explain this
That one Now, Now album
...
So...songs found on youtube?
That could be almost anything.
His album from a few months back was really good
No, the ones that are particularly popular on YouTube because of their recommendation algorithm. This () is a pretty good example.
...
That Tycho guy
...
hey i listened to this for the first time on youtube
WELL IM NOT PARALYZED BUT I SEAMED TO BE STUCK BY YOU
ugh, those days were unbearable.
...
Any instrumental hip hop with an anime picture or some shit
...
low roar is actually good though
I never implied any of these were bad, I always see these as Youtube recs. Haven't heard a bit of them
...
holy fuck this
i fucking hate this album, its like well produced muzak, pisses me off that i hear people talk about it like its legitimate
Yeah, it's music that should have never left SoundCloud.
>I loved it in highschool, now it sounds like bargain bin boc to me.
...
i didnt mean to greentext lol
well problem is that when you first hear it you probably have not heard way too fucking much of the stuff it tries to sound like. then you listen to way too much of it and the problem is not the music its that youve heard too much like it and are tired of it.
i fucking loved this song in 9 th grade
...
Can't stand the string melody on this song, it's so cheesy. The track sounds like if FlyLo decided to try and be as boring as possible.
>snare snare
it's a high hat you dingus
...
music for normies to 'chill' to i.e. not really listen to because there's not really much there
Eat a dick nigga
unfortunately, the eDgYsExyViDeO ''muh risque'' has pushed it into YouTube-core.
>normie youtube 2007 indie mix listener fag detected
Black Sands is really good but his last two albums were really not great
classic
>play a jazz song
>feed covered in Coltrane and Herbie Hancock
>play a jazz album
>feed covered in Chet Baker, Miles Davis and Stan Getz
I can't seem to get anything else, no matter what I play. What is the recommendation algorithm going off exactly? If you play something obscure it simply does not seem to know what to suggest
i thought it was fine then i could not listen to it for more than 30 seconds, skipped through song and realize he does not have a single other idea on there. absolutely dull.
...
These are aaalways in the rec's
but this is a good song
New Order the Substance compilation
I hope some of those plebs give a try to Power,Corruption and Lies
>not posting actual youtubecore
step aside nerds
Essential Youtubecore coming through
This
Every 2008 video
What level of irony would you say this video is?
>lame impala
What is youtubecore?
2
absolute zero. someone put a lot of effort into that and they were completely serious
let's not forget literal YouTube-core
...
Prolly because (a) the algorithm probably gives you recs based on what other people who've also watched videos you've watched have also watched and (b) the algoritgm is probably based on heuristics.
Since other people who listen to obscure music probably listen to more obscure music (that other watchers of the same video haven't listened to) with a couple of exceptions that are more popular, such as miles davis.
Since many of these people have listened to miles davis, the counter for miles davis is much higher than the other, more obscure, videos.
This makes recs for miles davis much more likely.
n.b. watched = listened to here
Sorry for the CS rant
Tame Impala has always been YouTube-core
WELL IM NOT PARALYZED
BUT I SEEM TO BE STRUCK BY YOU
I WANNA MAKE YOU MOVE
BECAUSE YOU'RE STANDING STILL
...
>not liking old ytmnd memes
Substance is as good if not better than PCL tho
for some reason on youtube there is a group of random indie pop albums/songs that have an extremely high view count
Only band to ever benefit from the Youtube copyright system
A lot of royalty-free songs. This one has 198 million views...
Just found the remake and it has 821 million, fuck me.
we are all seeing thesame recommended videos
>click here to subscribe for more of our songs
>click here to check out our latest song
God I hate youtube commentary
yeah, say what you want about mogwai and tycho, this stuff is waaaay worse
ughh ive heard this song a million times from my normie brother's room
youtube.com
this whole fucking channel of "lowfi hiphop" where every single album samples the same 3 fucking piano songs
Sorry I had to put you through that again.
>listening to random popular songs on YouTube
Don't think I ever did this, even when I was in middle school. I don't recognize a single song ITT
test
It didn't work
What's up with those, I don't even listen to anything similar?
youtube.com

how old are you?
why does everything have to be ironic?
DELETE THIS!!
Is Substance really Youtube-core? I liked both records for different reasons, but really?
>tfw love cigarettes after sex and thought it was sort of unknown slowdiveish post-chillwave bandcamp-core
>tfw a literal pleb
>thought it was sort of unknown slowdiveish post-chillwave bandcamp-core
how was I supposed to know, I found them through bandcamp, I quit last.fm and rarely see people talk about them here
fuck, what else am I unaware of
Awake is his best album
Reminds me of this:
