/who/ - Doctor Who General

Destiny of the Daleks edition

Does anyone like this? Douglas Adams' jokes were good at least.

That regeneration scene tho.

What the fuck, is that the 6th Doctor's rainbow umbrella? MY ENTIRE WORLD IS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN.

I'm sure that there's a fanwankery story where Six goes back in time and accidentally leaves his umbrella in Four's TARDIS

read the Target Novelizations first and then watch the episode so you can be disappointed at how much cooler you imagined the whole thing to be. I think there's not a single novelization that doesn't add at least something to the mix.

Would be cool if there was a new-who-fan who got into the classic series through the novelizations and kept seeing the Master in his mind as John Simm or Derek Jacobi because he had no other point of reference.

Probably one of my least favorite stories of all time, the whole thing just makes me cringe and the comedy feels way too overdone, especially when you can tell it was just pasted on top of some fresh Terry Nation garbage

I'm almost never this negative but Destiny of the Daleks is just painful

Is there another one for why Three and Sarah had it?

How deep does this rabbit hole go?

>m-m-muh lore

weak

>surfboard logo

It is like one of the most important things in the lore though. It's like if they had an episode where the Daleks showed up and were suddenly good guys and everyone acted like it was normal and it was never explained.

Adams deserved to die because of Romana's regeneration scene.

If the Movellans are robots then why do some of them have breasts?

Because everything in the Doctor Who universe has tits, even lizard people, robots and aliens.

>everything in the Doctor Who universe has tits
Sounds like my kind of place.

captcha: horne rond point

Why is the new companion named Bill? Why does she looks like a he? This some transgender shit?

Women can be named Bill, you mong. Billie Piper, for example.

get out

>everything in the Doctor Who universe has tits

Bill and Billie are completely different, you inbred spastic.

Yeah just like Rob and Robert are completely unrelated.

Gallifrey never.

Dude.
It's out.

Now stop it.

This is good.
I approve.

Also bump.

I want a sticker.

Bill is usually short for Belinda.

Bump.

FUCKING FINALLY

enjoy c:

BF's best series in my opinion.

>Ace is a Time Lord (somehow changed race)
>same fucking badly acted character
>nah

time lord is a rank

Time Lord denotes anyone who graduated from the Academy. Did you listen to any of the other Gallifrey Audios?

Ace regenerates, who do you cast for her next incarnation?
hard mode: no black boy

That is a bastardisation of the original concepts. It was a race originally not a fucking diploma.

"They are my own people."

"You are one of thr most corrupt beings this Time Lord race has ever produced."

Time Lord High is some recently introduced american faggotry.

regeneration beams go in the direction the hands are pointing
what a shitty fanart

What? A concept in Doctor Who...CHANGING?! After YEARS?
This is a PHUCKING outrage

To a shittier concept. No thanks. You patronising predictable prick.

>To a shittier concept.
In what sense? Making the distinction between the 'Gallifreyan' race and the 'Time Lord' rank increases the complexity of their society.

I bet Ian phucking hates Time Lord High School and being a Time Lord reduced to taking classes that an ordinary human has no trouble passing.

Time Lords aren't a race at least since The Invasion of Time, where the Outsiders (who are Gallifreyans but not Time Lords) appear.

Written by two cunts without a single good idea between them.

No it isn't.

Hi trollanon!

Gallifrey: Enemy Lines is absolutely stunning so far.

Romana's regeneration scene was written in 15 mins in a pub before it was recorded. That's how much attention to detail Williams had. It was just meant to be funny and forgotten.

I've mostly found it boring desu, except for a few episodes here and there.
Faction Paradox did Time Lord politics better.

This.

And Marc Platt did Gallifreyan history and development much better.

Season 5 in particular is a strong contender for my least favorite boxset from BF. Just incredibly dull from start to finish.

I really need to read LOOMSbarrow one day.

Read Time's Crucible first. It documents the regime change on Gallifrey, early time travel and the reason for looms.
It explains the Sisterhood and their split from Gallifrey.
All of these things are bookended and resolved in Lungbarrow.

everybody knows that the best depiction of Gallifrey is the Alan Moore version

I like those they are mental. Moore invents the Time War in them.

Wait a second.
Shouldn't that be Tom Baker doing the introduction in the top right corner?

Who the fuck shopped a shitty drawing of Elrond into based 4's spot

Fuck off Nate

...

Who?

Literally who?

YOU RING THE BELL
BIM BAM
YOU SHOUT AND YOU YELL
HI HO HO

yeah, when the Special Executives from Moore's Gallifrey-stories showed up in Captain Britain for the first time they reprinted the Doctor Who strips along with them and changed Tom Baker into Merlin.

captain britain is totally canon btw

...

BABY BABY BABY

...

>merlin
Is this where Meshyroo got its batshit insane merlin timeline from?

UK schoolcunts ahoy

OHH I CAN'T DECIDEE WHETHER YOU SHOULD LIVE OR DIEEE

I think Cloister gets out of his fucking cage at this time, too, m8. Same time zone every day.

There’s a Justin Bieber film. In 3D! Is that kind of wrong?

YOU BROKE THE SPELL

>reminder series 10 leak

Was this the worst Deus Ex Machina the show ever pulled since 2005?

youtu.be/LmmMBWecIo8

It might be the most literal.

Why were the BBC retarded when they burned those classic Doctor Who episodes?

No way, that would be Parting of the Ways. That's literally a god (heart of the TARDIS) dropping in to obliterate all the Daleks, create Bad Wolf and fix everything in one fell swoop, without it really being pre-established that it could do anything beyond de-age a Slitheen.

They were literally just following common practice and couldn't possibly have guessed that this dumb kids' show would turn into such a huge century-spanning craze that it was worth sparing precious tapes for.

RTD's era is just so embarrassing. Jesus Christ.

youtu.be/LjqGdfMXx5w

>there are comments under the video defending that shit

Why are DW fans so retarded?

fucking hell Freema cannot act

...

the scene in doctor's daughter where she cries over the the hath dying is worse

>Meshyroo
Literally what?

i never rewatch 21st century who and I had forgotten how bad some of it is

IT'S NOT FAIR

I can't remember a thing about those episodes other than making me hungry. Watching people eat fast does that for me.

even worse it was just a shitty lazy ripoff of what happened in The Flood

(he ripped off the invisible Cybermen in the streets part of The Flood for another finale)

>DW fans
They're not fans, they're "Whovians".

>The Doctor turned into a gollum
>Then he turned into Jesus
Fucking hell, I don't know which one is worse. Why did you remind me?

RTD is a limited writer of SF so he tends to just create on the spot temporary superpowers in the place of a good story.
Even worse he nicks the ideas from better sources.

I have never read anything to suggest RTD and Moffat have read much SF at all. A few comics in RTD's case and a few SF/SF comedies in Moffat's case.

Moff is clearly more scifi than RTD though.

>in Moffat's case
and Alien Bodies, we know that one for a fact.

twitter.com/DWMtweets/status/735136601077108740
The Twelfth Doctor vs Angry Pepe

more Bill and Ted, Back to the Future, Star Wars and The Time Travellers Wife than 'harder' SF though I'd say

Some of RTD's episodes, like The Long Game, Gridlock or Utopia, have some nice sci-fi settings. It's a pity that he stuck to Earth so much, he wasn't bad at doing space settings.

>Dogbolter is back
Fuck yeah.
Frobisher too, please.

>Stop, I swear I'm not a normie!

>The Long Game, Gridlock or Utopia
these are all like 2000AD settings, though, as someone said earlier
two are like Mega City One stories and the 3rd like The Cursed Earth

>innuendo.jpg

how did the doctor know about the countdown one year earlier before the master had even started to make all the missiles?
