to insult me, so go ahead
Brandon Roberts
>Schaeffer km6 in white That was supposed to be Schecter, yeah? I was in the same place as you earlier this year, and I ended up buying the KM6 at first. There were definitely some quality issues from the factory. The neck pickup kept inching up so I'd have to screw it back down every 30 minutes and the frets just felt bad, kinda like they were clunky and almost "sticky". I also found the pickups were a bit more nasally-sounding than what I was expecting. Instead of trying to fix up the guitar I sent it back and bought an RG Prestige for a couple hundred more. Definitely made the right choice in the end
William Ramirez
In this vein, to the fucking retard who last thread thought I meant the Line 6 amps, you're fucking stupid as shit because I said the multi effects pedal.
Also to the other guy who linked the programmable looper, those are expensive as shit and while REALLY FUCKING USEFUL, most people wouldnt need it.
Matthew Evans
Looks really nice. In fact I like subtle flames instead of full PRS flame bullshit. The only thing I don't quite like for the model is the back, natural finish. I find the contrast weird.
>Schaeffer Fucking autocorrect. Yeah I meant that. Well shit, that's a bummer. I tried one at a store and felt really nice, so maybe thatwas a "Friday guitar". Then again, I've seen some stories pop up about ups and downs with that model, like the oxidized finish after some months
Aaron Stewart
Is that nitro?
Caleb Rivera
>The only thing I don't quite like for the model is the back, natural finish. I find the contrast weird I love it The more I see it, the more I like it. I think it's gorgeous.
Carter Martinez
>check out Japanese Fender website >notice the layout of the website changed >go to Electric Guitars section >looking through sweet JP-exclusive guitars >something's amiss >MH MG69 Mustang isn't on the list >mfw they've stopped production of matching headstock mustangs for the gimped new MIM hardtail one
J U S T U S T
Gavin Ortiz
GOD DAMMIT PAYDAY GET HERE ALREADY
Cameron Ramirez
How do I know whether to use locrian or diminished scale. And if I need to use diminished scale then which one do I use?
Benjamin Ross
just be yourself
Grayson Rogers
So HSS Fender deluxes are $800 and HSS standards are $600. Should I fork out the extra cash or is it not worth it?
>mfw these are basically the pedals I want/need for my future gigs
Also noob question, why put a noise suppressor after the octave and compressor pedals and not before them?
Blake Sanchez
Of course there's still a bunch on the used market (I saw a couple of them on Reverb).
I'm just a bit sad they're not making them anymore.
Matthew Martinez
You a bassist as well? These pedals are great. Literally all I need for a great tone. No big ass amp rig necessary. At practice I plug in to an FRFR PA speaker, and at gig I just go into the venue's PA. Its great.
I put the noise suppressor right before my preamp because, depending on the environment, the power source as well as the connections between the pedals can all be a little noisy, and this just helps to keep noise levels consistently low.
Logan Wilson
>want a pedal >don't know anything about them
Jace Mitchell
>guitar necks that aren't satin
Leo Miller
Literally me.
Jacob Turner
>tfw too autistic to choose an amp What amp head would you guys buy if you had 800 bucks? I am looking for one that can get dem mutulz tonez, but also have a nice clean channel. Ilike being versatile.
I meant more like I don't know anything about what does what, what order stuff goes in, front of the amp vs back of the amp stuff, what to combine with others. It's all so much to know that I just play through my amp and am good. I have a foot switch that switches from my clean to dirty channel, and that's it.
Michael Butler
>Jcm2000 dsl Man, I have heard so many things about that amp. Both good and bad, I might just buy it. I have found some great prices on that thing. Have you had any experience with it user?
Benjamin Robinson
>You a bassist as well? Yeah, my band and I have been playing in some local and some not so local venues for shits and giggles. We've decided to take this shit more seriously and step up our game. Hell I've been playing gigs for almost 3 years and I've just bought my first amp about 3 weeks ago.
Half of pedals is playing them and finding a sound you like. It's trial and error until you find something you're into. In order to do that I'd need money to get pedals.
