DOOM was great. Yeah the zombies/genetic experiments were lame instead of opening up a portal to hell. But the action and the FPS segment was really fun. Plus it introduced me to Rosamund Pike and started that crush.
Max Payne should have been great, it was basically just a funny pastiche of a bunch of different movies. The writer and director didn't play the game though and just wrote some bullshit about Jamaicans and angels.

The effects for the monsters were spot on. Monster suits and not CGI, except for Pinky.
I enjoyed it as well. My only beef was it was too long and he only uses the dagger twice.
