Basically because French is bullshit for faggots and Greek sounds pretty cool and mysterious as shit (like how you basically have no verb tenses, or the να. Plus I speak Spanish and Greek sort of sounds like Spanish with a Russian accent, so I'm probably going to learn to pronounce shit well in it very quickly (in fact I might have done it already).

as for learning Greek, it'll be easier for you since Greek and Slavic languages have common roots and share a lot of similarities (we don't use your fancy variations of ч and ц though)
