Did they just rip off the 78 Superman poster with this?
Or is it ''paying homage'' or something?
Did they just rip off the 78 Superman poster with this?
...
>poster shows ship and exploration
>movie will destroy ship and strand them on a planet in the first 15 minutes
Wew lad
still better than 90% of posters we see these days, ripoff or not
>Actually a good poster
Nice
This is true
Movie will probably be ass, but this is the best poster for any movie I've seen in 2016
>ripping off a good poster from 1978 makes it a good poster
not surprised tbf
First real TOS movie senpai
Anyone make a webm of the warp field bubble from the teaser?
Pretty based
Could do without the 3d lettering but would hang on a dorm wall/10
What is with the rollout for this movie? It feels like there's absolutely no hype and that first trailer was one of the worst I've seen in years. Have they given up?
>it feels there's absolutely no hype
that's because there is no hype
The production was rushed because JJ jumped ship to Star Wars so they were stilling working on effects and stuff when they should have been cutting trailers. The marketing team totally shit the bed with the first teaser so they regrouped and now the advertising is starting.
I know I'm in the minority here but from what I've been reading this all sounds like a good thing. They're streamlining the plots and focusing more on character interaction than shitty references and callbacks. It looks to be the purest TOS style adventure story we've had out of a Trek film yet.
Remember that Star Trek II was heavily rushed and had a dark horse director and literally one fifth of the budget of TMP and all of that pressure added up to arguably the best Trek film because it was make or break and the creators were given some freedom. I'm going based on interviews I've seen with the director and Pegg but I'm holding out some hope that could be the case again.
That's a nice poster i must say famellastic.
ORANGE
AND
BLUE
I hope this one will be fun, unlike Into Darkness.
>Complementary colors are visually striking
Congrats user, welcome to the eighteenth century
>Complementary colors are visually striking
then why do we never get to see purple and yellow, or green and red? Why always orange and blue?
i see 6 different pairs, yet it's ALWAYS orange/blue
Purple and yellow just look ugly as fuck, I can't tell you why.
The red and green contrast have essentially been ruined by culture. It's difficult to see that colors together without being reminded of Christmas on some subconscious level.
>the red and green contrast have essentially been ruined by culture
you mean like the orange and blue?
I thought it was an homage to this
Yes user. I'm saying that a trend in the last three or four years of Hollywood blockbuster poster design has ingrained its way into the collective unconscious with the same degree of effectiveness as the visual language of Christmas
I'm not seeing the resemblance...
Then why do we still get the fucking blue and orange posters if it's all the same anyway
or a better question yet, why don't we get posters like this for the big blockbusters?
It still kind of have the same color scheme. alot yellow red and blue and a little green.
Blue and orange is much more natural. Blue can be applied to water, sky, a night-time look, etc. Orange can also be applied to the sky, explosions, buildings, etc.
^this is such a blatant rip off of this>
that i hope bob peak's estate or warner bros. sues paramount
bob peak also painted
Kek
But no that's kinda neat
What did they mean by this?
It beats the photoshop garbage that's been all the rage since the 90's. Besides, if you look at a lot of classic movie posters, they all rip each other off.
>You'll believe a man can fly
What did they actually mean by this.
You'll be inculcated into believing that a man need not wings to take flight, and another magick.
cool poster
looks like this won't be Star Trek (2009) again
