I just saw Green Room

I just saw Green Room

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

What does Sup Forums think about this movie?

It was really good.

I would like to talk about it if there was a torrent

Theater, cunt.

Also I liked it a lot, I appreciated it, but it wasn't what I was expecting at all.

terrible

>Theater, cunt.
It's not being shown anywhere around here tbf

Does it have anything to offer besides "muh brutality"?

Be honest.

3 words

Hella. Fuckin. Epic.

3 words

BACK. TO. REDDIT.

Same here I had to drive 30 mins to the only theater showing the movie in my area and the drive was worth it really good movie

This movie was too mean spirited. They always make the white supremacists look like bad guys.

Care to elaborate on that?

nope,

and honestly the brutality is boring af,
doesn't even have the effect of your cheap gore porn.

it's a dumb slasher movie "done up" sorta indie/thriller-ish that's really boring.

I think it's kind of supposed to be a "feel bad" movie, like, it bums you out on purpose but there's no redeeming quality to it.

I was really excited for it because i liked Blue Ruin and the premise sounded cool but it was disapointing.

Your response tells me that no, it doesn't have anything else to offer and is a one-trick pony of a flick that will be forgotten in a few years time.

GAY

Why is Captain Picard in this?

Better if you go in with no expectations, judge it solely on artistic merit

It's an arthouse slasher.

really flat underdeveloped characters, the plot/narrative was really clunky and ploddy, cartoony gore, the premise just ended up being kina gimmicky too.

the whole touring punk band thing was interesting but then, it's like, just a horror/slasher movie.

With a premise like this I feel it should, or at least, could have been more fun. It was very serious and almost mean. i guess that was on purpose but it made the movie hell to sit through. I was starting to fall asleep by the end.

garbage meme shit plebs like you would eat up

>White supremacist skin heads are currently the world's greatest threat.

This is truly the most relevant movie ever made.

I thought Poots (heh) slicing the guy's stomach open and Stephen Stills getting shotgun blasted were the best gore parts desu.

Stills in particular, broke the once sacred rule of "Silence=Death in horror", which I liked.

Do you have anything to offer the world, besides "muh criticisms"?

Be honest.

when the chick did that was one of the moments that took me out of the film. It's just really cartoony.

>underdeveloped characters
Actually I thought they developed them fairly well.

Gabe (the bouncer dude who got the red laces) surrendering at the end was an interesting touch.

Jesus, this girl was such a qt 3.14.

>tfw no nazi waifu

that's like his second scene in the movie.
it's not set up, we don't really know anything about him
while watching it felt like it was just inserted just to set up some escape thing,
but then it doesn't matter cause he's killed like a scene later. It goes no where. He's only purpose was to the die in the surprising death scene. this is underdeveloped.

they don't take the whole "traitors" plot-point anywhere either.

Amazing suspense, genuine horror, and the feeling that you ran a marathon after it ends.

can't argue with this

I was lucky enough to see it on the last showing up here. So ducking glad I did.

Wait, shit, am I thinking of the wrong guy?

The dude who was like "I wanna go to prison" at the end, leads poots and Chekov out of the place.

this. it's just a really well executed thriller. i you can't into that i don't know

oh i think i was my bad.

Yeah, Idk, I don't remember a lot about him. He's a new guy to the gang i think, then gets the laces, then surrenders. I don't know, there's not much to him either.

I honestly feel that it was more horrifying then the last few horror movies I've seen.

>gripping suspense
>great atmosphere
>looks dirty and gross but in a good way
>patrick stewart's amazing performance
>doggos

it's not though
you guys
it's really boring and dumb

what it really feels like, is like when you been jerking off for hours and your too tired and achey to finish this last one but you just keep going then you finish and it's the most unsatisfying jerk and you just really regret it and wish you had more self discipline.

I guess.

On second thought, they did underdevelop a little. I still liked 'em though, they made the world feel a little more fleshed out. You only got little bits and pieces of 'em, sure, but it was enough to let your mind wander.

I need to see it again, knowing what I'm getting into this time. Was expecting 10 Cloverfield levels of OH SWEET FUCKING SHIT so I was tensed up the whole time, but when you're like that you miss a whole lot of things.

here (You) go, friend

yeah I know what you mean, about "bits and pieces". with characters i think you can have some of that implied character stuff but mix it with deliberate stuff too.

some deliberate stuff i caught was that they call one
of their friends "jiu jitsu" early on when he threatens some guy and then he uses his moves later, so it's like, Oh this guy knows stuff and it's useful. That's development/a somewhat fleshed out character

idk what math rock has to do with this movie
but albini is wrong, math rock rules.

that's pretty hollow character development too.

I know but it's the most the movie ever gives you

not playing near me, link anyone?

>le ebil nazis xD

Loved this movie but god damn I keep wearing unintentionally racist stuff. In the movie it's a big deal getting your red bootlaces because you finally spilled blood for the cause. A while ago my work-boot laces broke and I replaced them with red para-cord. That wasn't the first time either, I was wearing a skull & crossbones beltbuckle and some guy who was clearly a skinhead gestured to it, nodded and pointed to a tattoo of the Totenkopf (s&cb on an SS officer's hat). Belt was a completely different style btw.

I got some nordic runes tattooed on my neck because I love Norse mythology. Problem is if my hair is too long (which it often is because muh-Vikings) it looks like I have an "SS" just behind my ear. You'd be surprised how many people notice approvingly. Even legit had the most clean-cut business dude once say "14/88" to me, fucking surreal

Exactly, they co-opt so much shit at some point it gets confusing. That's always an awkward situation to be in; you kind of have to be chill about it, neither confirming or denying, to keep from getting on their bad side. At work (hardware store) I try not to look at everyone's tattoos too closely just in case they are skinheads.

how nu-male can you fags be?

white power, race war soon friends

So, is this shit any good?

I'm sure you'll contribute a great deal from the comfort of your basement.

yeah, it's better
solid 7.5, maybe an 8

they actually dont bother to go into the politics of it. shit one of the nazis is even sympathetic

I'm gonna fuck your wife for starters, but don't worry, she's gonna get her pussy slammed by a real aryan bull

...

Nah, she's imaginary and doesn't go for the fatties anyway.

nazi punks FUCK OFF!

great movie, like the dynamics between each of the groups, the camaraderie of the band and the hierarchy of the skinheads

kek

>all these buzzwords
Totally valid

Math rock was good for a very short period of time with a small amount of artists then was appropriated into faux emo shit

Nobody said they were the greatest threat

Yeah, not in a lot of theaters, you're off the hook.

This was a great movie. A tight hour and a half, really hits hard, I was stressed the fuck out for most of it.

I know a lot of punk kids in real life and I hate them. I thought for sure I would be into seeing all these kids get wasted and I was wrong. Not sure where the movie won me over but it happened.

Fuck this movie is good.

>tfw no theater less than a border hop and 2 hours drive is playing it here
>tfw no torrent

fug

i just want my nazi punx

Man, eat shit.

This movie is fucking tight, a solid 1:30 with great pacing, it subverts expectations like crazy, there is no prep for the hard moments. This film makes viewers intimately familiar with a small space in a short amount of time which makes it incredibly engaging. I can see people (especially alt-right Sup Forums) not giving a shit about the characters but fuck that, because they're more than just "degenerate youth" there are tools in the plot to show they're just kids, just people, and I think that's important.

This is a good flick. Really worth a watch, even if a torrent at some point is your only choice.

I thought the best gore part was the dude getting his arm hacked into desu. I know it happened offscreen but when you saw the aftermath and it looked real, literally 1:1 to real life gore pics you see.

It was hard to watch. It's literally Jew propaganda. They're trying to make you afraid of white supremacists while ignoring all of factual reality.

>WHITE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BE AROUND WHITE PEOPLE ARE PURE EVIL, IGNORE ALL STATISTICS GOY!

>There's no such thing as dangerous skinheads

You're a fucking idiot.

>I didn't like this movie because it's Jew Propaganda
>Posts angry white guy propaganda

0.000000001% of the white pop vs 1-in-10 blacks

I personally thought it didn't go too preachy with that stuff. The skinheads want to get rid of them because they witnessed a murder.

Their politics didn't really factor into it much. The movie just establishes that this is a group of tough fuckers you don't want to mess with. It'd be more or less the exact same movie if it had been a Hell's Angels bar or something.

6% of the population (black males) commit half of all murders.

So? We can still agree that there are white supremacist groups that exist, right? So the movie isn't unrealistic by portraying one. In fact, skinhead punk bands are an established thing going back decades. You clearly didn't do your research as much as the film did.

>We can still agree that there are white supremacist groups that exist, right?
What's wrong with that?

Patrick's performance wasn't "amazing", he could have been replaced by almost anybody. In fact I didn't like such a frail looking person leading such brutal people.

He wasn't bad, but he wasn't great either. He just said his lines and called crack "nigger dope".

I'm not going to bother debating the merits of white supremacy with you. My point is that the movie isn't being unrealistic by having a skinhead bar in it and that's all.

>CDC reports
>white guy propaganda

Kids these days. If a performance doesn't involve screaming and flying spittle, it's not a great performance.

Stewart had nuance, and subtlety. He delivered his lines very carefully, quietly but with purpose. It was great.

I don't see any CDC reports. All I see is a bar graph claiming them as a source. Sheep.

Eh, no.

No real subtlety. He just said his lines. He just ordered others around. The "quietly but with purpose" works best in books so the viewer imagines it. In movies, especially this one, he came off as weak. Smaller than literally everyone, too old to lend any sort of helping hand, just has some good ideas about making the band disappear.

Macon Blair had the best performance in this movie. His entire feelings about what he had gotten himself into was told entirely through subtle facial expressions during conversation with other characters. It shouldn't even surprise the viewer at all that he wants to surrender, his face was telling us he was having cold feet despite never saying it and even getting rewarded for his actions. That's subtlety.

Gonna have to agree to disagree I guess.

Actually, I agree Blair had the best performance of the film, but Stewart was a close second.

Looks like it.

I just think he wasn't a good fit. I don't know what it is about Safe House exactly, but there's just something about it that Stewart performance that I don't think he'll ever be able to beat.

Why does this movie have to be relevant?

Patrick Stewart was horrible in this.

Fucking Christ you guys are pure condensed cringe.

>Sheep

Nice buzzword.

Dunno about you user but I live in the Pacific NW and I can tell you from firsthand experience it is shockingly accurate to the underground punk scene here. Down to almost every last detail.
