'Squirmin' serum 'n semen 'n syrup 'n semen
'n serum
stirrupped in syrup'
What did he mean by this?

Except that all the notes sound like shit together and they purposely made it sound shitty just to be edgy.

pretending to like trash for the approval of autistic wop reviewer who doesn't even acknowledge your existence albums are the worst

fast and vulvas

Do people practice their instruments and sings 12 hours a day just to be edgy? I don't think so.
It is supposed to sound bad and they obviously didn't take themselves too seriously. Having sad that it's supposed to sound abrasive and devoid of any commercial potential doesn't take away from the fact that something like that required only extraordinary musicians.

More like "albums that plebs don't get"

>Do people practice their instruments and sings 12 hours a day just to be edgy? I don't think so.

If I practice taking a shit discreetly in public for 12 hours a day does that make me a genius?

txstate.edu/philosophy/resources/fallacy-definitions/Faulty-Analogy.html

nah but i would admire your dedication

Yeah taking a shit in public is far more impressive than whatever Captain beefhart did.

Cool story bro. Have you actually listened to any of his other albums or are you just being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian?

They're the worst albums.

True.

I haven't listened to any of his albums because I know they're shit

>albums are the best albums

What did he mean by this?

TMR is so fucking overrated it hurts

[Delet this in Turkish]
fugg, had me laffin

Agreed. I hate TMR but I agree with this sentiment. Generally the best art, throughout history, provokes a strong ambivalent reaction in its audiences, from Beethoven to Picasso. So yeah albums that people debate passionately such as this one, or Art Angels for example, must be considered very important even if you don't like it yourself.

This.

...

Oh hi Montie, is a honor to have to your majesty in one of my threads, if you say that tmr is shit, it's shit, thread closed.

Yes! This is the kind of reply i was looking for.

Here's my explanation I've posted here earlier:
>There are certainly some unpleasant and maybe out of place songs (Hair Pie: Bake 1), I agree. But there are also some memorable and enjoyable songs that represent the nature of the album perfectly - Moonlight on Vermont, Pachuco Cadaver, Ella Guru, Frownland. It's about deconstructing Delta blues and blues rock to it's roots and mixing them with avant-garde, jazz, free jazz and experimental motifs. There's polyrhytmic drumming, which is a main part of free jazz, then there are slide guitar and straight up blues licks. Captain's voice might be off putting and harsh on this album, but he's a great blues singer, which is definitely showcased on his less critically and slightly more commercial albums (Unconditionally guaranteed, Bluejeans & Moonbeams). If you're familiar with Howlin' Wolf, Captain's voice is Howlin' Wolf x10.
>Try listening to his first album - Safe as milk. It's a great blues rock album and although it's an indication of things to come, it's still accessible and one of the best in his discography. I understand that it's really hard to appreciate this album and similar albums, if you're not a musican. That's not to say that you need to be a musican in order to enjoy and appreciate music. And of course, you don't have to like every single album you've heard. Polyrhytmic drumming is really common in free jazz, but not in rock and blues, so that's why it sounds off to you. Polyrhytms are two separate rhythms played at the same time - which is impressive from a technical standpoint and impressive in the context of time in which the album was made.

There are examples of how they're used and by which musicians. It's an interesting read.

lol hair pie bake 1 is one of the best on the album

I actually enjoy Hair Pie: Bake 2. I can't say the same for Bake 1.

lmao, my favorite is hair pie bake one, to be sincere

I like free jazz too, but I didn't enjoy that song to be honest. Here's a great free jazz/Hindustani classical music album.

TVU&N was far more important than TMR

Prove me wrong

>Prove me wrong.
Who cares? What's more important is that those albums exist.

yes it was, but it isn't now
