I know this is going to sound like a red flag, but I'm curious to know how is it possible for fellow anons to find other anons ip address?
I know this is going to sound like a red flag...
BTW I'm asking with good intentions.
> send email with callback to remote server
> check server log for any GET requests to the link you provided
> IP found
you could uniquely identify a bunch of people by giving them links with tokens unique to each user.
Or is this too technical?
btw to anons reading this who are wondering, yes this happens with most of the emails you get from pretty much any company
I'm sorry. I don't quite follow the "technical steps".
>yahoo mail
Can you kindly explain to me in laymen's terms step by step how somebody does it?
Yep. I use it at work. Hubspot has a tool that tracks every email I send. Tell me who opens it, when they open it, how many times they open it, if they follow links or not, etc.
The reason why I ask is because let's say that another "Burger King" incident happens again (for reference), I wanna know how to find people like him. How were the anons in the pic able to do it?
That's just metadata.
Use Jeffry's Exif Viewer.
Generally people who do stupid shit like that don't remove exif.
Ok i just uploaded a random image off of Sup Forums and it's not giving me anything about the location of the photo. What do I look for?
bump
I've tried doing this example pic on jeffry's exif, and i cant find a location, just the file and color encoding.
bump.
idk maybe u need gps on
well you could hack Sup Forums which you can't if you have to ask
otherwise it is social engineering like posting a link you can track somehow. this is hit and miss though because not all anons will open the link
if you need my ip adress its 192.168.2.1
well most images don't have location information, especially if the've been edited. It's mostly people who post images directly from their phones without knowing better.
So basically, if something like that ever happened again, I could just go on exif, copy image location, then paste the link, and it'll show me the "coordinates" of where the pic was taken? simple as that?
Mine too what a coincidence
If you want to see it just take your phone, start the camera app, enable gps location in settings and take a pic.
btw Sup Forums now removes exif data from uploaded pics
Where is that in the FAQ?
It's easy op, use this link
blasze DOT tk/UVCQBL
It isn't, nigger. It's the same way Sup Forums doesn't let you anymore upload pics with .rar in them.
...
get them to go to a web server you own. even without js you can get ip, os, browser, language and a few other things
You blocked out the first set of digits.
You narrowed it down from over 4 billion possibilities, to only 255. Not smart.
Block based redaction is also terrible. If you wanted to you'd work out the font, work out how many pixels each number would take up at that size and work out all the possible combinations that would fit inside that box.....if you had way to much time on your hands.
Nah, a script to run through the 255 possibilities would take 5 minutes.
Not that it matters anyway because OP didnt create that image
Knowem's pretty good
Sup Forums admins have changed how the site works by removing all exif data from photos uploaded on to here. This method no longer works.
Here is my IP. DDoS me all you want!
Next time you can just Google 'what's my IP address?' or something, jsyk
Doesn't work with polish google.
Cant believe someone fell for this
Isn't that to test your internal TCP/IP ?
It's the loopback address, basically means "this computer"
153.31.113.27
H@xx0r me, bitches.
my ip is 192.168.0.1
Sup Forums now wipes all exif data when a picture is uploaded.
Me leetz haxor!!!1!!

Who clicked on it?
217.95.242.9
You have to lick a power outlet and then you get mental ip detecting powers
Without the godlike powers of the People's Champions it's not possible on Sup Forums itself. If you can get stupid anons to click external links then sure. Also keep in mind many anons use 7proxies vpn etc so that's a whole 'nother hurdle
Now I know you're trolling, there's no way that can be yours because it's mine.
