>Not mentioning Psycho

ok.

has any Hitchcock movie aged well and is watchable and not a total snoozefest ?

Nearly all of them

rear window

nah psycho sucks dick

Rear Window, Strangers On A Train, Rope, Psycho and North By Northwest.

the top 6 on there are v watchable

>rear window
I almost fall asleep on that one.
>Psycho
boring really, the sequels were a tad better.
>North By Northwest.
boring

wtf is this airbrushed?

>Fantastic use of sound
>One of the most iconic scenes in cinema
>Good plot twist
>Great acting (especially by Perkins)
>Fantastic editing
>Well written dialogue
>Good suspense
>Beautiful music

I think you're in the wrong here.

git gud

(You)

Now fuck off

Bernard Herrman is too good.

by this point herrmans cattleprod style of music had lost its mojo. the acting was p bad (especially perkins), the script wasnt good it was lazy (like a lot of his later work) - i think hitchcock was senile well before he croaked - & in general it was more like one of his tv show episodes.

Bernard Herrman penned Souvenirs de Voyage and he doesn't need me to defend him to you, the only people that think the acting in this movie is bad were people who just didn't get it, Hitchcock's script and editing were excellent.

>by this point herrmans cattleprod style of music had lost its mojo
What are you talking about? The music for the shower and the staircase murder were almost perfect. How has that lost it's mojo?

>the acting was p bad (especially perkins)
Gotta disagree once again. He delivered his lines very naturally. Just look at this, it's like the camera isn't even there youtube.com/watch?v=iTLUzEjV3Bg

>the script wasnt good it was lazy (like a lot of his later work)
And disagreeing with this once again. I've got massive respect for Hitchcock for going into this direction with his script. At the time it was the most controversial thing in Hollywood.
The story also goes into a very different direction than the audience would suspect by killing the protagonist. I think this is not lazy at all.

Listen here. I'm big Hitchcock fan, saw all of his films multiple times, so my list will be the only correct one.
1. Vertigo
2. Psycho
3. Rear Window
4. North by Northwest
His other works are not very important to be mentioned.

>His other works are not very important to be mentioned.
What a load of crap.

Rebecca is really the only rewatchable Hitchcock movie.

Of course I can rate all of them, but pretty much only these 4 I mentioned are masterpieces.

wasn't really attacking herrman thou. & a lot of hitchcock's later work was lazy, around the time he started to use colour, he stopped looking through the camera. and perkins was overacting.

tb h dog i wasnt feelin his energy
>n-n-no there isnt
yea hes really great
psycho was popular & hence controversial but nothing new (diabolique, touch of evil)

lmao

i might be biased towards rebecca because of selznick tbf

but hitchcock himself said shadow of a doubt was his best

I don't really agree with there being nothing new.
We had some sort of sympathy with the killer, there was realistic murder (on a naked person) and the sexual explicitness

film noir bruh bruh
pre-code bruh bruh

well i disagree. the same way, for instance, nolan can say his best is interstellar because he thinks so, but in reality it is one of his weakest. i'm not a nolan fan, just an example

in 30 years maybe we will look back & see interstellar to be his best (ive never seen it), like how kubrick said eyes wide shut was his best.

nolan isn't significant or good enough to even make the comparison

baiting like a true rookie

Literally just don't be 14 years old.

o shit waddup

1.) Eyes Wide Shit isn't Kubrick's best
2.) Interstellar is not Nolan's best (you'd know that if you saw it.)
3.) The director doesn't decide which of his movies is his best.

1. yea it is
2. aight
3. would you say that to the director u goblin

>had his bellybutton removed for religious reasons
DROPPED

he was roman catholic?
lmao
