You'll find a good number of Indians feeling proud of pretty much anything to do with India, right from the invention of 0 ages ago, to an Indian origin America citizen getting into the senate. There are a good number of valid factual things to be proud of though.

The most shameful bits would be the gender violence, caste system, apathy towards the farmers, Kashmiris, the North-East, the godmen, corruption, etc.
