Why does this movie look so bad?

Why does this movie look so bad?

White Man's Burden: The movie.

Hell I might have been interested if the trailer wasn't so sanctimonious with the EVUL CONFEDERATES when the Union soldiers were just as racist and mangy.

Calm down Sup Forums not everything is a race issue. They didn't even show the Union troops in the trailer.

>Calm down Sup Forums not everything is a race issue.
The movie is literally White Man's Burden: The movie and you take issue with me?

>White Man's Burden: The movie.

More like "This actually happened" the movie.

It's based on a true story.

so was 12 Years a Slave, and it was shit.

nah m8

what is this movie about

stuff

Why is Sup Forums mad at this? It shows reverse cucking for a change.

drop the Sup Forums meme
12 Years a Slave was fantastic
>amazing cinematography
>solid writing
>good pacing
>terrific acting

"oh well it's about a n i g g e r lol hollywood such the SJW cuck"

fuck off, you knows-nothing cunt

Thank you user. You give me hope that there is some good taste in this wretched hive of scum and villainy.

I can't believe you guys. 12 Years a Slave was a boring worthless mess that tried so hard to be important and awe-inspiring when in reality it's just a stagey melodrama with dozens of useless cameos, a terrible lead performance, some tone-deaf camera work, and one of the worst senses of pacing I've seen in a movie (felt like 12 Months a Slave). I felt *nothing* when he was reunited with his family. I just couldn't believe this shit was made so poorly, with Deus Ex Brad Pitt saving the day lol.

>wretched hive of scum and villainy
Epic Star Wars reference bro I bet the girls dig you.

>a terrible lead performance
How is it even possible to have this opinion?

The part where they're burying that dead slave and the camera is held on his stupid monkey face for what felt like an eternity, watching the actor trying so hard to convey a sense of "enlightenment" and "understanding" in such a trite manner was one of the poorest excuses for acting and filmmaking I have ever seen.

>I felt *nothing*

when was the last time you felt anything aside from disappointment in where your life has brought you and deep-seated self-loathing?

this is just low-quality b8, you showed your hand too early

Oh look, a personal attack. I felt a considerable amount more when I watched Midnight Special, and I didn't even like that movie all that much. Still a lot better than 12 Scenes a Slave

because you're a cynic who can't help hating everything.

>RLM reaction image
>defender of 12 Moments a Slave
It's funny how stuff like that happens. Like synchronicity, only with shit taste

...

I enjoyed Midnight Special quite a bit as well, but hold up. You CANNOT make the argument that the cinematography is bad, in any way, really. It is OBJECTIVELY good. That's a word that gets thrown around a lot, but it's the correct usage here. If you look at the basics of good cinematography, it excels. It's like a textbook on how to make the mundane amazing, and how to tell a story through camera angles. It's really a directorial accomplishment, and deserves the praise it receives.
So please, leave, and take your shit taste and race memes back to whatever fresh hell I'm sure you came from.

>and one of the worst senses of pacing I've seen in a movie (felt like 12 Months a Slave)
Did you want a montage set to Run Nigger Run?

...

>It's like a textbook on how to make the mundane amazing,
No it isn't and there wasn't a single memorable (for the right reasons) shot in 12 Hours a Slave. The shot of his face singing the Negro Spiritual was garbage. The shot of him and Fassbender running around that gazebo - trash. That cloyingly obvious shot of him playing the violin in a similar club to the one he played in at the beginning. McQueen didn't even try.

I most definitely don't have shit taste for seeing this truly unremarkable race-baiting movie for what it really is.

This entire post - garbage
Your other posts - trash
user didn't even try

OMG LIKE IT WON AN OSCAR HOW CAN YOU CALL IT TRASH LIKE UMMMM CAN YOU NOT?!

No, you just clearly don't understand the most basic aspects of cinematography, shot composition, framing, or thematic storytelling through the lens.

Which is sad.

Get angry all you want about a successful movie about slavery, or that people will defend a good film which they enjoy, but just know that I feel bad for you.

And I probably always will.

...

I most definitely don't have shit taste for calling out this truly unremarkable Sup Forums baiting post for what it really is.

you have shit taste my friend.

I genuinely thought you were serious until this. Gr8 B8 M8.

None of those aspects were even slightly memorable. A big complaint about 12 Minutes a Slave is that it's filmed like a stage play, hell it was ACTED like a stage play too. A shitty one from the 1500s where everyone just wanted to see the good guy win.
