Hey, newgen. Still accepting applications for year end lists.
Thanks to the guys that already posted, this is going pretty good so far.
been listening to this album lately
any recommendations?
Yeah, listen to better metal.
...
stuff similar to this?
also this
Name my band
are there actually still people that look like this in the current year? that pic has to be like from 2009 or something
>TBDM
>Skullcandy earbuds
Probably 2009-2010
Phrases For A Bandname
whoa now, black dahlia murder is actually good
I just mean every scene kid from those days owned a Black Dahlia Murder shirt
>tfw even fucking Bunalti doesn't have the album you're looking for
Feel bad man
Since no OP is a Clinton supporter, I'll name the thread.
Red and black album edition
>being this insecure
kek
>tfw only listening to King Diamond until Christmas
>tfw no scandinavian qts who crave american cock to snapchat with
life is pain
Are you black
I get the impression tbdm weren't gay enough for scene kids. Their fanbase had a lot of overlap with scenesters but 9/10 scene kids were repulsed by tbdm
also a friendly reminder that Mors Principium Est are like TBDM but better in every way
not like they'd be able to make out your micro ant eater dick hidden under all that belly fat anyway, chum
No, thankfully
that was entirely uncalled for
I'm legit confused as to why The Black Dahlia Murder got a free pass from scenecore kids while other generic melodeath from that era usually repulsed scene kids (Children Of Bodom, In Flames, Amon Amarth etc.) I guess it goes both ways too.

>The same people who get very, very angry about the popularity of bands like Suiside Silence or Miss May I love The Black Dahlia Murder, All Shall Perish, and The Red Chord, which is weird to me because they do not really sound any different.
is suicidal tendencies thrash metal?
>writes 4 star slipknot review
fuck metalsucks
crossover
>No, thankfully
No Scandipuss for you then
fug :DDD
I think it might have been an America vs. European divide among the fanbases. In 2009 the average American scene kid had very little exposure to any European music period. The Euros generally played different festivals and tours than TBDM, who were often billed with bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Emmure etc.
>showing a scene kid Follow the Reaper would've been like showing him Madonna, and he probably would've preferred Madonna
Metalsucks used to be good when they had guys like Sergeant D and Emperor Rhombus writing for them. Nowadays they're basically just a metal version of Cracked.
I was a scene kid who liked DWP
"good writing" is so last decade gramps
I need blackened mathrock

FOX ONLY
behemoth did it better
Yes, yes they are.
I found some symphonic blackened deathcore yesterday if that's what you want
That sounds like the worst goddamn shit I'll probably ever hear.
Post it.
too bad it's a meh album with a few good songs
Yes I do. They live in my city, I've spoken with them and I've seen them open for several touring bands.
There's like a 99% chance that you are right.
And like a 1% chance that it will be my new favorite genre. I'm really hoping for that 1%.
I want a band that sounds like Attila crossed with black metal.
youtube.com
a few songs in it isn't half bad
and Cult of Fire did it even better
Well, fuck.
From a songwriting perspective it's not bad. The incredibly flat production holds it back immensely though.
All you guys do is listen to cringe-level metal
>band has two bassists
Oh yeah, forgot that I hate deathcore. Well, at least the symphonic part of it isn't bad.
>band has a bassist
>band has a bassist
>gets buried in the mix
youtube.com
as fruity as possible
>band has bassist
>kill bassist because you can't hear him anyway so it would be like he never existed
What other levels are there?
we /avatar/ now
It wouldn't be like he never existed, though, because killing a band member gives you massive kvlt points.
euphoric
so what are you looking forward to next year /metal/?
Why is this album so quiet compared to literally every other album in my library?
NeO. No idea really what's even coming out next year other than that. Maybe new Primordial or Mgla? Might be too early for that.

The absolute madmen.

You, my son, need to get yourself a media player with volume leveling. Until I started using MediaMonkey, I had no idea this was something I even needed, but I now I would argue that it is THE most important function of media player. Organizing and tagging and shit is great, but you can still do a lot of that at OS level. But hardly ever having to touch your volume slider? Bliss. I look back on those dark days and baka desu. I used to live in fear of temporarily deafening myself when my playlist moved to a new album, or of missing out on a great riff because it was too quiet, so I had to stop whatever I was doing, tab to my media player, bring the volume up... maybe even restart the track! *shudder*
But yeah
>mfw the volume is just right
That is complete shit ass disgusting
Rec me satanic metal to listen to during christmas
...
Is there such thing as a good metal christmas album?
>metalsucks
No.
anyone jamming this gem that came out a month ago? It's sorta nuts. Also listen to their earlier material, these guys put out straight quality

yussssss, have you heard 'pyrrhic' by voidspawn?
how so?
What is this utter garbage?
Speaking about melodeath, I wish there were more bands like Amon Amarth, Belakor and Insomnium which use growling instead of wimpy screaming, it gets lame after a while
Ulcerate are the deafheaven of death metal
>Amon Amarth, Belakor and Insomnium
no one mentioned the new DSO record in here as well
do yourself something good and listen
it was meh
