Thanks, matey.

Fuck I need an account....I'll think about it though.

sonic youth. dim stars
youtube.com/watch?v=LnSbZhEQa7k

sometimes i feel very sad

If I thought Grouper was good, I'd be pretty sad too.
I've heard Sonic Youth, just like everyone else that posts here, but thanks though.

what

Were you not rec'ing me Sonic Youth or...?

There's already one up though..

Big Ups - Before a Million Universes
Ought - More Than Any Other Day
Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory

alvvays - s/t
candy claws - ceres and calypso in the deep time

Feeling lazy.

are you a shorter guy?

>3/10
If it makes a difference, these are hardly my favorites. Just albums I like from the past three to four weeks.

Gotcha. Just not a fan of dad rock user

have you heard Pretty Little Lightning Paw by Mt Zion? Its great, especially if you like Horses in the Sky.
No Brave Little Abacus? or Algernon Cadwallader?
Nice taste man

Great, your chart does change constantly but I like it.
Have you tried The Pastels or FKA Twigs?
I think I recd you some stuff last time but I can never rember.
Slaves new album is pretty decent.
You might like S.Maharba?
Youth Funeral, Street Smart Cyclists
Shit I keep forgetting about Daughters. Listen to Your Son Is Dead's bandcamp.
I just like this.
Mercury Rev?
++Deer Tick
This is nice

I'd only call the Van Halen album dad rock, but it's actually more solid and original than you'd expect.

The B 52s first album is nothing like their top 40 stuff, it's more of a dada new wave, post punk thing with cocaine organ jams about sea creatures and such.

...

tbqh i feel like most people in these threads just pretend to like music

my nigga

I'm curious, how long did it take you guys to develop such distinct tastes?

this is my chart for reference

About 2 days. If your taste isn't unique within a week, you'll always be a prole.

shouldn't take that long

about a couple days and some soul crushing loneliness and emotional trauma.

Once you get out of the mindset of flavor of the month, of pitchfork and my-core, once you find a core group of critics and bloggers who have a perspective on music history, it actually becomes super easy to find good, under appreciated music.

The biggest downside will be that you can't shitpost about the music you find on myoo.

ya, cool dude that composes atonal miniatures in a modality after Webern

*mu-core

can you recommend me some critics or bloggers?

i feel like ur bein a bit cheeky

i'm really not. i'm just looking for new sources to find music. Sup Forums just hasn't been doing enough for me lately

Tinymixtapes, Wire magazine, CLT's Patrician-core charts, He gets a lot of shit, but Scaruffi's book is a real perspective changer on the history of rock.

personally, I devoted myself to a handful of genres I felt strongly about and went from there, tracing back the history and influences and supplementing that with general reading to give larger perspective on being able to appreciate music in general

ideally, music discovery as art exploration goes hand in hand with some sort of self-development I think

GAS THE KIKES

i finally remade a chart after years of not doing charts.

i think this is a great reflection of where my tastes are at the current time.

i would love opinions on it.

will rate in a seapate comment

calm down

get out

>i finally remade a chart after years of not doing charts.
>years of not doing charts
>YEARS
Your taste is fucking horrible considering you've been on this site for years. You'd think that one would be able to get some semblance of taste after looking at the horrible shit on this site on a daily basis.

judge me

+ Bjork, Schubert, Art Blakey, Sun Ra, and the fact your taste is varied.
sadly don't know a ton of these w/o caption.
- that TH album i like almost all their other albums more
+flipper, faust, beat happening, television, SAETIA FOR REALLA!!!!!! (so dope), triple six, the smiths, and prob more i don't see
+tigermilk
Listen to The Softies
+not being a rockist
+samuel jackson five
otherwise looks elitist lol
+Schoenberg
that font is illegible over that background lol
there's a lot of good shit here

I've clocked that Trondheim/Mhyr/Hval record before but never listened, will give it a go tomorrow.

cheers, buddy, will look into The Softies

lol implying i ever go on Sup Forums anymore

just came back cause i made a chart and wanted to post it upppp.

nice to see some love for flotation toy warning and prefab sprout on yours, pal :+)

anything K records or sarah records would probably suit your tastes. especially their early 90s releases.

lots to go through there alone.

>otherwise looks elitist
jesus christ get a clue

...

>asleep in the sea/ roar
hell yea i love them

speaking in tongues is one of my favorites too

I'm out of stuff to listen to recommend me things

listened to a bit of the early K Records stuff through my love of Beat Happening and never really found anything that stuck out as much as they did for me, I'll give Sarah Records a go as well though

god it's so nice to see some love for them on Sup Forums.

Owen / ROAR has been one of my favorite musicians for years after a friend showed me asleep in the sea years ago. think they found them through KC Green (comic artist)'s last.fm years ago.

Owen is a great guy too.

was rly hard to pick just one to put on this chart but that one is just maybe their most fleshed out and mature work IMO and has a few of my favorite songs. almost put stop making sense or more songs, though.

all of Rose Melberg's stuff is on there.
Halo Benders. Built to Spill.

The Go! Team, All Girl Summer Fun Band, Bikini Kill

Talulah Gosh is a personal favorite of mine.

Just stuff I like from a cursory glance at their catalog.

I dont really know if i can rec things, but here's my chart if you have any suggestions.

Bardo Pond - Amanita

Street Smart Cyclists - Pastor of Muppets.

did you just see snowing on there and instantly decide to rec street smart cyclist?

why not rec, like, the rest of the twinkle emo bands that are more comparable to snowing first?

I'm a normie so what?

Because I think SMC is better desu.
Listen to Mall Punks, Glocca Mora, I wrote haikus about canibalism in your yearbook, Chinese Football, I hate Myself.

but you've probably already heard about them.

pavement are timeless

take this rec and shove it

no

this heat only have 2 albums...

yfw salamander's head connected to red ampersand's body

glad to see dennis cleveland
i think ive only heard kevin parks/hong shulki/jin sangtae loop sine waves rhythmically like that before
mikelrouse.com/career/ its so fucking weird to think of the perspective of intersecting influences of probably very white elitist schillinger and "african music". never seen a musician like mikel rouse
thats sad isaac. im glad you DID finally listen to work/nonwork tho. its not like... anything. scaruffi says the exact opposite, but.

have you been to any tubby dog shows lately? why wouldnt i just fb msg you? to avoid Sup Forums ironically
stop breathing (Cigarette fumes) - pavement
@hank keenan it WAS an awkward inclusion the meth thing i thought it sounded like hani banter and also what youd classical use to scrape the barrel if you were to

talking heads

>tfw probably getting pneumonia again
If I wind up in the hospital this time around I mean just JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL

God I think I finally found someone more incoherent than me what tuevfuck are you even saying

...

i still cant get over how cool your taste is...

i always just look at your chart for 5mins

Ghost Mice - Fairy Battle, All We Got
Brave Little Abacus
Even Oxen
Moon Safari

La Quiete - La fine non è la fine
Yann Tiersen - Dust Lane
Gallowbraid - Ashen Eidolon

hanks not with us
he left like 2 months ago

oh thats a reasonable opinion

:(

that's, like, my least favorite orchid release.

why pick that one unless you've not heard the rest?
