This is actually fairly accurate. Mirren, McDowell and other "stars" were not aware of the level of hardcore sex that would be in the movie...nor were Guccione's co-producers. It was not in the original script. After everything else had been shot, Guccione and the Penthouse crew got his collection of "pets" and b-list actors together to shoot the hardcore scenes which were then edited in.
