This band is so fucking good

Not shoegaze but I enjoyed this and you will too.

youtube.com/watch?v=mZGNTx6SrrE

Favorite winter shoegaze?

Mine has to be Isn't Anything because it uses the word "snow."

nice trips
mine are all the shoegaze all year long

anyone want some phone shugazi wallpapers?

Somebody listen to this song, it's one of my favorite tracks in the genre. It's a shame they didn't make any more shit like this, they're mostly lo-fi indie

m.youtube.com/watch?v=pShEVhvDyMY

Yes

good dubs
I didn't make these btw

yo this is good, is that an album? Does the rest of it sound like this?

...

starts a little bit awkward though
but then it begins to be pretty addicting and flawlessly flows

yeah,good track user

In Your Room is one my favourite shoegaze songs. It never feels like 9 minutes for me. I've not even listened to other Airiel songs, but I should probably at least listen to the rest of the Winks and Kisses set.

It's dream pop but the Mysterious Skin soundtrack is nice around this time of year (or any time really, it's beautiful) youtube.com/watch?v=pIxhlBngIr4

I've always associated LSD and the Search for God's first EP with winter as well for some reason

never seen them posted on here

thanks for this rec user this is beautiful

I love this EP series but I REALLY don't care for their full length.

nice digits
Winks and Wisses is a must, especially the 3rd ep (Firefly,Sharron Apple and the GOAT track: In Your Room)but dont miss the rest of them(check: 500 Deep or Shirley Temple Tidal Wave)

absolutely recommended personally

Not really, actually. This song totally sounds like a closer but it's not and that bugs the crap out of me.
Still a good EP, they have better tunes though

nice album

...

heinously underrated album.

I mean it's underrated I guess, but not HEINOUSLY

wow I thought this band just did noise and recordings of people shitting

Forever underrated

ok

Missed your chance to say "Sweet Trips."

Thanks for distributing these, had fun making a few of those.

do you all think this is shoegaze? parts of it sound a lot like loveless to me

I love this album. It's more like dreamy twee pop than shoegaze imo but still /shugazi/ applicable.

It's tweegaze.

noisy bump

Is this Shugaze?

It's shoegaze. Very twee as people mentioned. Also Pains of Being Pure at Heart almost completely ripped them off. Fun fact.

It's pop punk, but there's cool guitar tones and melodies either way

yeah thanks for making them dude. I still use that sweet trip one you made me.

Where do I go in the BrianJonestownmassacre's
discog from their debut?

Why are Ride's first two records so much cheaper than Slowdive's?

I understand Isn't Anything and Loveless warranting $100 for original pressings, but Souvlaki's almost in the same price range whereas Nowhere and Going Blank Again are both like $35-$50 average

Were far more copies pressed or are Ride's contemporaries just that much more valued?

Bump for new update on Curve's bandcamp page.

curve.bandcamp.com/album/cuckoo-archive-songs-and-segues

the pains added a bit more noise to it though
take away the keyboards and you can say that they're a total rip of black tambourine (or conway era mbv)

ride charted better than either one

So then I'm guessing there were more copies pressed
I'd known Ride were the most commercially successful of the three but that was also 25 years ago

the organ and the keyboards are just too similar, although pains cranked down the volume a bit, THAT ORGAN WAS LOUD

anyone got those shoegaze charts? forgot to save

Who here hype for new Tangible Rays tho?

Would you say Blonder Tongue Audio Baton is more shoegaze or noise pop?

The latter

Posting this screen cap until it becomes a meme.

Absolutely anticipating this album. I fucking loved Grow House.

you called?

postin the black gays one next

who's goin to see Alcest? I'm going in Montréal if yall wanna hang.

I'll be at the Nashville show

shameless self-promotion shitpost?

soundcloud.com/thesnuffstuff/comforts

Super comfy. Layering is very weird and doesn't quite blend together if that's what you were going for but the vibe still works for me. Would listen to album.

Now that holidays are over what did everyone end up getting /shugazi/-related?
Anything you'd like to buy yourself now with the newfound holiday cash?

shirley temple tidal wave is awesome, and rainflower too, check em

Nice to see C U R V E getting some love around here. One of my favorite bands.

Hope you're aware of SPC ECO, Dean Garcia's project with his daughter Rose Berlin on vox and Chatelaine, Toni Halliday's solo project.

Posting my AOTY. If you haven't heard it I suggest you do.

Wye Oak - Tween

Too Right
youtu.be/2-0L_umWpfU

I love the shoegaze touch in this EP of Deerhunter.

youtube.com/watch?v=lihQ7FkT4mA

> dat noisy Fluorocent Grey's final part.

I fucking love Shirley Temple Tidal Wave

>ywn be a kid in the early 90s rolling face at a Ride show

Do it at the rap equivalent of a Ride show, it should feel the same.

>rap equivalent of a Ride show
Who would this be

idk what's a cloud rap artist that is atmospheric but is more on the trap or poppy side of things

Rocky?

Kinda considered him but I feel like he might be too popular to be the Ride equivalent, or maybe I just don't know how big Ride was at the time.

Maybe like Main Attrakionz or something but maybe not.
It gotta be an artist that seems to have underlying tones of sadness or melancholy or something like that in the mood of their songs.

SLEPT ON

youtube.com/watch?v=OGHF2Ud6dcg

what does Sup Forums think of De Stevens?

youtube.com/watch?v=HlJQKPU1xTc

Didn't get any new shoegaze (only CDs were the latest Between the Buried and Me and Coheed albums, basically the anti-gaze) but I did get one of those cool new lullatone idiophone thingamajigs that are like hang drums normal people can afford and I fully intend to use it in my own shoegaze-ish music. Haven't had a chance to try adding effects to it yet but even just the natural tone is very dreamy and hypnotic.

Got a CD of Velocity; Design; Comfort. Going to buy a reverb pedal soon to complete my shoegaze setup.

Is that guy who bought the Behringer EM600 ITT? I wanna know if the reverse setting is actually reverse reverb or something else because of doesn't do that I'mma just splurge on an Electro-Harmonix Cathedral instead.

How does listening to this compare to actually doing heroin?

Nothing compares to doing heroin.

That's why artists make such lush music when they get clean. They're trying in vain to recreate the feeling.

It's just sounds and stuff.

Someone else did a shameless self-plug so I might aswell do one too.

debutantemusic.bandcamp.com/album/ep3
>drone pop

>post-punk
FFO HaNL, Boris, The Angelic Process

I'm sorry to be that guy, but is there anything else like this? harsh pop music with sweet female vocals over it. i already have listened to everything on this chart:

youtube.com/watch?v=aSBUPAjqIx0

this is actually a good album. i really like it so far, user.

This is great. Nice fuzzy walls of noise and the writing underneath is actually interesting for once, it's amazing how often people forget about that part.

Just me or does this song sound like a shoegaze song without the distortion? Reminds me of LSD and the search for god

youtube.com/watch?v=3euj8m2_pug

Starts at 1:00 btw

rip christmas

I got this and I just pre-ordered prescence of nothing

I'm hyped

thanks user

>tfw got tickets for lilys in February
good good

production of the drums irks me a bit but yea this is a good ass song

cheers guys!

is anyone here into oceansize btw? they blended texture-heavy shoegaze with post-rock and math rock elements. their entire discog is solid, but frames and effloresce are straight up 10/10 albums for me.

youtu.be/O-1bOANA-AU

Requesting pic related

Dinosaur Jrs your living all over me has a similar headspace to doing heroin but maybe that's because I did heroin while doing it.

Who /AR Kane/ here?

I listened to these guys like 4 years ago, but I just started listening to them again and forgot how good they were. Way ahead of their time I think.

youtube.com/watch?v=pscGxGxyE4o&t=1125s

love this fucking song.

try Asobi Seksu, Black Tambourine, Lush, Serena-Maneesh

newfag here

What exactly is the difference between shoegaze, dream pop, space rock and ambient?

Anyone have any MEGA links?

does anyone have this?

Shoegaze is rock with heavy use of reverb and distortion pedals. Dream pop is pop plus reverb and distortion, and is much less guitar-centric. Space rock is less dense acoustically. Ambient doesn't really have anything to do with any of these in and of itself, but there does exist ambient shoegaze.

To hear the difference between shoegaze and dream pop, compare your favorite My Bloody Valentine track to something by Candy Claws. Both are sonically dense but Candy Claws doesn't have Thebes's same fetish for guitars.

*MBV's same fetish for guitars. Weirdest autocorrect I ever saw

>but maybe that's because I did heroin while doing it.
how'd that go for you

Any bands similar to Curve? They have a pretty neat sound. Lush is kind of close.

youtube.com/watch?v=w9_c0HGbvyA

...

I checked out their complete singles collection a few months ago and it's pretty dope. I've been meaning to go through their back catalogue but I've got a bumch if releases from this year I need to check out.

Asobi Seksu - s/t in FLAC

anyone have any working link to real estate atlas?? Archive ones are dead

I have no idea how one can find this enjoyable, from a musical standpoint at least

Any of my Sup Forums cunts ever listened to this aussie gem? I've never ever seen them posted here

youtube.com/watch?v=76jw3E9q5VM

saw these guys when I was a kid back in like 96 or so
