For LA it's the Echo / Echoplex without question. Great space and staff. Once thet got rid of stage security on the larger space it's by far the best

Saw Squarepusher there a week back and as I walk in there's Nick Reinhart and Juan Alderete just chilling and talking shop.

larger- The Fox - Oakland

In Charleston SC, the best venue for me personally is The Music Farm or The Pour House. Both have great staff and have a very comfy environment. I see a phish cover band play every weekend at the Pour House.

My local scene is basically made up entirely of pubs with a back room and an overpriced stadium that the council has control of and hardly ever puts shows on in

The Caledonia Lounge. Basically the go-to spot for all the local shows, I've seen/played some cool shows and met some of my best friends there

Hip place: small boat on a river. And few bars too.
There is a hall for rock/semi-famous bands but it's closed for 1 (2?) year so it sucks currently.

Ay, Vancouver, BC here, the Rickshaw is cool but is literally in the middle of skid row. The Commodore is my fave but not every band plays there. Rogers Arena is the place where all the huge bands like Metallica and whatever play. I would be more comfortable going down there if the homeless population wasn't so bad. Meh.

A local venue of mine has been having problems with this whole thing happening. Places have actually been shut down, but I'm not sure how many. The community has raised enough money to keep a certain house venue going

I listed my shit that I like, but if it's not safe, well that's on the venue. I'd rather be safe and have a good show than have a good show then burn alive.

No it's not. But house venues are sometimes the only places certain bands can play and getting them shut down by an internet lynch mob is fucking retarded. This is all started from one venue catching on fire. The amount of venues that may or may not be following fire safety and have had nothing happen is way more than the ones that have. It's just a product of Sup Forums having nothing better to do.
