it is the gift that keeps on giving

It's so good

does anyone have the definitives links yet?

Reznor is back

What is this? Just a reissue? What's so special about it/

what's this? I heard they released a new ep, is this something else? Is it a fragile b-sides or somethign?

Instrumental version of the new remaster with 10 or so new tracks.

"LIMITED EDITION 4 LP DECONSTRUCTION OF THE FRAGILE BY TRENT REZNOR AND ATTICUS ROSS CLOCKING IN AT 150 MINUTES! CONTAINS INSTRUMENTALS, ALTERNATE VERSIONS AND OVER AN HOUR OF NEVER BEFORE HEARD MATERIAL FROM THE ORIGINAL FRAGILE RECORDING SESSIONS. >tfw the deviations actually have differences in the tracks from the base version and they're fucking great
beats fuckers BTFO

what is
what is
what is

>900MB
>for the flac version
funny, my paid flac files were 3.5 GB

>flac
well meme'd

I wonder what NIN - TFD1 could stand for, in this thread about Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile Deviations 1.

the fragile deviations 1. still looking for broken, TDS and fragile definitives though.

>That feel when I still haven't received my download codes for Broken or The Fragile.

Pls do

email their support - the company NIN used is complete shit but they're at least responding to requests

So can anyone confirm that they actually did anything in terms of the definitive editions?

>tfw downloading The Fragile DE in several parts from shitty speed limiting file hosts

contact them on twatter, pleb

The new EP is Broken 2.0!

stop this meme at once

I love the first track but it's way too short
No love for the second track, it sounds like a song I've heard before
Third track is ok
Fourth track is orgasmic
Fifth track I started off hating but by the end really liked

All in all, I do wish Trent avoided the speaking instead of singing meme more

HOLY SHIT MISSING PLACES FILLS IN WHERE THE FUCK THE INTRO TO WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER COMES FROM

what a funny gif. mind if i save it, friend?

...

It's all yours :)

The original FLACs were 24-96. I re-encoded them to fit the RedBook CD standards.

damn, is that the real waterfall? it's so nine inch nailsy, what the fuck trent?

>tfw I know my parents got me one of the definitive editions for chistmas but I don't know which one
god I hope they picked the fragile

So Deviations 1 implies a 2 does it not?

>tfw you think there could be a wrong answer
pro tip the red bit is a close up of a shell

Trent said he has plans for 2 more nin records in 2017, so maybe that's one of them. Or maybe there will be Ghosts V-VIII - 40 new instrumentals in the vein of The Fragile's.
A man can dream.

Honestly pretty hate machine would be the worst out of the options

it's possible, seeing as there are 2 new NIN projects set to be released in 2017

Not What It Seems Like and Was It Worth It are dank.

it sure would be, if pretty hate machine was part of the definitive collection, you dingus.

ah, never mind, misread their store

in terms of definitive collection though

The Fragile >> The Downward Spiral > Broken

deviations is fucking fantastic

so glad i ordered the vinyl

you're dead wrong my friend. the rating you'd give those albums has no baring on their worth being remastered (which is the only difference here)
Broken > TDS >Fragile
you go how they were originally mixed and which ones need remastering the most.

>reach The March
>wait a second, I've heard this before
youtube.com/watch?v=LAQZOvuAmz8

yeah, trent worked with saul on that album.

I'm aware, considering I'm 99% sure some of the backing tracks are Trent singing
That said, interesting to see how some of the unreleased tracks have bubbled up over the years

damn, new version of pilgrimage hits you way harder

You think so? I thought it's the only version that sounds significantly worse than the original.

yeah, especially this track (my fav)

youtube.com/watch?v=e03EXDtt2R4

I like it a lot more - it brings out the industrial undertones and throws them front and center. I also liked the outro which was completely new

Was it Worth it was worth listening to. Holy shit, I'm floored that he's revisiting The Fragile, and thank God. We needed more.

youtube.com/watch?v=okPJ7YgECWk

God dammit I wish I didn't live in an apartment - I'm already pushing the limit on how loud I have this and I would blast the fuck out of it if I wasn't considered that someone would be knocking on my door

>Yes
>Everyone seems to be asleep

or some of us are still listening to it because the company Trent picked was shit and I didn't even get my download link until tonight

it's a lyric from the new EP, lol

>Track 2, Dear World,

it's fairly known that a lot of the music from niggy are the fragile / with teeth unused bits and trent on backup vox.

What kind of synth he used for that track? Sounds like a roland.

Instrumentals of all of The Fragile's tracks, but some with alternative mixes and arrangements and a number of added tracks both from the various vinyl and cassette releases as well as some never before released tracks.

Yeah, a lot of this is really, really fucking good. I wish all this material was included on the original release of The Fragile, "Missing Places" for example is a perfect companion to "We're in This Together"

So far my least favorite track is Not What It Seems Like - it's really one dimensional and I see why it ended up on the cutting room floor

I love how "Feeders" is the full length version of that sucking bit that opens the album version of "No, You Don't".

Fragile definitive edition when?

He's really peeling apart the skeleton of The Fragile in a way I didn't expect. It's fucking awesome how he's bringing stuff out like Feeders.

I'm really glad about this release. I feel like a lot of people listen to The Fragile and can't get past its edgelord lyrics, but by removing the vocals you really get to appreciate the pristine production values for what they are.

At the same time, though, this compilation doesn't step on The Fragile's toes. Fantastic move on Trent's part.

I've been on Sup Forums for seven fucking years, since i was 17 years old. It was considered very gauche to talk about Nine Inch Nails on Sup Forums back then. It fills me with a lot of joy to see NIN getting so much love on Sup Forums these past few days.

actually, year zero was what saul had more influence on desu

almost ruined the track for me because they used captain dickhead for that vocal. kms.

>actually, year zero was what saul had more influence on desu

i don't understand how that goes against / disproves anything i've said when it's been stated in plenty of interviews and is widely accepted.

Saul may have had more influence on Year Zero—I'm willing to grant you that point, although I don't know that there's any real proof—but it's just straight-up fact that instrumentals from The Fragile were used as the beats for a number of songs on Niggy Tardust.

its a bomb shelter lmao

pretty sure its a nord modular,
he used that thing a shit ton during the fragile.
Someone recently released the patches for it online!

a sold 2.5/5

Does this mean I finally get to be Trent Reznor when I grow up?

only if you have the patience to program a Yamaha DX7 the way he did.

What the fuck are you talking about?

>implying he would ever put that kind of filth on his albums

quick, get in the bomb shelter!!

trent used the DX7 on everything in the early 90's. I owned a DX7 and a DX7II and honestly, when they feel like it, they can make amazing tones.

I want to into making NIN tracks.
Time to learn coding.

Has Sup Forums ever crowdsourced an album online together? Like, recorded stuff on their own and made shit together on Sup Forums Reznor style?

I could see that going very, very wrong

anyone got the any of the mp3s for the new definitive versions of Broken or Downward Spiral?

Oh my god Was It Worth It is so fucking good

i'm almost certain he rarely (if ever) used it, he absolutely despised it and the only reason they used it live (purely as a midi trigger) was because it was easy to waterproof, easy to replace and you didn't feel bad when you completely destroyed the cunt.

this please.

Is there a definitive NIN discography torrent/encoder that knows what he is doing to get NIN stuff?
I have the CDs but they are back home far away.
Would like to get good sources of them.

>re-encoded them to fit the RedBook CD standards
What does it mean?

it means he downcoded them to fit onto a CD
