Was having "Sister Ray" being 18 minutes long, and "The Gift" as a whole really necessary?

Was having "Sister Ray" being 18 minutes long, and "The Gift" as a whole really necessary?

was your life really necessary?

Yes
If you dislike either of those tracks you're a pleb

Was being a huge fucking pleb and telling Sup Forums really necessary?

the gift gets objectively boring after a handful of listens

wow, great responses guys!
you really won me over huh

The Gift is the best track
fight me

those are great tracks although

I prefer in da gadda da vida as far as pointlessly long 60s jam songs go

who were you trying to win over with the op
stupid little bitch

>Sweet Jane is my favourite TVU song

faggot end yourself and any plebeian offspring you spawned

No

sister ray > murder mystery >>>>> the gift

not joking that's actually my favourite vu song

ya

you are right

Of course it's necessary! it's what makes the album stand out as unique within their Discog

Of course. Sister Ray is a masterpiece and is the best rock song ever created.

Scaruffi is a moron fyi

fuck the gift, sister ray is perfect

Everything about it is exceptionally better than average

>DUDE 3 CHORDS AND ALL RECORDED IN ONE TAKE LMAO
>DUDE DRUGS, VIOLENCE, AND TRANSVESTITE HOOKERS LMAO

wow you sure showed them

Its simplicity doesn't stop it from being an intense pleasure to listen to. You must not like TVU as a whole if technically simple music isn't your thing.

he's right; couldn't be more textbook edgy if it tried

LOL! I'm too pleb for your tastes.

:^)

even edgier

Kill yourself

The gift is ok, mostly because there's still a lot of cool stuff ahead on the album.

However, I do have a problem with Sister Ray, it the first half is absolutely brilliant, but some time after the mid section it loses its focus and never recuperates desu. It slightly reminds me of Can's Bel-Air, except that the latter half of Bel-Air is still good (even if nowhere near as good as the first one), whereas Sister Ray's ending is just mediocrity.

isn't that sort of the point? the same riff stays throughout most of the song while the rest of it falls apart

They do try to come back to the main theme at the end, but it's not done very well. I wouldn't mind the weak ending, if it wasn't the last song on album and if it didn't take up so much time.
