A unanimous hearty meh
Unremarkable.
"Meh" is right
The definition of meh.
TAKE ME OUT
I really like the album you posted OP. Pretty indifferent about their other stuff
Modest Mouse 2.0 tbqh
The poor man's Interpol
I like that they kinda sound like Led Zeppelin meets Talking Heads or Wire (depending on the track). I enjoy listening to them but I can't shake the feeling that they're not really that good.Competent band of course, but their songwriting peaks with Take Me Out and never reaches that height again throughout their catalog.
top tier normie band, right next to radiohead and tame impala
Nigga got what was coming to him. Serbian independence cannot be stopped.
>radiohead
>normie besides creep
check out how many views radiohead and ff have on youtube
First album is their only good album
IMO their peak is with The Fallen (I still haven't heard such a catchy and blasting track about Jesus), but yeah they fail to do something truly remarkable (came very close with Tonight). They haven't really done something really bad tho'.
Underrated post
"Tonight..." went way too weird for Normies since they were trying to bring in some Electroclash into their sound and they lost a lot of normalfags. (5 minute electronic synth solo during the lead single Lucid Dreams. Wat. Also the radio mix in a more traditional style for them was underwhelming)
Underrated album, though. Uylsses is a good track. Right thoughts, Right Words, Right Action is decent as well (Though again, more electroclash elements).
Their debut album is a curse, though since it was the perfect debut.
Some really catchy singles. I only listened to their first album only a few times but all the other tracks were intensely boring.
trash
They're the mainstream "obscure, critical darling" band. Everyone knows Creep, and they were name dropped in a couple of top 40 hits a few years ago (Katy Perry and Avril Lavigne), that's it.
First album is pretty great.
And yeah The Fallen is a fucking great song, props to whoever mentioned that.
But they diminished into irrelevance with every release like all other NMEcore mid-00s indeh bands (think Interpol, Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party etc. it's all about that debut)
I love a lot of their stuff but there's loads of fluff to get through, songs like Ulysses are quite popular and rightly so but there's a lot of like Fresh Strawberries, Evil Eye, Michael and Love Illumination that are overlooked. Right Thoughts Right Words Right Action is pretty underrated besides the title track which is guff
Very fun to listen to. Amazing live shows.
garbo
good bar music tho better butt rock revival than Jet
Essential rock
Let's just say that The Strokes are better than them, and even that's not saying much.
everything after their 2nd album is garbage. first 2 are really good.
>I still haven't heard such a catchy and blasting track about Jesus
IIIII LOOOOOVE YOOOOUUU JESUUUUUS CHRIIIIIIIIIST
In all fairness, Julian Casablancas wrote Daft Punk's best song.
What did he mean by this?
tbf, Phrazes for the Young and Tyranny are underrated albums, and at least the members of the Strokes despite being trust-fund kids, had some smidgen of talent and taste.
When I listen to Franz Ferdinand, I don't feel anything that really pulls me in.
I SAY I DON'T KNOW

TAKE ME OUT
take me out is literally the greatest song ever to drop at 1am in one of those fake indeh clubs
always disappointing when it's some shite like mr. brightside instead
They're both the same kind of thing
wtf is an indie club
A club people who look like this go
>666x666
truly
lots of stuff is the same kind of thing, i just think mr. brightside is a shit song in comparison
i mean 'stacy's mom' and 'buddy holly' are both the same kind of thing but i'm sure you prefer one to the other
One of the all time GOAT festival bands.
Underappreciated imo, they have a great pop sensibility.
their work with sparks is patrician tier
Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am! Am!
I really like this album. It's definitely easier listening but I don't think they're "meh"... I'd recommend them to people that like easy -going mid-2000s alt rock.
