the thing that a lot of foreigners don't know about US health care is we have smaller clinics for people without insurance. you pay $25 per visit and all you need is to give them a name and phone number. the only difference between them and a "real" clinic is that you'll probably have to wait 20 minutes longer than usual because they have a smaller staff. only if you're having an expensive surgery does lack of insurance bite you in the ass.
