So Sup Forums

My last parent past away about a year ago, I was their only child. They left me quite a fortune, worth ~€2.6 million after estate tax.

Breakdown of estate:

>Big residential house, 4 bedroom,3 bathroom, sauna, boathouse, I now live there alone, sold my own 1 bedroom appartement.
>€1.2 million in stocks.
>3 rental properties, generating €2.750 in monthly rental income that get deposited in my bank account. I have a property manager on it who deals with the tenants.
>~1kg gold, worth right now about €39k
>A 7 meter boat
>About €120.000 in cash
>My dads pension, pays out €3.500 monthly til december 2033. He retired in 2013 and it would payout for 20 years and gets carried over to the heirs.
> And ofcourse all kinds of gadets, camera's, laptops, 50 inch tv, 2 cars, bike, tablets etc

I'm 26, I have a job at a small accounting firm, bookkeeper, where I earn a measly €2.100. Am I insane? Should I quit my job and just turn into a NEET.

I feel kinda silly working 40 hour a week, but on the other hand, I like the people there and it gets me out of the house. If I quit my job, wtf am I gonna do all day? Shit post on Sup Forums and watch idiots on youtube and jerk of 3 times a day.

TLDR: Inherit nice sum of money. What would Sup Forums do? Quit job or keep job.

If you enjoy you job keep it, you would get very bored just sitting about all day. Not to mention fat.

I would make porn.

Dude, Its sad that you havent your parents anymore in that age.

About thread, you should keep that job if you like it.

Invest money and keep working for a while.

If you enjoy job keep it. Personally i would travel. I make not bad money but im working 50 hours a week. I dont have alot of time to travel.

keep working... if not that job, some job.... bartender, bookstore clerk, video game clerk, whatever.... just to get you out of the house and around people.
get a job you can work part time.
get a job you can meet chicks (assming youre not a faggot. if op is a faggot, then where you can meet other fags)

meet a woman, get married, have kids, be smart with money and you'll be able to do whatever yoj want. vacation, good schools for kids, nice cars, etc.
set a goal to retire early...

if you quit, you'll become a fat sob, and you'll blow all your money on stupid shit.

a friend of mine won the lottery. he eventually got so bored he got a job just to have something to do.
granted, it took him 10 years of fuckjng around doing nothing all day to get to that point, but he eventually broke down.

OP, I'm a rich younger guy as well. Keep your job or get another that is more suiting to you. Have a money adviser handle your investments.

DO. NOT. GET. MARRIED.

Travel a lot.

Enjoy the life your parents gave you.

Have some fun dude. Travel the world and decide once you come back.

eh. get married if you want... just pre nup that shit

tbh i enjoy working if i get settled into a good project and like the guys i am working with. can be actually fun sometimes.

i'd keep working, or if you feel thats a bore or a chore, try to get into the job you've always wanted growing up but which was never practical or attainable to you. now that you have the resources to live without work why find something you genuinely enjoy doing?
of course, travel too :)

lead an enjoyable life. whatever you find the best, just avoid pitfalls like addiction. if you marry, FUKIN LAWYER UP so you don't have to split it all during a divorce. invest in your health and health checks. only pass money to charities if it really makes you feel better, and give just a tiny amount, like 1k.

also, if you want to make an impact on this world, now you can fund it, either building it yourself or having ppl build it.

make sure you always have a reserve with which you can live comfortably till 100.

also, sorry for your loss.

gl user.

I would probably work at least a lot less, work out a lot more, and be more social.

focus a lot on getting more pussy basically

well, pussy is over rated. i'd actually focus more on sustainable relationships. and I don't mean with women as partners, i mean people in general as friends. of course get laid, but i wouldnt make "getting pussy" the keystone of your lifes goal. youre not 19 any more, college was cool but theres more to life than that.

btw, the amounts you listed, are nice, and a liveable wage, but you cant do nothing else from here on out. trying to stretch that shit out for 40 to 60 years? its just not enough.

You are a fucking moron. Like, I am glad to see you wasting your life away, but you are an idiot for doing so.

This....AND this...Stay working and connected with real people...puttering around in an empty house with nobody (or servants) will make you crazy. Pretend to be poor, so as to keep the gold-diggers away and keep in contact with real humans. Going to work every day is your easiest means of making this happen.

I'd keep working but I'd take vacations every other week lmao. If you have a social life do that but my goal would be to at least try to live like a normal person, but better and not having to worry so people don't hate you. In fact if you do that people are sure to love you. They'll sense you have no worries but are still relatable to them. You have the chance to be a god amongst men.

Keep your job, trust me. No matter how much money you have, the depression that sets in after feeling you aren't doing anything productive for society is horrible. Keep on working and settle down with someone, but don't tell that person about the extra money until 3-4 years into the relationship.

>step 1: quit day job
>step 2: become rich philantropist
>step 3: ???
>step 4: become the batman

Whatever you need to feel productive. Whether that's keeping the job you have now or finding something else you want to cultivate that you could put some of that money towards; and whether that means becoming completely fucking obsessed with trying to create sentient AI or making little wooden figurines, just do something. Complete lack of productivity in every case I've personally ever witnessed leads to depression coupled with a growing leech orientation.

Im looking into getting some rentable property myself and I have a few questions you might be able to answer. How much do you pay the property manager? Are the properties near each other? How much do you make on each property?

Seconded. Be smart, keep or expand social circles through job, hobbies and travel. Enjoy life.
Envious of you, OP, but sad to hear about your parents passing.

Become a farmer.

travel the world man. See new things.

Keep your job OP. You'll go crazy with nothing to do all day, no matter how much money you have.

so i know this does not belong here, but can u sauce those tits by any chance

y

Bump

Give me some because i would love to be able to quit my job and be a neet

By all means you can keep both. I definitely would. You are one lucky mofo

buy me No Man's Sky

steamcommunity.com/id/Jaberdaberduu/

I would find a creative job thsat i liked doing but would probably not pay me anymoney for the first ten years - like furniture making, or luthery, or record production - run a studio, meet lots of local musicians, hang out and have fun.

Dude just set up a awesome crib, go to school for something you would love to do become a pro at said thing then just travel and work your passion when you feel liks you need to do something. Smash lots of poon

Keep it you won't know what will happen. Plus you will DEFINITELY get bored from being a NEET after a while.

Not that i have any experience but i would think keeping yourself occupied would keep you mentally healthy and hold some sort of self esteem, as i understand people that just drop everything when they get into these kind of lottery win scenarios they end up broke and depressed, if you have the motivation i would maybe start going to school for something that your newfound wealth can come in handy, maybe learn investing, some sort of marketing etc.?

What are you passionate about, what are you really interested in? invest the money wisely and live on the profits and your dads pension while working at your passion.

If your passion is book keeping, then keep your job.

if you like your job, see if you can step down to part time

Fuck that shit, don't just wither away when you have the means to do otherwise. Go to school or go pick up a career you really want. You are set more or less for life so there is no real risk, just go for it. If you don't want to do that, you should at least do something thhat will be harder to do once you get older and have kids or whatever like travel or do something crazy like building something you've always wanted.

Fuck, If I had that opportunity, I would definitely quit working there and just live it up. I would study music and find a worthwhile profession. I would definitely try to do something for the community I grew up in, too. I don't know, maybe just donate to make the local parks nice, but ideally something self-sustaining and more directly helpful. I would just be a renaissance man if I had that kind of setup going on.

Both of them got cancer unfortunatly. My mom breast cancer, it spreaded to bones, liver, skull. She was gone within a year after we found out.

My dad got colon cancer, during his treatment he got a cardiac arrest, the cleaning lady found him in his bed.

I make sure I always have a nice sum of money laying around, say 100k-125k, all the excess cash goes into low cost index funds.

Travel.. Yeah, I could do that. I'm from the Netherlands, only countries I visited are neighbouring countries, Germany, belgium spain italy. How would you advice to do that though, try to find a travel group, go alone. Long travel, or in short burst like 1 week every now and then.

I'm in the Netherlands so I'm not sure if any of this info is off any help to you but here I go. I pay the property manager 7% of the gross rent. 1 property is a tiny appartement, 1 property belongs to a dentist. 1 property is a small business that sells sun roofs you put in from of your windows to keep the sun out. After cost and taxes (we pay here 1.2% wealth tax to the government on the value of the proerty and we pay taxes to the city) the return on my three houses is about 6%.

All the properties are debt free btw, so no mortgages costs.

I'm strongly considering going part time, say 16-24 hours a week. 20% of the time I'm thinking "why the fuck am I in this office right now".

>Both of them got cancer unfortunatly
then i think the most important thing you can do is regular screenings for any cancer

Sorry no sauce, I just found it in my awesome tits folder.

its a Chav of some breed

blow the money on drugs and ruin your life

quit job... take up on learning a new skill like programming.. spend couple of years become good get a better job

You can quit your job, you won't go insane if you can keep yourself occupied.

I mean.. now you can have time for hobbies, working out, meet with friends whenever you can or travel around the world with gf. You can even start your own business.. a restaurant for example or whatever you like. Being the boss would get you many pussy.

You can do more in the rest of your life if you don't spend weekdays with booking invoices.

a shame, but thanks anyways bro

If you feel like quitting your job, go for it. I suggest buying a shit ton of canaries to fill the void, like an entire fleet of them.

I like music. I'd love to learn to play piano and guitar. I like anything that has to do with finance and economy. I like working out. I like swimming.

Definitely, when I'm turning 30 I'm gonna do bi-annual full body check ups.

OP life is about doing what you enjoy. if you enjoy that job and the people, work it until you feel it in yourself that it isn't right to do anymore, or until a greater ambition strikes you. im very sorry to hear about your parents...i do hope youre doing alright. hang in there.

also, just not working towards anything kills the spirit. do something at least. travel and learn and experience. share the wealth with charities if you want. take on new projects. do whatever man.

This. Keep working a job that doesnt kill you, your job will keep you busy NOT blowing most of your money

go part time, take piano / guitar lessons, get subscription on swimming pool, invite friends for drinks often.

personally, i'd travel though.

>last parent
How many parents did you start with?!

keep your job man
and who is that whore in your picture?

Chavs don't come into that much money.

I think ur full of shit 1- u keep mentioning how all ur money's in euros but talk like a dumb fuck yank 2- 1kg of gold is not worth 39k ?

Gold is around $40/gram
So thatd be 40K/kg
So yes you faggot

keep working. it's important for your brain to keep working. Keeps you close to earth as well.
But you get the luxury to have an easy going job, that you like.

English is my 2nd language, so it's not perfect.

2) See picture.

www.amsterdamgold.com

38.8k in euro so whatever man.

Start a record label. Sign artists you like that don't have deals. Push their music. Profit more off their sales.

travel my friend, travel as much as you can....

If you like your work, stick with it. Studies have proven that people who aren't challenged and have to work regularly don't develop well and often are depressed.

People are miserable working dead-end jobs because they don't have to use their brain, not because "lul wouldn't it be great not to have to work ever?"

Humans enjoy challenges, so be sure to challenge yourself.

Just a tip, if it floats, flies or fucks, rent it.

>what would Sup Forums do?
Buy large amounts of marijuana

go for a parttime job like 20 hours a week.

OP, definitely travel. Get a friend and just go on a globe trotting trip.

Hit up netflix and watch departures, it really is an epic show.

You should be investing in the Vietnamese real estate market right after the bubble pops around Q2 of 2017.

Key areas of focus should be Saigon and Da Nang.

What did your parents do ?
Did they also inherit it ?

Also, 3,5k is a very nice pension. Just give your best not to become lazy now, it won't be easy

They owned a manufacturing business that made breadcutting machines and breadslicers. They sold those things to bakeries and restaurants and stores that specilized in cookingand baking. They sold the business in 2011 for a nice sum.

They didn't inherit anything, not that I know of atleast.

Go on a quest to find the perfect girl who will love you without knowing you are rich beforehand..then have kids..make sure they will get about same as you did once you are gone, profit?

as a jobless faggot let me tell you its not all its cracked up to be
