Yo Sup Forums I'm going through the essentials.
Gonna do it in one year and write about every album.
Anything I should add / keep in mind?

We have a vastly better chart for this sort of thing which will not only give you more interesting material but will also allow you to explore a much wider range of musical styles in a comparable amount of time. It even includes download links.
Don't make a superiority complex
This is a more current version of what you're trying to go through. I'm currently marathoning and writing about a series of albums myself. The list of albums I have to go through aren't nearly as friendly and nice as most of these, though!
Non sequitur. The chart I posted is superior. It doesn't take a genius to see that.
Kind of digging: more. It follows the same format as the orig chart which I enjoy.
Plus there's a Ryo Fukui's Scenery is in there, which is a good sign.
Probably gonna combine the lists (I've listened to a third of these so it's not adding too much)
youre wasting your time
Fuck off "Friendo." The chart you posted is basic as fuck in regards. Half the shit is on the RYM top 50. There's nothing special about it, it doesn't compel the listener to discover anything new on their own. It pisses me off that the Psychedelic Rock section doesn't have Love - Forever Changes, one of the most important albums of all time, and much better than Odessey and Oracle, The Doors (especially the Doors, which, by the way, are the most overrated band of all time), and any of that other gay shit.
I checked and Odessey and Oracle isn't on there but you can still suck my dick
Nah
Gotta agree slightly, Love - Forever Changes is dope! Was pivotal for me. But I'm not gonna deny the merit of Friendos chart. Sampling that wide a range of genres would be pretty neat, just not what I'm trying to do right off that bat.
We'll get there.
>Fuck off "Friendo."
That's unnecessary.
>The chart you posted is basic as fuck
Good. It's an essentials chart. That's the point.
>Half the shit is on the RYM top 50.
This is not relevant.
>There's nothing special about it
Prove it. Show me a comparable chart.
>it doesn't compel the listener to discover anything new on their own
You are going to have to expand on this assertion.
>Love - Forever Changes
It's not that good.
>one of the most important albums of all time
Again, you need to explain statements like this.
>the Doors, which, by the way, are the most overrated band of all time
The Doors is a good band.
I find it odd that someone who affects an interest in psychedelic rock isn't questioning why Surrealistic Pillow is on the chart instead of After Bathing at Baxter's.
I would prefer not to.
It's not my chart. Ame (at the time known as Fuhrer) made it.
