Why was this goat so fucking smug all the time?

Why was this goat so fucking smug all the time?

the goat was literally satan

He knew he'd be fucking Thomasin in due time.

He had fun corrupting Protestan puritans. It's not like he can go around corrupting Catholics, bit redundant ain't it?

It's Trump. Winners aren't losers, why wouldn't he be smug?

he couldn't believe it wasn't butter

>fucks up countless takes because he knows he's the star so fuck you
>gets into trouble with one of the co-stars because fuck you
>just chilling in the sun and having a good time after fucking shit up
>not wanting to work because he's all comfy right now and fuck you
>still getting fed whenever he wants

He's the modern Marlon Brando and he fucking knows it.

is that some goat lamb brah?

I met the goat at the grocery store but he was kind of a jerk when I asked for his autograph

I saw Black Phillip at a general store in Jamestown yesterday. I told him how delicious it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a cur and bother him and ask him for recitations or anything.
He said, “Like as of now, doth thou persist?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Eh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “Baa! Baa! Baaaaa!” and mudging his horns in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen blocks of butter without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Mercy sir, have yee coin fer' it?” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the blocks and started tallying it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to tally them each individually “to ensure thy felt each a intefference,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she tallied each block and put them in a burlap sack and started to say the price, his girls kept interrupting by shrieking really loudly.

Goat!

fucking black Phillip

I knew this was coming eventually

Because he was the fucking devil, the guy has it all figured out, wouldn't you be a smug motherfucker if you had everything figured out?

He was GOAT

Did anyone save the "Cut!" one from Suicide Squad?

Why wouldn't a goat be smug?

what's the age of consent in witch forest?

I can't help but think themovie would have been better if they kept the supernatural element ambiguous.

The rest of the movie seems to play off suspicion, paranoia, and lies inside a family on the frontier. Should have been more mysterious and ended with "we were the only devils."

He lived deliciously.

Honestly they tried to marry off the women as soon as they became sexually mature. So like what 12-15.

Now that the dust has finally settled I think we can all agree that Black Phillip *was* speaking to the twins, right? Maybe not bewitching them, but fucking with them just enough to sew the seeds of chaos in the family.

Just because you see it, doesn't mean it's actually happening. It could all still be the entire family hallucinating as a result of starvation or bad food.

The entire movie was backwards paranoid people leaping at their own shadows, ending with the only survivor going insane.

>>>/reddit/

Is this movie actually good? I got tricked into watching It Follows and absolutely hated it.

Honestly I sympathize more with black phillip than the christians at the end even if he got a baby killed.

The movie is literally about a witch and satan fucking with people.

>hurrr my psychological horror with NO supernatural elements

No. I bet you think The Shining is all in Jack's head too.

Yeah but the apple in the son's mouth was seen by everyone.

I liked it well enough, just think that playing up the psychological aspect of it would have made a stronger movie.

It is good
If you want a slasher flick or a gore-porn then this is not for your
This a metered considered psychological horror of creeping dread

>backwards paranoid people leaping at their own shadows
Yeah people did that in the 1600s
Did you not notice the lack of cars, computers, smartphones?

fedora.jpg

are you 15yo?

12, that's how old the girl was in the wife Martin Guerrero and that was considered standard

Nah, psychological horror is my favorite. I just was annoyed by It Follows trying to be deep, so I'm a bit sceptical when the next hyped horror movie comes around.

>trying to be deep

The Witch is not for you

Could be mass hallucination. But I agree with you - the movie would have been stronger if it had been more ambiguous about the supernatural elements, and if it had delved deeper into the family members' psychology. I still really liked it though.

Because it's pretentious? Good to know, I'll skip it then.

It's not. You should check it out.

>trying to be deep

Living deliciously will do that to ya'.

>Yeah but the apple in the son's mouth was seen by everyone.
yet no one acknowledged it at all after it was vomited

>Why was this goat so fucking smug all the time?

Because he's the fucking Devil m8

>you will never have a qt goat worshipping corrupt waifu
why even live

as soon as he spit it out the mother, twins and thomasin fucking stared at it you moron

get your fucking facts straight

I think Stanley enjoyed the surprise of making you think it wasn't ghosts, and The Witch worked this same strategy.

Same here. Great performances from everyone. Even those creepy twins. The setting felt really authentic, and had some great shots. Plus it was all done on a pretty small budget.

I don't want to nitpick too hard, but those were minor points

His nose looks like an Alien face.

kekkers

He's smiling because he made a fucking mint from merchandising rights alone

16th century bantz you can't fool me Luther

Isn't that obvious? He bewitched them, he spoke to them and told them songs.

Looks more stoned than smug.

...

I liked that the movie had authentic period dialect, adds to the movie unlike other movies set in that time period.

The director went out of his way to try and make it authentic to the period. They spent most of the budget building the house.

>yet no one acknowledged it at all after it was vomited

Literally right after that happened, the mom and family stare at the apple in horror, and the mom says "William... he is witched!"

...

In the commentary the director talks about how they used quite a bit of budget on things that didn't end up being seen. Apparently Black Philip's human form had a completely custom made outfit with hand dyed fabrics, expensive feathers and jewels, etc, and then in the final film they kept him in the shadows. Welp.

>all of this was done with $1 million
Really puts the vast bullshit that is big studio accounting into perspective

Less is more. I really like never seeing him at all.
Beyond the black rainbow had a million dollar budget and also looks great. I think it helps that all the actors are pretty unknown and almost the entire movie happens in 2 locations.

holy shit impressive

costume design

Not really. If you've got a million you can't take risks and fuck up. it has to be perfect or you're pissing away all the money you've got.

If you've got more money than you could spend in a life-time, you'll splurge out like the big studios do. It doesn't matter to them.

>I think it helps that all the actors are pretty unknown and almost the entire movie happens in 2 locations.
I wouldn't call Kate Dickie and Ralph Ineson unknowns, but they seem like the kind of actors who do it for the craft rather than a paycheck.
Also the movie had a fairly strong marketing campaign (which explains all the stories about normieplebs expecting jump scares to walk out) which probably isn't included in the budget, but the $1 million budget is still impressive given all the production details and research that went into it.

It's his first movie user, give him time to fuck it all up like the majority of other up and coming new directors.

>Kate Dickie and Ralph Ineson

Literally fucking who?

Yeah the mom was the only one I really knew. She's got a pretty distinctive appearance and usually she's very good at her roles.

Maybe unknown was a little harsh, but they're not exactly a-listers, just very good character actors.

This movie fucked with my head... probably one of the edgiest movies I've seen.

It's only pretentious if you think good acting and obsession to detail are pretentious, which it seems a few people on this board do. The story itself is quite simple.

You need to see more then

Be honest tv, wouldst thou like to live deliciously?

Not even once.

i-i will not be tempted by you!! away creature!!!

That fucking performance from the boy was amazing. His speech before his death was the best piece of child acting I've ever seen.

Goats creep me the fuck out. I ain't listening to shit he has to say.

You need to see more then.

i wanted 2 fuck thomasin

I probably do. What is better?

in retrospect it would be really tempting. all that power, all that freedom, not having to worry about being seen as sinful and impure because you enjoy luxuries. plus you get to fly around.

...

Reminder Thomasins nude scene was a body double and she's fucking ugly and flat chested

Orphan has a great kid actress.

not that person but Kirsten Dunst was great in Interview with the Vampire.

And your point is?
Also she is qt

>have to fuck the devil
>going to be betrayed by him and burnt at a stake
>damn your soul and burn in hell for eternity

Sounds like fun for a few years of being an edge master

Q: What small British territory is Anya Taylor-Joy from?

A: The Isle o' Mao

from scary satan sheep to 16th century pimp

>you will never be /ss/ed to death

Yeah but it's a sucky movie. She was great though, best part of it by a mile. Preferred the boy in the Witch. Probably just because it's a better movie though

Thank Jesus they didn't show him. A single boot and jangling metal is perfect. Let's you know he's other worldly but doesn't place him into any specific time period/location.

Generally id say yes. It was, however, pretty cool to see that he's humble about it:

>Eggers is quick to disclaim that he in no way has “absorbed any of Bergman,” adding that “The Witch is very ‘Look at a director make his first feature!’ And I hope that I can eventually grow out of that.” And yet, Eggers’ Witch certainly wages the holy war at its center on the “soul’s battlefield,” the milieu in which Woody Allen once described Bergman exceling beyond any other filmmaker.
