On paper sure, in the movies yeah. But this is real life user, and things don't work like that. Swinging a long gun is already difficult when you don't have someone trying to stab you. Maybe you think that pain will cause adrenaline and you'll become a superman with fast reactions, nope. You're body goes cold, you won't feel the pain but your body is still damaged and reacts as such. Tensing and trying to rationalize what just happened, while that's going on the person that's getting the strength and speed bonuses from adrenaline caused by stabbing your poor ass has just stabbed you another 4 times, your body is losing blood, brain panics, you enter self preservation instincts. You reach for the wounds, and try to block the knife. Your no longer holding the gun, you dropped it trying to stop the knife still being swung at you. And all this could have been avoided with the squeeze of a trigger.
Tldr this isn't a movie. People react more like what you see in rekt scenes, not movies.
