>He doesn't listen for atmosphere

you're rolling

ok i'll admit grails is pretty good. especially doomsdayer's holiday. that album is awesome.

this for the most part but every now and then you can find gems

>Grails

Grails is the shit

>That getting-stoned-at-the-monastery-feel their music creates.

Solid third wave band. What other third wave bands sound this good?

yeah

There are some gems, but I'm irked that a lot of the bands just use the quiet-loud dynamic

We all know Nirvana are to blame for that shit

>Not blaming Slint

the small number of exceptions that prove the rule

Posting the essentials chart

Maybe we should blame Godspeed since they gave them their seal of approval and now every post rock band is a sigur ros, Godspeed and Explosions in the sky wannabe

Godspeed just did atmosphere/crescendo the best, now every band wants to be them.

Not that I mind, I'm just saying

>tfw no bands try and imitate Talk Talk or Bark Psychosis

Too many bands that do the same thing over and over again.

That being said I fucking love Moonlight. If it wasn't for this song I probably wouldn't give this album a second listen.

Where's the line drawn between first wave, second wave, third wave, etc. post-rock bands?

Black metal and post rock have one major thing in common, they peaked in their first wave

Talk talk is interesting because how could some new wave/pop rock band progress into something so sweet and intricate

Hey thanks for that

thanks for the recc. me gusta a whole lot.

Is there any post rock that's not crescendocore?

Yes, lots of first and second wave, and Grails
