Wow what an awful ending/final season

Wow what an awful ending/final season.

You just didn't understand it and/or your jealous.

2deep4u

I bet you don;t even realise what the Coke commercial was implying

Fuck this show, finished watching it couple days ago and know i just want to kill myself, such a depressive piece of junk, shouldve stopped after season 2

Please explain.

Season 3/Lane Pryce was god tier.

>Lane Pryce

Why did you reminded me

>LE ITS TOO LE DEEP U PLEB

>amc greenlights six seasons of a show that's nothing but a jewish diatribe against goy controlled media

Almost every series has an awful ending...

Lost
Twin Peaks
Battlestar Gallactica
Quantum Leap
The Sopranos
ALF
Seinfeld
Rosanne
And so on and so forth.

My advice is avoid wasting so much time for ultimately being disappointed, stop watching television and move on to cinema.

>he thought the finale would be explosive

nigga did you understand the series or did you watch it while browsing Sup Forums?

Don's creative genius is renewed and he goes back to McCann Ericson to make the Coke ad.

That ad was in reality made by soem guy at McCann Ericson and was one of the most groundbreaking advertisements in history

The monologue from that one guy makes Don realise he has basically been depressed his whole life. Depression wasn't really a well recognized thing back then, especially with me. Knowing he wasn't alone helped him through it.

1. The stuff about the ad is pretty obvious.
2. Don had bigger problems than depression.
3. Finale/most of the last season sucked.

No, it was perfect. Expertly executed, an amazing final half season. Sorry about your taste.

agreed.
didnt even know anything about that stupid coke ad til someone over the age of 40 literally told me aabout it.
then i saw the ad, and it was still unimpressive.
why did people jerk off to this again?

>mad men is still finished
All that finale did was pass on Don's depression

wow truly some great arguments there

>he told people he invented the buy the world a coke commercial!

had to have some old person tell me about it, literally never heard of it until before that.
then i saw it, and still couldnt get why it was jerked off to by so many people

At least we got January Jones out of it

Squee

so.... you have to be over the age of 40 to watch this show?
no wonder i didnt get it.
literally never even heard of that coke ad til my uncle told me about it after that episode.
never even knew that McCann place was a real company til you literally just states it in this thread.
not even kidding.

In response to other great arguments. The ending wasn't deep or hard to get.

no more than you need to be over 40 to watch That 70s Show

>awful ending
>The Sopranos
>Seinfeld

Nigga, what are you talking about?

Neither did I, but that's what the internet is for

What are YOU talking about? You liked those endings? Because you'd be the only one.

can someone explain what the fuck made that Coke ad so fucking popular back then? its nothing spectacular or shocking or even out-of-the-ordinary, people sing in commercials all the time.

TV was different back then
Culture and the zetigeist was different back then
It apparently just struck a chord with people

Of course if you put it on TV now even with modern production values it would barely register and probably flop. It's just different times

Go look at things like movie trailer from the 80s compared with the ones we have today. Things just change

It exploited the hippy cultural zeitgeists of the time ostensibly promoting universal love and cultural harmony by claiming that the world's problems could be solved if we could all just come together and have a coke.

Different times, user. Television had much more power in terms of influence rather than today.

Is some guy 69'ing with Woody from toy story in the background

Well, the sopranos could be debatable, but Seinfeld finale is perfect. Characters were assholes to other people for almost ten years and end up in prison for their actions.

because that's a thing that happens

What? That was the best way they could have ended it. You didnt get it.

If you think about it long enough, the finale is actually pretty depressing. He accepts his advertising "ego," finds a new "idea" for an ad campaign, like the other user previously mentioned, and fully accepts the circle of his character that we saw throughout the show. His enlightenment is just as artificial as the life he's been living throughout the show.

The finale didn't show any closure. What you call tell is Don got had a breakthrough and came up with what's considered one of the greatest commercials of all time. Apart from that, it didn't really show if he won over deppresion, who he ended up with or anything else. That's not the intention of the show, from what I can tell. I guess they left for the viewer's discretion to imagine what happened to Don Draper.

>playing the you just don't get it card
go fuck yourself

The series author didn't mention any closure to the main characters, apart from the fact he wanted them "to be a little bit happier than at the beginning". We just watched some people's lives between 1960 and 1971, nothing can tell if they managed to get what they wanted in the end.

this sums it up ; Don finally accepted that he's a shallow guy but he's doing what he does best, and that's advertising.

Seinfeld finale is still bad.

>i need everything wrapped up with a nice little bow! this isn't fair!

I have the perfect show for you and plens like you. It's called Breaking Bad.

I can't remember right now. Did Don find out about Betty's death before his breakdown?

I understood the ending. I don't need things wrapped up in a bow. I thought the ending, and most of the final season, was poor. Figure out a new straw man.

>a little bit happier than at the beginning
That's accurate for most characters, really, except for a few obvious ones. Not so sure about Don though.

Kinda wish best girl didn't just get cancer, though.

His daughter made a phone call and slipped the word to him, I think he called Betty afterwards but she said she didn't want him to come visit her.

Loved her in the show

What would've been a better ending?

Do I have to submit an alternative script for every show and movie I didn't like?

Yes. It's ol' saying "only criticize when you can do better".

Season 7 was released over two years in two parts so it messed with the flow.

Imagine ending a season on the Cooper dance and song

That's a dumb saying. Did your filthy whore of a mother teach you that?

Megan gets murdered by the manson family

Name one thing that didn't go right for Don.

Do you eat with that mouth, young boy?

He was born poor to abusive parents?

You sound like Bryan Singer. Fuck off old man.

He corrupted Betts.

His childhood allowed him greater creative insight when trying to speak to the masses. It also taught him the importance of hard-work and gave him a healthy fear of sliding back into poverty or not providing an upscale lifestyle for his family.

You're trolling or a liberal idiot.

Sup Forums's constant wit and humour continues to surprise me
