Was this a horrible year for music?

Was this a horrible year for music?

Yes

We Got It From Here deserves more attention as nobody expected it to 1) be a thing 2) be very good

only if you are a pleb

Wtf Lemonade was not that good

Yeah it was pretty bad.
2012>2014>2013>2010>2011>2015>2016

Hell no, we got so many unexpected comebacks that managed to be amazing.

I suspect Sup Forums is pushing this meme because they're bitter about that furfag actually succeeding while their bandcamp projects stagnate

>Blackstar lost to Lemonade
>Again

What the fuck?

Lemonade was a good album
Personally I liked Blackstar more but I can totally see why more people would like Lemonade.

wow the top 9 were all in p4k's top 10 just rearranged

>unexpected comebacks that managed to be amazing
american football, the avalanches am i missing any other shitty comebacks?

But EVERY list I've seen has those 2 in the same place. It's so god damn weird. I'd figure at least ONE list would think Blackstar was better.

because the average joe has no taste and gravitates towards easy-to-digest, vapid media?

>Skeleton Tree made the list
nice.

Lemonade is kind of symptomatic of 2016 as a whole though. A mediocre iteration that rode an "intellectual" fascination with identity politics to popularity despite having very little to back it up.

if you wanna phrase it in a way that allows you to stroke your ego then sure

I haven't been paying attention but I think you're right actually, kinda weird

maybe critics are afraid it'll seem like obvious death pandering and actually demean the album?

Nah there was awesome stuff out this year. None of it's in that pic though.

The Fall of Troy's shitty comeback.

Well nobodies flat out 'demeaned' it. It's still getting great reviews it's just....always 2.

(Also, anyone else not seeing (you)S or am I the only one having that problem? I'm just seeing dotted lines.)

>(Also, anyone else not seeing (you)S or am I the only one having that problem? I'm just seeing dotted lines.)
The last major death of 2016 wasn't Brian Wilson or Aretha Franklin, it was (you).

Considering that every one of those 20 albums (with the possible exception of blackstar) is flat-out bad, I'd say yes, it was a shitty year for music.

,T...the..there's no more (You)'s on Sup Forums?

>(with the possible exception of blackstar)

lol

>muh bowie
>muh blekster

bowie was a hack and your opinion belongs in the gutters
