Why is rap so one dimensional and lacking in variety
99.9% of rap songs ever >either stolen soul/jazz sample with drum loops copied & pasted over them or synths with the same instruments, effects & loud production
>subject matter is usually "YO I'M DA BEST YO CHECK MAH SWAG I'M WEARIN CLOTHES AND DRIVIN CARZ U CAN'T AFFORD, I'M BETTER DEN OTHA RAPPERS YO, I FUCKED YOUR BITCH SHE SUCKED MY DICK YO, GOT MO GUNZ DEN DA MUHFUCKIN MILITARY, I SOLD 500000000 KILOS OF CRACK YO, MY HOOD IZ BADDER DEN YO HOOD, I ONLY FUCK FOREIGN BITCHEZ, SMOKE WEED, POP PILLZ AND SIP COUGH SYRUP EVERYDAY YO "
The average IQ of African Americans is a full standard deviation below that of white people

Listen to memphis rap and southern rap
Nathaniel Campbell
it's ALWAYS the same shit
sure you might have slightly different sounding beats but really it's not that different
>drum beat >black guy(s) rapping >optional synth line and/or sample(s)
rap is by far the least diverse genre
Isaac Wood
Why is rock so one dimensional and lacking in variety
99.9% of rock songs >chord progression and drum beat copied and pasted from original rock songs with the same instruments, effects & loud production
>subject matter is usually "MUH I MISS MY GIRLFRIEND SO IM GONNA DO A BUNCH OF HEROIN TO NUMB MY EXISTENTIAL PAIN I JUST WANT HER BACK"
Jeremiah Cox
You don't listen to much rap music if you think it's the least diverse genre
Jackson Torres
how isn't it the least diverse genre?
the whole genre is guy rapping over a beat. you can only do so much with that
Ryder Phillips
>applying user's simplistic approach
how is music diverse?
the whole concept is creating rythms and melodies over certain rules
Jaxson Hall
And the whole genre of folk is a guy singing over an acoustic guitar
The whole genre of rock is a guy singing over a guitar bass and drums
The whole genre of post-rock is the same thing as rock just slower
The whole genre of dance music is just 4 to the floor kicks with hi hats on the half beats and a snare on 2 and 4.
Do you realize how stupid you sound? You straight up don't know what you're talking about. All music genres' descriptions can be boiled down to a very simple concept.
Julian Morgan
You are obviously an insipid individual incapable of really thinking and formulating an argument. the worst part about this is you probably consider yourself an intelligent and knowledgable person with critical thinking skills.
Carter Ross
>all these anons clutching at straws >can't bring up even 1 (one) example of diverse rap
but it all has rap inn it so its p much the same no?
Gabriel Sanchez
Reminder to hide and ignore all b8 threads, it only improves board quality
Eli Moore
did you even listen to the music you fucking shitposter one doesn't have rap, one has spoken word/rap hybrid and 2 has uncommon rap styles fuck you fucking shitposter
Austin Green
it's really not all that different. it's basically the diversity you'd get in a subgenre of another genre.
OP has probably only heard three rap songs in his entire life.
Liam Wright

Ayden Young
>I'm BTFO and I can't argue my point so I'll use strawman argument
how are they similar in anyway besides both sharing similar instruments? the king crimson one doesn't even have vocals.
>2 minute shimmery pop song with very unique vocals >11 minute instrumental with multiple changes and progressive instrumentation
compared to the rap songs >all 3-4 minute songs with fairly similar rapping and different backing sounds
Jaxon Mitchell
I like struggle rap. When they rap about the ghetto and their homies getting shot. It's sad and real.
But I fucking HATE these rap songs that get so popular and all they are about is 3 things. Money, bitches and drugs. Nothing else.
John Long

William Smith
>people will reply to this
Jace Evans
idk does it matter just listen to what ya like man I generally listen to the stuff that ain't all rap and drugs but I can understand their appeal at a party
I have two friends that study and go to uni for music and its like
One plays a bunch of instruments and just likes rap not all of it but he doesn't give a fuck he can get down to a song, like its just music, aint it? I don't listen to just rap infact barely at all but it doesn't mean I can't listen to it because it's too beneath me
other one plays bass at an average level but constantly up talks himself and hows his bands performing at this music festival (which doesn't even exist anymore pemberton bros ww@) and how now that he "understands" music he can't even listen to rap anymore he just cant feel anything from them and I don't get it
I had a good time listening to this album, what's wrong with listening to something you enjoy even if it isn't the most technically skilled music? If you feel hype or happy, sad if you can feel that way listening to rap or just the sound of a violin then Im sure the artists are happy and so are you
