Brendan fit the niche of nice looking dopey guy who is also kind of every day average. He fit the role very well for certain kind of films.
Hollywood or audiences don't actually like Brendan. They just like the role he plays.
He had some bombs, and he's older, so he's nto needed anymore. They've got a whole new group of sorta handsome guys to fill the role. Chris Pratt makes his career on former Brendan Fraser roles.
And he's not good enough as an actor to transition out of his one niche.
